heavy load on the database

Hi all

I have a data base (Oracle 10 g 10.2.0.1.0) on HP - UX 11.23 server. Today, I am facing problems with slow server processes. as transactions are high. the server takes a long time to process transactions. and some tables are often locked up.

When I check the top on the database server, the load is greater than 10 user is 95%, Idle is 0% and the free memory is less. I restart the application. the load is declining, but after awhile, he went.

How to improve the performance of the database, reducing the load on the server.

pls help me in this regard.

DB: Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.1.0)
Operating system: HP - UX v11.23

Thank you and best regards.

Check waiting for system events, check for waiting events in sessions where you can identify the problem and then work on that.

Don't go global for listening without any substantive work system.

  • AUD_JMS generates a high load on the database

    Hello

    We have OIM 11 g R2 PS2 installed. Our DBA said that AUD_JMS generates high loads, every 5 minutes on the database.

    I think that this will be generated by scheduled tasks.

    Do you have any idea how to do to reduce the load on the database side?

    Is there a setting guide that describes the AUD_JMS?

    The problem comes from the scheduled task ""Audit Messages task issue " "

    Is there a guide how to improve the performance of this task?

    That's the question Audit Message scheduled task that is running to process the events in the aud_jms table.  You can reduce the burden by lowering the level of verification, or by changing the amount of files being processed.

  • Heavy calculations in the database.

    Is it wise to place heavy calculations in the database?

    Lets say, we need to create in-app to calculate a problem heavy matimathical.
    In Apex, each code is run in the oracle database. What are the resources used for this calculation?

    Java database programming is only used for the extraction of the code. That's what I see in other departments. so I guess the resources of computers (where the java application is installed) are used for calculations.

    For heavy, so apex calculations always a good option?

    Raoul

    Hi Raoul,.

    It depends on what you mean by heavy calculations.

    As you say, Apex code is executed in the database, most of this is PL/SQL that runs in the server of database resources. for example, memory, processor, etc. IO. PL/SQL is a mature programming language that can be stored in a compiled state, which gives it a factor of performance approaching compiled languages such as C. While it may be true that you can get better performance of well written code compiled like C, overload caused by the first extraction of data to perform the calculations on in the first place often means THAT PL/SQL has an advantage. In other words, more calculations are the data, the better.

    I don't know what you mean by "Java database programming is only used for the extraction of the code". The database is used for the storage and retrieval of data. Java is used as a general programming language which has the advantage of running in a variety of environments. Overhead, he pays for it are that it isn't really a compiled language and therefore performed accordingly. Accordingly, it is a good language for the presentation layer, where there need work on a wide variety of customers, but you would not use it as general processing language.

    If you condition is to do some heavy math and you use a database to store the raw data for these calculations so I think that you will find the database and internal languages such as SQL and PLSQL will be run and any other environment in General and certainly much better than the Java language.

    >
    This means that Oracle has a JVM that is built into the server. This JAVA virtual machine can be used to run any Java classes that you have loaded (using the loadjava utility).

    Alternatively, you can write stored procedures that are executed in the same way as basic Java PL/SQL procedures.
    >

    >
    It has nothing to do with where the java source code is written. The java source code or the code of the class file must be loaded in the database to be executed.

    The Oracle database is unable to interact with the Java code that runs outside the database as part of the same application.

  • iMac restarts after 5 minutes of the heavy load of CPU/GPU and noisy fan

    Hello

    My iMac (late 2012 if I remember) restarts when under heavy load for a while.

    I work a lot with Final Cut Pro X.

    Whenever I have add clips in an event, Final Cut allows you to copy and then transcode and analyze the clips, and this task's CPU/GPU intensive (Final Cut Pro X uses OpenCL, where CPU/GPU). After a few seconds, the iMac fan begins to be really strong and seems to reach its maximum speed.

    Then, after a few minutes of this heavy burden, the iMac simply restarts, and the fan slows down and stop. After the reboot, everything is back to normal, with the exception of the warning illustrated by Mac OS X, who said that the closure was not planned.

    I'm sure that this behavior is not normal. I don't see why a computer should reboot/crash when under heavy load.

    Note: you can also, to transcode some clips or movies I used the excellent software called Handbrake, using CPU only encoder ffmpeg, and I don't remember having accidents even if the CPU has been loaded and FAN running loud too. So maybe it has something to do with GPU?

    How can I understand what is happening?

    Thank you very much.

  • [Database Toolbox] possibility to Load From xml file in Labview and then in the database

    Before you write in my database, I want to save it and reload if the user wants to cancel the new charge that can last several minutes.

    If he cancels the load I get back my previous database data.

    I managed to save my database in XML through the "DB tools SaveRecordSet To File" VI. This VI records directly contains my database table in the xml file. And finally, I only if the other VI to load file will do the same thing, means load the file and save it in my database but it gives just a recordset in labview.

    Question: is it possible just to load the xml file into the database directly through Labview?

    Why, finally, these screws do not have the same behavior?

    I don't know, but I just thought I would chime, that if you fail to do with LabvIEW, you might want to look by making your writing in a 'Transaction' database, if your DBM takes in charge (most except MS Access)

  • Failed to load existing records from the database on SD card during initialization of the application

    When the Simulator is launched upward, not able to load existing records from the database in the Inbox, so no records appear in the Inbox even though they exist in the database. It seems to be a problem with the SD card in the Simulator - the file system for the SD card is not correctly initialized when the application starts first to the top. During initialization of the application tries to access the SD card by using the following code.

    Boolean

    sdCardPresent = false;

    Enumeration e = FileSystemRegistry.listRoots ();

    If

    (e! = null) { }

    While (e.hasMoreElements ()) {}

    root = (String) e.nextElement ();

    If

    (root.equalsIgnoreCase("SDCard/")) {

    sdCardPresent =

    true;

    }

    }

    }

    sdCardPresent is always set to false and was not able to access existing records from the database. Once the application is initialized and try to create the database, the database is created successfully on the SD card.  The code is the same as above when creating the database and was able to do sdCardPresent = true.

    Is there anyway to register or add the SD card during initialization of the application or any property as System.setProperty overide the path of the default directory value?

    I use BlackBerry 9550 Simulator. I checked the "file system using PC for files from the SD card" and I use "C:\bb\SDCard" for the file system of thr.

    Also tested on the BlackBerry and found the same thing, if the device is hard reset, then it not reading the SD card as well.

    Mark the thread as solved then.

  • How to load at the beginning of the persistent data for an application that will implement a persistent database.

    I'm developing a smartphone application that will create a persistent database to store the data.  But I want to initially load the database.  Does anyone have suggestions as to the best way to do this?

    "How safety is the persistent database" - in my experience, very.  I worry about losing it.  The option of charging is more useful as a way to get a user wandering on the rails.

    I suspect delete cod, you will need to provide in a separate application, i.e. a separate alx, or download the jad file separate of OTA.

    Is not a snippet of code to remove a cod, have a look round I think remember me someone on this forum Announces some.

    Here's a code snippet that shows if a cod is present and if so, use it.  This cod contains only data, a little as you want.  In this case, the data is XML, which the application takes a string and then analysis.

            String moduleName = "";
            int handle = CodeModuleManager.getModuleHandle(moduleName);
            if ( handle != 0 ) {
                try {
                    String className = "";
                    Object dataObject = (Object) Class.forName(className).newInstance();
                    String dataString = dataObject.toString();

    I don't have the right backup to get it restored. While we have of any other alternative way to present this request to normal.

    Sure it's not an orphan process esssvr or something hold you on files by creating a lock.

    A simple way to find out is to stop all applications and check if you have a current esssvr process, if you kill the process and then try and start the application.

  • UCR-6002: the database specified does not have the minimum requirement to load the metadata repository.

    Hi all

    I want to install a test environment with the following software products:

    WebLogic Server 10.3.6

    WebCenter Capture 11.1.1.8.0

    WebCenter Imaging 11.1.1.8.0

    BPM 11.1.1.7.0

    SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0

    Oracle Database Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 12 c

    I use the remote 11.1.1.8.0 to create the database schemas.

    When RCU checks the prerequisites, it comes up with a warning as follows:

    «The database you connect to, is one newer than the supported version.» See the matrix of certification for the supported DB versions".

    If I type 'ignore' on the message box, it stops the verification process will not continue. Also, if I type "Cancel" does the same thing.

    The error message displayed in the Message box is both below:

    UCR-6002: the database specified does not have the minimum requirement to load the metadata repository.

    UCR-6080: Global check prerequisites failed - requirement of verification for the specified database

    The database that you connect is a CDB that is not supported.

    Action taken:

    1. check again on the database character set and confirmed it is set up correctly for AL32UTF8

    2. the databases are supported for WebCenter 11.1.1.8.0 + 12.1.0.1, so the database version is supported.

    Hope someone knows what's going on.

    Thanks in advance.

    Try to create a plugable (PDB) database within the CBD and then rerun

    the UCR.

    May be restricted the RCU to install MDS and other schemas FMW the

    CBD, but rather in the PDB.

  • Heavy binary files must be stored in the database?

    I was asked an interesting question: If a database contains all the data? Or large binary files must be stored in the file system?

    Example of large binary files: videos or PDFs heavy (+ 200 MB).

    With an old aspx web app (1.1) I tried to open a 200 MB pdf file stored as a BLOB in a base of Oracle 11 g and it has run out of memory.

    However, same asp.net web application had no problem to open the same pdf file stored in the file system on a server. It could be that maybe there is some way to open fields heavy blobs with asp.net.

    For reasons of integrity, I say that all data must be stored in the database, but my cases described showed me that maybe it's not the way.

    SQL Server allows the content of the columns of varbinary (max) to be stored on the file system, maybe there is something similar in Oracle?

    Depends entirely on how to open BLOB.
    A simple way is enter any value in table (like getArray()). It can be risky when there are great values.
    More sophisticated is to read in chunks.
    In environments such as Java or ASP.net programming should be operable methods BLOB as a stream of data. In Java, it is ResultSet.getBinaryStream)
    You can spend this additional flow, for example the browser connection. It will read the BLOB value into small pieces (or 64K) and pass it to the browser or whatever the customer.

  • How vCenter load adtribute the values of database?

    Dear brother,

    I had a question: once I've created some attributes of vCenter, I add value for them. VCenter update/insert to vpx_field_val data table. This action always is ok. But when I update/insert of some value to this table, the vcenter cannot load show them. How does it work?

    Thanks for your replies.

    Best regards

    TuongHV

    Are you up-to-date manually values you connecting to the database?  I very strongly recommend you don't do that.

    I think it's correct execute select statements on the vCenter database, but I would write only manually make off vCenter.

    Sometimes, you have to write to the database, for example if you remove the Administrators group administrators and want more to get authorities to restore access.

    If you want the script changes to attribute values that I would recommend using PowerCLI for this.  It is easier and safer.
