Have a plugin in C:\Program Files to load in PSE10. Have 32-bit windows

Have 32-bit windows. Have a plugin installed in CS6, how can I copy the file in PSE10?

I have xp media center version 2002, service Pack 3. The program is Neat Image. Yes, it's compatible 32-bit. I PSE10 and can use it. I have the Neat Image using CS6 plugin. For some reason, I don't know and no help from ADOBE TECH either because they led me to this method of assistance. Neat Image, depending on the modules, can be used w/PSE10.

Neat Image said to go to-C:\program files\neat image to photoshop in 32-bit windows to copy the Installation of Image file carefully.

For some reason any Program Files shows no PSE10, it shoes man PSE8, yet I can use withou PSE10 no problem.

I don't know how to fix this or change it.

Would appreciate any help. Thank you.

  • When I go into my C: / drive am I suppose to have a "program files" and a "program files (x 86)?

I have 64 bit system and when I go into my C: / drive I have a file indicating the program files and a folder of the program files (x 86). I thought that meant x 86 32 bits. Am I suppose to have both of these files and if not how did get there?

On 64-bit Windows 7, you should see two folders.

"program files" are for your 64-bit programs
"program files (x 86)" are for your 32-bit programs that have been installed and running on the 64-bit operating system.

  • Vista folder Program Files and the folder Program Files (86)

What is the significance of the differences, if any, between the Program Files folder and the folder C:\Program Files (86)?  When you install the software, is it better to let the software decide what Program Files folder to use?

    Hello Pit Bull Junkyard,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

The Program Files (x 86) folder is the default folder for 32-bit programs, Program Files is the default folder for 64-bit programs.  I suggest you leave all programs you install go to the default to avoid any problems.

Both of these files have very strict default permissions that are difficult to ignore, unless you want to create a new folder, and then save it there.

Hope this helps, please let us know status.  Thank you!

  • Can not install or save the file to the Program Files folder

Just got a new laptop with Windows 7 64-bit and 32-bit computer.  When downloading from internet programs or the installation of the CD, it won't let me save in either the Program Files folder.  (I like to keep things organized and in one place, so I would like to save all my programs it).   When I try to register there, an error message appears and says "you don't have permission to save in this location.  Contact the administrator to back up to this location.  You want to save in the case of Cheryl instead? »

I am the only user on the laptop and, therefore, the administrator.   It upset me enough that there are already files Program Files (2).  Not being not able to save the rest of my programs it makes me crazy.  Help, please!

Well first off your laptop will be either using win7 64 bit or win7 32 bit, it cannot use both, and since you're talking about 2 files Program Files then this would indicate the 64-bit version of victory

If its 64-bit version of victory, the 32-bit programs install in the Program files (x 86) and 64-bit programs installed in the Program Files folder.

Trying to force programs to be installed in the wrong folder will save issues, and may result in this program does not work.

So no, you cannot install to a specific folder in Program Files
