Hatred of Windows 8

Can I replace the hard drive in my widows 8.1 HP with a hard drive from windows 7 a Toshiba?

It will not specifically crash, but it will not be in compliance, since the license for Windows 7 is related to the Toshiba because it is an OEM license.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

What kind of problems specifically with Windows 8.1?

There is the desktop application to the point 8.1 of Windows that works just like Windows 7 and you can work in it all day without access to the start screen.

You can access all of your files using File Explorer.

Pin your favorite programs to the taskbar.

    Hi Cheryl Ellis,.

Do you mean 8 IE (Internet explorer 8), and you want to go back to IE7? I guess that your homepage is now the homepage of Bing and you want to return to yahoo. To do this, click Tools in the upper right of the page and the page from the drop-down list, click on 'internet options' and in the 'Home Page' box, delete the current home page and type the address of the homepage you want, for example... www.yahoo.com in the box. Click on "OK" and close ie8. Restart your browser , and your new home page will now be Yahoo. Let us know if this solves your problem.

  • How to stop Windows 10 message upgrade?

    Hello

I started as a Mac user and then became a Linux user. I briefly used Windows XP SP2 on a homebuilt PC several years ago, while she was underway.

The Thinkpad T520, that I was the first PC I bought with Windows pre-installed, and at first I really liked Windows 7 Pro. I bought it for Photoshop with my digital camera and for Office 2010 for people who insisted on sending me .docx documents that do not always work correctly with other programs.

I am generally happy with Windows 7. He did what I needed it to do and even, let me make a few things that I couldn't do in Linux, for example, I could buy a BluRay player for the expansion Bay and install software to play BluRay movies - no DRM problem.

I have even come to prefer Bing and now use it as my default search - even on my CentOS 7 workstations engine.

But this Windows 10 upgrade stuff is really driving me crazy, ruin the experience. Windows 7 Pro works find what I need it to do, I don't want to deal with a new user interface when the software I have works fine in the current UI.

But Windows 7 continues to harass improves to 10. I don't want, and it feels like an invasion to an operating system that I paid for the material that I paid to serve as a marketing tool for an upgrade that I really just don't want to.

It feels like Microsoft is trying to force me to upgrade and I feel is not like that at all.

I use to hate Microsoft. I saw that hatred was irrational. I started to love even the company. But that, it is to bring these old feelings of anguish, and I want that darn pop level - ups to stop.

It's my phone, I'm on the version of Windows I want to run, a version that is still in charge. Just leave me alone already.

  • Windows 10 could be damaged my GTX 680 M

    Hi all

First of all I would like to say that I am writing this post after a long time (3-4 months) research and no not tried to solve my problem.

My Alienware M17x-R4 gives errors "display driver stopped responding and has recovered." everything at stake, causing many exe crashes and even complete computer freezes while gaming. Most of the time my screen becomes black and doesn't come back until I close & reopen my lit. Also I don't know if it is connected or not, but my device manager and my BIOS are not able to detect my integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000.

All these accidents and the integrated video card not detected number started after I upgraded my OS to Windows 10 Windows 8.1. At first I didn't even suspect that Windows 10 caused this. But after all this time and after that I found others have almost exactly the same problems after upgrading windows 10 I'm pretty sure that Windows 10 has something to do with it.

To clarify and summarize things since the beginning of the question:

I tried almost all common suggestions that the internet can offer to these accidents. Which is:

-Clean install of new Nvidia drivers. / rolling back to an older driver from nvidia.

-Creating a TdrDelay value in the registry files.

-Go back to Windows 7 with a clean install.

-Change my thermal paste on CPU & GPU. (Even my temperature values never went up to risky steps)

-Cleaning of the dust inside my laptop. (where he was not the one at all.)

These issues will never happen when I'm not game and pc is not powered. So I expressed whenever my PC sends the voltage highest for my CPU & GPU things start to happen. The fact that if I play only on battery (limits of PC hardware of voltage parts get while on battery) I never get these accidents showed that I am on the right way to make a diagnosis. Until a few days ago, I was very confident that it's a hardware problem and not a software problem and I suspect never upgrade Windows 10 because after that I returned to Windows 7, nothing has changed.

A few days ago, I learned that my cousin who has completely different platform began to have almost exactly the same questions I receive. driver crashes resulting black screen & integrated video card is not detectable. He said that he has just improved for Windows 10 and after a few days and a few updates, these accidents began to arrive. Then it hit me, my plant started after I upgraded my OS to Windows 10 too. A quick search shows that many people had similar problems with their equipment after upgrade windows 10. Some of them said that they had to change their cards.

So my question is, 10 Windows actually damage your equipment permanently or is it just a software problem that sticks even if you format your pc completely and downgrade to Windows 7? I know this is a serious charge, but after that I eliminated all my options is the only thing that makes sense. It is not a coincidence that two completely different rigging has the exactly the same problem after an upgrade of Windows 10. Notice that we used different sources to upgrade our windows at 10. This isn't a same file .iso or something like that.

I want that some members of authorized personnel of Alienware for help me fix this please. If it is a hardware problem, whose cause is not under my control, I refuse to pay for the repair and the replacement hardware, and if it is a software problem deep I want a helping hand please. I am very frustrated and completely tired of this question. I can't still have fun with simple routines of games every day. He has started to become a hatred of the Alienware brand.

    Thank you.

So, I solved this problem on a few days ago. Never had blocked it again. I still don't know the cause, but it turns out that for some reason my GPU has cause of instability when running at full speed, so when I lowered the Base of only 25 MHz clock offset my blocks instantly stopped. I use NvidiaInspector, but I believe you can also use other tools to overclocking.

    Sky Drive hatred!

I am running Windows Live Mail 2011 in Windows 7 (only because you didn't give me any choice).  I HATE Sky Drive.  How to uninstall it without uninstall the entire program or lose all my emails?  Stop to 'fix' things that do not need to be fixed.

Go to your control panel, click on uninstall a program, look for windows live essentials 2011 and click on it and then click on uninstall or change, and then select uninstall in the pop-up again, check the boxes for the features you wish to uninstall.

  • How do I download images from my android phone on my new computer WIndows 8?

How do I download images from my android phone on my new computer Windows 8?  In my old Vista, all I had to do was connect my phone to the USB port and she made the photos.  When I plugged in my phone, the computer makes the lovely chime but don't watch not the phone when you click on "devices".  So when I found this and do a right click on it, I don't have the option of opening. Very frustrating.

Thank you very much! It's actually pretty easy. People dribble on hatred of everything that is NOT useful and should be eliminated by the moderator of the site! Commons, peeps! We hear enough drib neg everywhere and it cascades (see example above). I paid more than a grand for a great HP with Vista and used for the Tech Cert class and cleaned for my son's graduation gift and he is a writer and player and he loves her and we had win7 and new free heat paste and he's still using it after 7 years. I also have older refurb that run circles around "hater peeps" with bells and whistles that they dislike. I take most of it off the coast of the new computers anywho. A very productive day and catch me on my site of the Pupsrun.com family, when it finally comes out of beta mode. :)

  • Want to try 10, irretrievably broken windows update

OK, Windows update is irreparably broken, it won't work as expected.  If I try to use it, it aspires to 1.5 GB of ram, and flat.  I give up.  Frankly, I just want to see if maybe win 10 will solve some of my hatred for 8, but I still want to give it a try.  I have a bios installed win 8 key, is there a version of win 10 oem who can see the key so I have not try to use the horrible nightmare that is updated for Windows.

As side note, I know, I know that many of the problems of Windows updates has to do with permissions and missing components, I also didn't need to run antivirus/spy because my system is really secure and I'm not sure it so that Windows can have his way with her.

  • New PC Toshiba laptop, Windows 8 is broken

I just bought a laptop Toshiba p70 brilliant, pre-loaded with windows 8. Ive tried to get my bearings as im much more familiar with XP, but im having a problem serious.

Windows Update does not work. (I tried the application of the resolution of the problems, it just gets stuck start bits service after her stop them)

Windows store does not work. I discovered this when I read that the application Microsoft Fix - It has been recommended to solve the above problem. He told me that the application was not made for my version of windows, so I tried to go to 8.1 and I can't.

Windows Firewall does not illuminate. It's just the habit. I click Activate, and he sits there and doesn't do a thing.

IM handcuffs here. The solution is a new problem. I can't update, I can't upgrade. I can't solve the problem because theres more problems. The laptop has 16 GB of ram, i7 processor, im not working do not with a dog here, and microsoft has just completely dropped the ball.

I'd also like to mention is my Toshiba Service Station will not be updated. I have Internet connectivity, Firefox and IE works, but what's new more I explore the more white screens stuck loading I receive. That's why I tried to update. Ad nauseam.

My last laptop was a l300 preloaded with Vista. And I worked around it for all of 2 weeks before the headaches became so crazy I have she dumped for XP. But this laptop was underpowered, under Vista and had much more flexibility with XP.

ID rather not have to drive all the way back to Future Shop to the difficulty a lot of questions that have nothing to do with them. Ive google of these problems, but I don't know where to start. I tried stop bits in the command prompt and it used to do. Besides, why should I pay for software that needs to be painstakingly repaired? Instead of spending hours searching, I say drop a line here could raise some results while I move on to sift through thousands of threads on this site among other people trying to get a functional operating system operational. Any ideas?

I owe you guys an apology. I solved the problem last night. While exploring the center of the action, I noticed that the firewall was turned off and I could not activate it. I opened the windows firewall settings and found the problem. Norton internet security operated instead of the firewall. It came preloaded on the phone, but I had never him has allowed or enabled services, but it is running. Have a deep hatred seed its garbage software and symantec, I removed all traces of it from the computer. Alto, EACH issue is resolved.

So is this Toshiba who charge this extra software on the operating system? Because he does not play well with windows. Once again I apologize for being quick to blame microsoft, my vista experience is to blame.

If support engineers, you first recommendation for software questions should be remove any Symantec software before troubleshooting. Maybe add it to the windows defender malware definition files as it might as well be a virus itself.

    Thank you.

  • Windows 'Blue' updated

    Sorry Microsoft,

I saw the update of Windows 8 leak "blue"... Why are you spending money to do this incredibly poor update? (as well as your unnecessary ad for Windows 8?) The Blue update is completely useless as long as you keep the METRO front end of Windows.

Why is there nobody at Microsoft, realizing as a result? Windows 8 is an UTTER failure. (way worse than VISTA) Your tablets are decommissioned. (RT and PRO) and do not sell at any significant rate. (The public perception of Microsoft is at a low of all time after the launch of Windows 8 and the sacking of Sinofsky. I agree with you that the fool had to do, but he admitted that you had mucked it all. (And which has proved to be the case).

The Windows store apps are incredibly bad. The BBC (in the interest of) to remove the ONLY application that gets its information (because even the BBC sees Windows 8 as a failure (not bother developing for) and below their level!)

Why are there not someone at Microsoft with balls enough to admit that Windows 8 is a complete and utter disaster? You spend millions for terrible advertising, promotion of Windows 8, ridiculous extensions to a pathetic end, before they develop. (I'm supposed to be impressed that I can reduce the size of a tile?, something I NEVER WANTED IN THE FIRST PLACE?)

Sorry, the only people I've seen looking at a PC under Windows 8 are retired, are looking to upgrade their computer, totally perplexed by the new operating system (they are given incredible bullshit by inexperienced sales staff have no idea either. I really need to go up to the negotiation of standards on the advice of poor quality that the idiots in these workshops give... (Piloted by the quality (?) Training Microsoft - no doubt!)

Anyone with an ounce of knowledge of computers would condemn Windows 8.  Really horrible...

You can kid yourself that Windows 'Blue' will solve all your problems, but I'm sorry, no, you won't. It's a wasted effort... The leaked video improves only my hatred of this grotesque operating system, you created. It is not even worthy of the name. It must be independent of the operating system...

As long as you provide the UI for sub-standard and (let's be honest... pathetic AppStore (the number of apps is NOT equivalent to the QUALITY))

you are looking forward to oblivion...

    Hello

I don't think that you understand exactly what the Blue patch is all about.

This update contains the most requested features and updates to existing features, with some bugfixes mixed in. This is based on feedback from customers.

This is what Microsoft calls the new normal. Usually feature updates and new features were not implemented until the next full version of Windows was released on a 3 year cycle.
