All make me is that I have no audio device.
Grateful for the help as soon as possible.
    Holla.

Do you have the yellow marks in Device Manager?
Are you sure that you have installed all the drivers?

Have you installed SP2 or SP3 for Windows XP? You must at least use SP2 for XP.

And as said Akuma, check the Microsoft KB to the hoftixes. Before you apply this update, you must remove the driver. Otherwise it will not work.

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?

    Hi KevinRy,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Unplug all external devices.

Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:

    1.

Right-click my computerand then click Properties.

    2.

    Click the Advanced tab.

    3.

Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.

    4.

Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.

    5.

Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.

Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.

Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.

    Kind regards
    Amal-Microsoft Support.

I was using an old computer and now I have a new and I want to give the former to my nephew, but I want to wipe the hard drive completely clean, in order to get rid of personal information. I don't have the CD of Windows XP OS came with the computer. After the failure of the hard drive, how can I recover 2007 Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3? The computer that I'm talking about is 9 years old and is a Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173.

    Hi Bobby Collas,.

You must have a copy of the installation CD without which you can not re - install the OS again.

If it were an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) installation, you can restore the factory settings. Contact the manufacturer to do the same.

    Hi LarryHoezee,

    • What is the reason to reinstall Windows XP on the computer?

There is a possibility that the Windows XP installation CD is damaged or system Bios is not properly defined.

I suggest that you check if the Windows XP installation CD works fine on another computer.

If the installation CD works fine on another computer then I suggest that you contact Dell technical support to reset the default Bios settings.

Important: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • Network Controller Driver missing after upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium

I recently installed Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 on my HP G71-340US notebook.  The installation went well except that when the computer is started, I found that the PC did not find any wi - fi connections.  After further investigation, I found that the network controller do not have a driver installed.  I downloaded the latest software of NIC driver on the HP website (via ethernet cable) and directed the pilot.  Updated the Realtek PCIe Controller Family driver, but the driver for network controller did not.  As a result, I could not even connect to wi - fi networks.  The information of the network adapter are listed below for reference.  Your help would be greatly appreciated to resolve this issue.  Thank you.

    Realtek PCIe Controller Family
    PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8136 & SUBSYS_306B103C & REV_02
    PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8136 & SUBSYS_306B103C
    PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8136 & CC_020000
    PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8136 & CC_0200

    Network controller (\Device\NTPNP_PCI0019)
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_0084 & SUBSYS_13158086 & REV_00
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_0084 & SUBSYS_13158086
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_0084 & CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_0084 & CC_0280

    You almost have it.

With the information from the Device Manager, you can determine the vendor and device information:

    Network controller (\Device\NTPNP_PCI0019)
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0084& SUBSYS_13158086 & REV_00
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_0084 & SUBSYS_13158086
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_0084 & CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_0084 & CC_0280

If you were to jump off of:

    http://PCIDatabase.com/

what you see in Device Manager enter your information provider and device of the network controller and click Search:

You can see that this device is very probably an Intel wireless device:

This jives with This HP said about your system:

If your wireless device is a part of Intel and Intel has a driver download page which has a driver update utility you can download (maybe on your desktop) and let it scan your system and see if it suggests a driver for you:

    http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

It is generally not a good idea to use Windows Update to hardware device drivers (video, audio, network) because Microsoft does not know what are the best drivers for your system.  Always get material on the www of manufacturers if possible device drivers (if you want your system to work properly).

If you ever see updates of hardware driver provided by Windows update that I would refuse them, and then hide them if you do not install the wrong drivers accidentally.

Here you can see where I chose not to install and then hidden Windows updates for an NVIDIA graphics card since I know that they are probably not right and I know I should get only the right NVIDIA from WWW NVIDIA site drivers.

Here you can see the updates that were offered, but I have not installed the and hid I don't see them yet:

  • Reinstall Windows 7 Home Edition Basic, is not installation media

Original title: can someone help me

I have WINDOWS 7 HOME BASIC 64 - bit version of license with key in my laptop. I want to reinstall my windows but don't have CD or DVD.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".
