having problems connecting to the internet through wireless 8.

until the end of last month, I was able to connect through routers. but in mid-February routers have stopped working. so far, I have lived two different manufactuers of routers. Linksys e1000 and the netgear n3500l. When I run the windows of its saying network diagnostics, I have a server dns error. even when I run the diagnosis that physically connect to a modem while. internet im running via dhcp. I don't know what else to say to you guys while I get a dns error of connection through these two connection methods.

Hey Geraldoxereok,

Try to contact your ISP (ISP) to make sure that your router/network is configured correctly to receive the DNS they provide.

Hope that helps, I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Having problems connecting to the Internet

    Hello, one and all!

So, as of late I had problems connecting to Internet.  I can connect to the connection itself very well, although it shows as "Limited".  The thing that bothers me the most is that this problem is intermittent: some days, it appears, some days I have no problem with the connection to the Internet.
I have tried all the following:
    -Reset the wireless network adapter
-Contact network administrator (the link in question is a WiFi connection library; I'm the only one to have this problem, is not the connection itself)
-Enabled Windows Update for updates and install them
    -Reset my computer
At one point, I was getting an error message that says "Windows cannot communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server).  I took measures to fix that (checked the option 'DNS server automatically get an address' under the screen properties V.4 IP (TCP/IPv4)), and now it's just going back to tell me that the error is with the network (which is not the case) or the wireless adapter (which I find more likely).
I was wondering if anyone had any advice.  I have not yet checked to see if my computer can connect to the Internet via another connection, but I imagine that if it is a wireless network card problem, I have this same problem also.
My computer is an HP laptop that I bought in January 2013, and it came with Windows 8 is installed.  I had previous problems with the Internet, but in the end, these problems have been resolved with a driver update through Windows Update.  There is no such update now, however.
EDIT: I just tried another diagnosis with the troubleshooting tool, and it gives me the "Windows cannot communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)' once more.  I still have the "DNS server automatically get an address" option checked.

    Hi Jason,

This problem can occur because of corrupted network, TCP\IP drivers, or due to the damaged network card.

    Method 1:
I suggest you to check if the problem occurs with a connection cable or not.

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, I suggest you install the latest network driver on the manufacturer's Web site and check if it helps.

    The link: http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/support.html

    Method 3:

If the problem persists, I suggest you to reset TCP/IP and check if it helps.

    a. press the Windows key + X, select prompt (Admin) and on ENTER.

    b. at the command prompt, type the following command, and then press on ENTRY:

    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Note: If you do not specify a path of the directory for the log file, use the following command:

    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

    c. restart the computer.

  • Dell Inspiron 15 is having problems connecting to the internet?

    Hello

I had a problem with my Dell Inspiron 15, wireless connection to the internet for some time now. Almost daily, some time ago when I can't connect to the internet, no matter how many times I try to connect, and if I do connect, it remains only connected for a minute or two, and then I'm back to the tent to connect several times. I know it is not my router or my modem, because none of the other computers or devices in my House have the same problem. I'm the only one with these connectivity issues. I reset my router and modem regularly, thinking this may help, but it doesn't. I changed the channel on my router and which has in fact nothing, either.

For any help or suggestion would be appreciated!

    Thank you!

I have a problem connecting to the internet. A windows security message appears requesting a user name and password. I spoke with my internet provider and they say it's problems with windows. Administering the computer was an old laptop that isn't in use anymore so I can't change the admin settings. Is that what you can offer and do you need more information about me?

How you connect to the internet, dsl / comcast / wireless.

The installation disk of your ISP to the main computer, then put it to the top with a modem what ever, after that you can reload the disc of routers and probably have to reset the default password,

Once you get the configuration of your Internet service provider again then your router again you can re - enter the wireless or wired computers to the new network,

  • Problems connecting to the internet from my laptop

My phone (Samsung A NP550P5C-S02AU running windows 7 Home premium) does not connect to the modem (which is a D-link DSL-2740 b - F1)

For the past few weeks that I was able to fix this by resetting the modem/restart the laptop and I also did a full restore on the computer laptop but also completely reset the modem and updated the firmware. I also tried two different wireless, WPA and WPA2 security settings that solved the problem (although surprisingly, it worked for a few days during the passage of to WPA). For the last two days the laptop was not able to connect to the internet outside a few times where the connection lasted 2-5 minutes. We have several computers and portable devices in the House who seem to have no problem connecting to the internet, so I'm not sure of what could be the problem.

The computer that has WiFi but I want to test its dial-up access windows 2000 top. It has WiFi with utility that is necessary. It includes 12 Opera browser. As a resort last, if it is not possible at all means, ultimately, let me know how to connect to the internet through another computer via the telephone line through Internet connection sharing or network connection. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Remember, this is on the internet. Not on whether or not Microsoft does not support Windows 2000. If you tell me how it is not supported, please do not post. Internet connection will be between the two modems and two computer on Windows 2000, it has a LT Win modem and the Vista Home Basic has a CX110 in generation something like this modem. I ask this question is because my land line will not dial a number. I would like to test a dial, and if you tell me how it's slow, I use DC Unlocker to a broadband speed, so it won't be slow. • I have a problem connecting to the internet. When I click on the internet it goes straight to windows media player

Hi I have a problem connecting to the internet. When I click on the internet it goes straight to windows media player.

    HI Maria,

If you are using Vista, go to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and scroll down to EXE and click or double-click it to run the program to restore EXE file associations.  Once done, do the same for LNK entry.  This should restore your programs and get the Internet icon to go to the internet rather than WMP.  If you use Windows 7, go to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html. If you are using XP, go to http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm.

If this does not work and it started recently, try a system restore to a restore point BEFORE the problem started.  If you use Windows 7, see:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html. If you are using Vista, see:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. If you are using XP, see:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial56.html.  If the first attempt fails, try an earlier point or two because the problem may have started before you noticed.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Problems connecting to the internet with my wireless router

I have a WRT54GS v7 wireless router that I use with a modem ADSL ZyXEL P-660R-D1. during installation, I was unable to establish a connection to the internet, once my router is properly connected to my desktop computer and my modem. All the correct lights on my modem and router are turned on. Please help, I tried to turn off the two as instructed by the installation wizard, but who failed to make the internet connection works and I continued the installation process after many attempts. At the end of the installation, he said that my router has been set up, but I don't have an internet connection. What should I do to fix this?

The problem you are experiencing is caused by the fact that you Zyxel and your WRT54GS both try to use the same 192.168.1.x subnet.   Your WRT54GS will not work properly if you try to put the same subnet on the LAN ports and the port Internet (WAN).  Also to note that the installation wizard will not work in your situation, then stop using it.  You will need to manually configure your router.

There are two ways to solve the problem:

Option 1) Change the subnet in the WRT54GS.    To do this, follow these steps:

    (a) turn off your network

    (b) disconnect the WRT54GS of other devices.

    (c) connect a single computer via ethernet cable, a LAN on the WRT54GS port

    (d) turn on your computer and the WRT54GS

    (e) point your browser to 192.168.1.1 and connect to your WRT54GS

    (f) change "local IP address" 192.168.2.1, then click the 'Save Settings' button and wait (3 to 60 seconds) of the screen refresh.  You will be probably disconnected from the WRT54GS.  Don't worry about this.

    (g) take out your browser and turn off the WRT54GS and your computer.

    (h) then, using an ethernet cable, connect the Zyxel ethernet port to port Internet (WAN) of the WRT54GS.

    (i) power of your network.  It should work.

You will now access your pages of configuration WRT54GS to 192.168.2.1

Option 2) the other way to solve your problem is to change your Zyxel to 'bridge' mode  (You will need to consult your Xyxel user guide, or your ISP website, to find out how to do this).  This will convert the Zyxel a real modem, and then he won't get an IP address.  After that, you need to configure your WRT54GS to your PPPoE connection for you.

I guess that your Zyxel is a PPPoE connection.  If we perform a PPPoA connection, then does not allow Option 2 because your WRT54GS is unable to make a PPPoA connection.

    Additional notes:

You don't need to do both options.  Choose one or the other.

For a more normal web use including browsing, email, downloads, etc., or another option should work fine.  If you are an online gamer, you will probably prefer option 2, because this will make it easier to set up many online games.

  • Problems connecting to the internet using the wireless network connection

I can't connect to the internet using my wireless network connection. I had made the diagnosis and he stated that "the DHCP is not enabled for the wireless network connection. I had checked the DHCP, but it has been activated!... Someone would give any suggestion for me to solve the problem?

Open the run command box by pressing Windows key + R, type services.msc and press enter . Search The Client DHCP and check if it is enabled or disabled. If disabled then turn it on and see if the problem still persists or not.

Open the run command box by pressing Windows key + R, type cmd , and press enter . At the command prompt, type ipconfig/all and press ENTER. Now, check the IP address, default gateway, DNS etc. If you find all the information is correct, but you cannot yet access the Internet so if you connect the wireless network is secure or not. To determine the glance to the wireless network icon in the taskbar, then click on it. It will show you the available wireless networks. If there is a "yellow shield" present on the network icon, the network is not guaranteed, if there is no "yellow shield" does while the network is secure. In a secure network, you might have a "network security key. In this case try to disable the 'Network security key' option for this network. To do this:

Open Control Panel , click network and Internet , click network and sharing Center , click manage wireless networks on the left.

In the list select the wireless network and do a right click, select Properties, Security disable tab all options that is, in security type do not select no authentication (Open) and to the type of encryption , select none . You can also activate the automatic connection and SSID settings to further enhance connectivity, on the connection tab, click to select the "connect automatically if this network is in range " and "check boxesto connect even if the network is broadcasting his name (SSID) .

For more information click here and see how you can determine whether a network is secure or not.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-know-if-a-wireless-network-is-secure

If the problem still persists, then check your firewall settings and make sure that the firewall is not blocking your Internet connection. Some software Antivirus has a built-in firewall and they block by default all unknown connection to the tightening of security.

Try to restore Windows Firewall default settings. Open Control Panel click on network and Internet , click system and security , click Windows Firewall , click default settings .

Hope this will help. Thank you.
