  Please help me diagnose what's wrong with my new laptop.

  My laptop is Dell Latitude E6440, but whenever I connect external monitor to my laptop HDMI via HDMI port to the converter VGA, the external monitor still flashes randomly every two seconds. This VGA HDMI converter / works fine when I used it on the other laptop.

  Currently I still have the chance to try my laptop HDMI port to connect directly to a HDMI monitor because I don't.

  Is it that someone has the same problem with me? Thanks for your help.

  Dell currently manufactures replacements of main card to resolve this problem. They will be available at the end of July. Please make sure you have a current subscription and contact support to be eligible for replacement.

  I bought a KENIMBENI ATV Pro to connect my new Apple TV 4 to an older VGA projector.  The KENIMBENI adapter works fine with any old 2nd Gen Apple TV.  However the Apple TV 4 simply stops as soon as a connect the KENIMBENI to its HDMI output.  Even after changing the resolution settings and perform a software update on it Apple TV (with a borrowed HDMI compatible monitor), I still do not get any signal out of the KENIMBENI.

  I used to have one of those, and it worked very well with ATV 2/3.

  I replaced my projector VGA a couple of years for a HDMI equipped one so impossible to confirm if the KENIMBENI still works with my AppleTV 1-4.

  Many were surprised that the KENIMBENI actually worked with AppleTV in the first place as she welcomed protected by DRM video to be played on the old VGA equipment which was fantastic for us with more older but functional projectors.

  You try to connect to laptop (HDMI) to TV (VGA) using an HDMI cable to VGA?
  As far as I know this is possible only if the s for computer laptop HDMI port can be set to analog signal. As much as I know this option is not available in the BIOS or elsewhere.
  So if you want to connect VGA HDMI Digital common so I have to say; It won't work buddy.

  You will need something like HDMI to VGA Converter that converts the digital signal into analog signal.

  HDMI to VGA should work fine. Type the Windows key and the P key and it will bring to the top of the projector setup toolbar.

  My Pavilion p6598uk has an ATI Radeon HD5450 with a DVI and HDMI output. I have a monitor connected to the DVI output via a VGA Converter thing, it works very well. I am trying to connect a second display on the HDMI output using HDMI cable to VGA. This does not at all. It is an OLD monitor (10 years) but works ok if I plug it into the DVI/VGA Converter.

  Monitor just says no: «No sighnal video» I tried 2 different cables and my drivers are up to date.

  Is it possible to connect an old (not HD) monitor to the HDMI output? If so, what am I doing wrong? Would this work if I bought a new HD TV to use as a monitor?

  You cannot convert HDMI to VGA without some serious gear digital analog conversion. You cannot use a device simple passthough like you can do with a DVI-I/VGA cable adapter. You will need to use an HDMI cable and a monitor that has a HDMI or DVI - I/D connector.

  I suggest get you an adapter Mini DisplayPort to VGA and plug on the Thunderbolt port (Mini DisplayPort is a subset of the Thunderbolt).

  NO it used to work and its not backward compatible.

  HDMI is a pure solid digital signal and analog VGA . A passive cable will not work for this conversion.

  You need an active adapter specifically for the digital conversion analog.

  HP Media Smart seems to have asked on 3-11, so I can only assume it is the latest version. Gawd knows where you fined the version number on it.

  When I put a Blue-ray disc in the smart software HP Medic works very well. I can see and watch the movie. When I try to connect my TV via VGA or HDMI I see that the menus and the HP Media Smart interface. There is just a black screen where the movie should play.

  The thing works very well for a regular DVD via HDMI or VGA... problem seems the disc blue ray only.

  Thoughts?

  Nevermind I got it. There are two ways to fix.

  The TV as the primary monitoring, or extend the desktop to the 2nd monitor.

The card that has a DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort output is your graphics card and not your TV tuner. Your monitors to 2509 m HP has VGA, HDMI and DVI inputs. Connect a monitor with a DVI cable and the other with a HDMI cable.
