I've updated my laptop windows XP computer to service pack 3 in February this year, now I can't see my Flip videos. I get about Net Framework error messages
and I can't update Net Framework with my regular updates.JeanClick on link above, and then, Adobe Flash Player under download.
Adobe reads your computer and offers the correct file.
It will show your system such as...
Your system: Windows 32-bit, English, MSIE
If this is not correct right underneath click on... You have another operating system or browser.
When you search for updates, you should be notified including .NET you need.
You can check which ones you have in Add / Remove programs.

go back to a restore point before I have to reinstall service pack 2?
I need to go back to a restore point in the month of April, which is before I installed the service pack 2 (as well as other microsoft updates and ITMU), do I need to reinstall service pack 2 after I return to this restore point? Automatic update Microsoft will recognize that I went back to a restore point before and if necessary reinstall updates?
Thanks for your reply,
BobIf you use the system restore, Yes, he'll be back to your computer to a time before have downloaded you updates.
You need to reinstall SP2
Your should be notified that SP2 is available for download.
Normally, we only use the system restore to go back a week or two for the immediate problems.
All 3rd-party programs that you have installed since the restore date will also be wiped, as they did not exist on your computer at this time.
It is not recommended to go so far back in time.
You will also probably have to uninstall/reinstall your anti-virus.

have windows xp without service pack. can't download a version of a service pack. How can I do with try it with my browser I have IE 6 and I can't update until I get a service pack on my xp. Help.
Hello
Have a friend first to download SP2 for you on another computer and burn it to a CD from here - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28
Ask students to download and burn the SP3 for you (to install Windows XP SP3, you must first have SP1a or SP2 installed). They can download SP3 here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24

I have a Dell Dimension E310 Windows XP Home Edition - Road Runner server. When I want to close it I get a WDS_SL screen which I can check by
Cancel (do not answer) or by clicking end now, who's going to lose all the data (not responding) what is this & how do I get rid of the program? Help, please
That belongs to Windows Desktop Search.
You can uninstall WDS issue, reboot, and reinstall and that could help, but if I were you I would uninstall and never install it again.
WDS is a famous memory and CPU hog and I'll bet you dollars to Donuts, that your system performance suffers from installed WDS. If you uninstall WDS, your system will reward you with increased performance.
If you are forced to reinstall WDS, after you uninstall and reboot, you can download WDS 4.0 from here:

XP service Pack3, broadcom 802.11 wireless lan adapt 4.150.29.0 version needs to be reinstalled. The pilot had a mistake and while t/s one of the final solutions to try it was to uninstall the driver, then restart the computer. The pilot never reinstalled, same when I searched the Web for this with the installation wizard. Broadcom program still shows in the uninstall programs, but when I go into the Device Manager it shows device unknown, no driver installed. There is no option to roll back to a previous driver. I tried to do a system restore, and it doesn't work anymore. When I did a scan of the system with detective driver that he showed that no driver has been installed for her, but I do not have the cash flow when paying for this to have the wifi. I searched online and not able to find the driver I need on the Web site of microsoft or broadcoms. Don't know where to go from here, other that a cable ethernet... any help in getting this reinstalled driver would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! If more details are needed let me know what you need to know.
Hello
I guess that you have a laptop, if your copy of Windows was preinstalled on it there is a big chance that the driver is built into your computer. To check, click Start > double click on C: > double-click the files to program files > (locate) double-click the folder of the cabins. From there, you can install your wireless driver.
However, if the instructions above does not work, then download the driver from the website of the manufacturer of your computer, they should have ALL the drivers for your computer. :-)

I downloaded SP3 for windows xp on my laptop, I also always SP2 and SP1.
My question is: can I remove servicepacks 1 & 2 of my pc since I updated to SP3? They take a lot of space on my laptop which is slow anyway. Also how knowledge or know what previous updates for months and years can be deleted?
I'm trying to get more space on my laptop. Thanks for any help

Please note this is only for Windows XP and is not on Vista or Windows 7
Folders that have uninstall as part of the name (for example $NtUninstallKB282010$ who reside in C:\windows (hidden files) are window Hot difficulty updating folders/files) can be removed safely (providing ever, you wish to uninstall the updates). I recommend you leave these records for a period of at least one month to make sure that the update works correctly.
These updates can be removed individually or together. To learn more about the update/s go on:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/xxxxxx
NB: XXXXXX = the actual number, not to mention the "Q" or "Ko."Once you have removed the uninstall folders/files, then go to control panel, add/remove programs. Select the title of the corresponding Windows fix on the folder/file of the patch you just deleted, and select Delete. You will get a Windows error. This is because you deleted the uninstall folder/files. Simply choose OK and the entry will be removed from the Add/Remove Programs list.
