Having to hold R to select a portion of a clip

Since the last update to iMovie, I discovered that you must hold the 'R' to select a portion of a clip.  It is VERY annoying, does anyone know a way to put back in place to click and drag to select a part of the clip? Or I'll just have to put something heavy on the 'R' key, while I'm editing?

Have you tried clicking on the clip where you want the selection to begin, then press and hold on the trackpad firmly for a while, until the yellow selection rectangle appears?  As soon as I see the rectangle I start dragging and it works without having to hold the 'R' key while dragging. Simply, I press R to copy selection when finished. But always the "press R key while dragging is shown, but I ignore it."

It works on my MacBook Pro retina with force-touch trackpad, maybe it will not work with a different trackpad.

  • iMovie doesn't let me select a portion of a clip

I use to be able to select only the parts of a clip to create a movie. I can't iMovie to display the thin yellow border. There is a thickness. The only way I can now select a part of the clip is to pull the handle of the thick yellow border to another who is not very effective.

You must now hold the 'R' key while you move the cursor over the part of the item you want to select.  You can also set it at first and click on 'I' then place it at the end and click on 'o'

  • Select the parts of a clip in a project in iMovie?

I used to be able to do this, very easy, but when I opened my iMovie last night I wasn't able to select parts.  Now, it seems to select the clip and I don't want to do that.

Is there something I need to change in my preferences - or changed iMovie and select only the parts of a clip is no longer an option?

    Thanks in advance,

    David

You're supposed to now hold the "R" key while selecting a part of a clip.

  • By selecting GeoRaster portions using SQL

    Hello

I am interested in the selection of a portion of an image stored in the format inside the Oracle GeoRaster. After reviewing the documentation, I can see that there is something useful in the oracle.spatial.georaster.image.GeoRasterImage - in particular the method:

public getRasterImage (int pyramidLevel, JGeometry window) RenderedImage

However looking at the sample code provided in the API:

    ...
an object GeoRaster reading from database based on a request
    ResultSet rs = statement.executeQuery ("" SELECT a.georaster FROM georaster_table where a.georaster.rasterdatatable =' RTD ' and a.georaster.rasterid = 1 ");
    Geor rs.getObject = STRUCT (1) (oracle.sql.STRUCT);
    construct a JGeoRaster object
    JGeoRaster geoRaster = new JGeoRaster (geor);
    get GeoRasterImage instance
    GeoRasterImage geoRasterImage = geoRaster.getGeoRasterImageObject ();
retrieve a subset of the GeoRaster object as a Java image
    RenderedImage image = geoRasterImage.getRasterImage (0,0,0,100,100);
    ...

You can see the code to get the result set uses the ID unique raster to get initial, then later in the code the subpicture is recovered by using the desired coordinates and the level of the pyramid.

But my question is this: get the set of results in this way requires the rasterid to be known as advance, who denies the whole reason/ability to select a secondary image based on coordinates/bounding box.

How can I do a SELECT statement using a box enclosing and level of the pyramid?

    I hope this makes sense

    Thank you

  • Keep having the message "Reboot and select good boot device ', but seems that there is a work around

I've read other posts on this message in the community, but think that mine is in a different situation.

A week ago, I started having this error message when I booted my PC (win8, 64-bit). Fortunately, I have the new bootable USB key. After that I tried everything I could think, (restore and refresh), this message always shows up when I start the PC. So I decided to do a complete reset to factory with the option State "delete all data".

I was able to complete the procedure. However, I see new things,

If I restart the PC, I can boot in normal mode, without the error message.

If I turn off the PC, then turn on again, the error message is back. I found that there is something for the workaround. When the system boots, I hit 'ESC' key and 'remove' to go to the bios interface, go to the 'boot' page, change the order of boot on USB, then change it back to hard drive (so in fact that there is no change), press F10 to save and exit. Then, I can boot into normal system.

Why is this? Anyone can help with this problem?

    Kind regards

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that you get an error message when you work on your computer.

This could happen because of changes made to your computer.

I would like to know some information.

    1. What is the brand and model of your computer?
    2. Have you changed boot priority on hard drive?
    3. Did you change your computer before this problem?

This problem may occur if your hard drive is not detected in the BIOS as first boot priority. You can go to the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)and change the boot drive order so that the hard drive comes first as a boot priority. You should be able to start Windows normally after you save it in this configuration.

If you would like more information on the BIOS settings, consult the computer manual or contact the manufacturer for more information.

Note: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

I hope this helps. Please let us know the results. We will be happy to help you further.

  • Having difficulty using the quick selection tools to remove the images of background form. Any help appreciated

    Hi all

I try to remove the background from images using 3 different selection tools.  I'm going fine, but eventually the images together ceases to be caught than ever the tool I use.  It is easier if you use a pro version of photoshop and not all versions of elements?  I have 11 items.

    Thank you

You are welcome. If this does not work for you, consider using a mask. The goal is to preserve the foreground and hide/remove the background...

  • Screen freezes and text operations hold after you select the text to cut or copy

Recently, I met a problem with the processor.  When I highlight text to be cut or copied, the system crashes.  The image of the screen turns off so I can still see the text but cannot move the cursor or perform all functions.  After 30 to 60 seconds, it emerges, and I can start working again.

    Hi RickSmith,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. only the problem occurs only on the program word or even Notepad?

    3. When you copy the text too?

    4. What is the problem with processing?

I suggest that you check if the problem also occurs when you use the notebook as well.

Check if the problem persists in safe mode

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Restart the computer to return to normal mode

If the problem does not persist in safe mode then I would suggest that you do clean the clean boot procedure and check.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    I hope this helps!

  • "Select inverse" equivalent - or a clipping on the top layer mask

    Hiya.

I'm looking for something in Illustrator that would allow me to do the equivalent of what a "select inverse" then delete, or would a "layer mask" in Photoshop. I haved tried various combinations of clipping mask and dedicated way without any acceptable results.

included is a screenshot of what I'm talking about:

    help with clipping mask.PNG

I was given this file and it's messy. I am wanting to delete all points except those on top of the layer gradiented.  (as this second picture).

    help with clipping mask 2.PNG

There is no living text. Currently, gradiented layer is separated the two layers and it has a line on that. Each wee point is its own form now too.

When I tried clipping or transparent traces or various pathfinder effects masks I ended with results that look like this:

    help with clipping mask 3.PNG

I am so at a loss for what to do. I tried moving layers around - which is at the top, which is located on the bottom. I tried to remove the red and black shadow-ish layers below; all sorts of other miscellanopus and so forth as well.

Any help would be simply amazing!

    1. Select all tasks and 'group '.
    2. Select the gradient objects and "copy".
    3. Stick in front of the Group Spot
    4. Make work path transparent "(Cmd/Ctrl + 8)"
    5. Small group composed of path and tasks
    6. Take the clipping mask (Cmd/Ctrl + 7)
  • Once I have selected before a track group clips how to deselect a single item?

Hey gang, new FCP convert. Really love first, but sometimes having hiccups trying to replicate some workflows. Here is one that has left me speechless and that's so specific that I'm having trouble Googling it.

Let's say I "select before you follow" (aka the tool 'A' which selects everything after where you click in the timeline panel) certain components of the package, but I accidentally includes a clip, I don't want to choose. In FCP I just keep option and click on a clip and he get selected while keeping all well highlighted. During this time I can not understand how to do this in PrPro. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thought it myself with a little more googling. In case anyone has the same problem...

Simply use SHIFT. It serves the exact same function as OPTION in FCP 7. Make sure that you "track forward selection" back to the pointer tool.

  • Volume: Best way to decrease the volume for a portion of a clip

I have an audio clip of speaking me - about 22 minutes. I knew it would be difficult to change because of its length, so I divided into eight sections and each section has recorded independently.

However, I made a couple of mistakes here and there. So instead of wasting time to record a whole clip again and again until I understand well, I have just re-recorded paragraphs which should be corrected.

So, imagine a master audio clip named Project1 in setting up first. In the track above, where the third paragraph starts, is another audio clip - Project1-3. I'm trying to understand the best way to kill the volume on Project1 - just for the duration of the third paragraph. So when I listen, I should hear the patch, Project1-3, instead of the main audio, Project1.

I checked a few tutorials, but I'm a bit confused. I thought it was something I have to do in the Source monitor, by using keyframes, but it does not work too well.

    I put a screen shot in line @ https://www.geobop.com/images/audio.png

In the upper left corner, you can see where I created a key by clicking on the Volume and selecting the level. It was set to 0 by default, so I changed the value of-20. But when I preview the video, I can still hear the sound and changes in value-20.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Thank you.

Rather than apply keyframes to the Volume setting, you will find may be easier to use the razor tool to split the audio clip called "Project1" into several segments in the timeline panel.  Then, disable the unwanted segment (select it in the timeline panel and choose Clip > enable) or raise TI (press point comma), leaving a space.

Your tracks can be difficult to hear suddenly as the stopwatch for the effect of Volume Audio is enabled by default.  If you look at the effect controls panel, while the audio is selected, you can proceed to the next and previous keyframe to see what 'level' to each key frame.

  • Selecting and moving several video clips...

Newbie here.  Sometimes, I want to be able to select several several video clips and move to a specific location, but apparently originating point changes when you select more than one clip.  Y at - it a trick to work around this problem?

    EXAMPLE:

    1. I have a clip in the upper left corner with coordinates 100 100.

    2. I have 5 other video clips to the point of coordinates 300 300.

    3. I would like to be able to multi-Select video clips 5 and type new coordinates: "100 100", and all have to settle.

    Thanks for any help!

As you have noticed, this moves top left of that to 100 100 and others to the same amount, so that three objects always have the same distance between them. That's probably what most people would.

For you, there's the Panel align. With that you can have the left corner and top objects, and they should all meet at 100 100. Make sure that the attribute Align to stage box is not checked when you do this, otherwise they will go all to 0.0.
