Help a beginner with the moving pages

Hello

I'm kinda a beginner when it comes to web design and absolutely love muse.
I came with a minor problem while doing my girlfriends website.
Essentially "treatments for the eyes" and "Waxing" pages moving slightly to the left... The only thing different on these pages is the fact that the content goes beyond the browser window in order to have to scroll down to see the rest of the text.

I think you answered your own question José!

Page is deeper than the size of your monitor screen (it does not move on my screen to 1350deep) and produced a scroll on the right bar which bumps the page to take account of the size bar.

    Using InDesign CS for Windows 5.5

    Recently updated for InDesign CS (very old one from 2003). I save a copy of all my old files version and kept the old installed ID just in case (after reading all the horror stories on here).

    In my old version of ID, I created a book consisting of some 70 documents. Some of these documents are a single page, while others have multiple pages. In the multiple documents page, I used the "insert... current page number" character (or whatever the command was in the old version) on a page master and formatted as follows, for example: Page 1 of 17, Page 2 of 17, Page 3 of 17, etc. When I exported my book in pdf format, it worked fine. (I is not have to / want page numbers consecutive throughout the book, only in individual documents.) By that I mean my whole book is about 280 pages, but not all of these 280 pages are numbered, only groups of pages in multi-page documents. It is not read page 1-280).

    Am my upgrade to 5.5 a few months ago added some documents in the book, and (if I remember correctly) when I saved the book he asked to convert each document version to the new version, I said OK. When I exported the book in pdf format, some documents that are more than 2 pages are now counted wrong; the numbers are now like this: Page 1 of 17, Page 2 of 17, Page 2 of 17 (supposed to be page 3), Page 2 of 17 (supposed to be page 4), etc. Each page, but page 1 is now page 2 of that either.

    If I open the individual document and export it to PDF, the page numbers work very well. It is only when the document is exported with the book the page numbers to spoil. And it's not all documents in my book; This error starts to a particular document and continues from there throughout the rest of the book, affecting any document more than 2 pages. Documents several pages before that point in the book for export with the correct page numbers.

    I create new documents by performing a "save under" with a previously created document and cut and paste as needed, so I won't have to reformat or implement the page numbers on each new document. I use layers or styles (I do not know there is a better way to do what I need, but I didn't have time to learn the basics, just enough to be functional.)

    My attempts to resolve this problem so far (using version 5.5), tests with the first document where the error: (1) I have removed the document from the book, removed the page number character current insert, back to the current page number character insert, saved, the individual document exported in pdf format and it worked fine. Put it in the book, save, export, and it is bad. (2) I picked up the book document, export the document to .idml, registered as a new .indd new name, exported to PDF and it worked fine. Put it in the book, save, export, and it is bad. (3) I started to the top of my old version of ID, open from the previous version of this document, exported .inx, closed, open the .inx in ID 5.5, registered as a new .indd new name, exported to PDF and it worked fine. Put it in the book, save, export, and it is bad. (4) I moved the document to the top in the order book, put it on a document which correctly numbered pages, saved, exported to PDF and this document was still evil, but one who has been numbered correctly all along is still correct. (5) I compared the settings for this document to others that the number properly and found no difference.

    It's as if the page numbers get hooked on "2" when I export the book, but only in the last two-thirds of the book. Sorry this is so long, but I hope that this description of my problem is understandable. Any advice, other than to go back to my old version documents and start over?

    Normally, I would say that this kind of problem is symptomatic of the incorrect numbering options in the book panel or an individual document or a bad update of the numbering, and those things are still definitely worth looking at.

    That said, I invite you to go to the original files, export each one to .inx and open those in CS5.5 and save as a new file .indd CS5.5 whose new name, then add them to a whole new book CS5.5. Books are pretty flakey without mixture in the conversion of files, and there are enough bad behvior file conversion directly inherited the .inx route is insurance a little success.

    I need an html page on the body of an email to send a blast to send to our customers.

    HTML emails can be a bit complicated. You can design in Dreamweaver, but you shouldn't really have to send emails of mass through to your personal e-mail account (or your company account). Could you put blacklisted by spam filters in the company and make your pretty useless email addresses.

    Mass emailings (more than a few hundred addresses) I use http://www.icontact.com.

    You can build the email through their site (without DW) or you can import your DW html file to their service.

    Some things to keep in mind with the HTML email...

    1. the use of absolute links to the images and files on a server you control

    2. use a limited amount of inline css (no external css or integrated)

    3. specify in table based layouts, css support is spotty at best with email clients

    4. thewill be eliminated a number of email clients don't rely not on what it is between theTags makes to your recipients

    5. do not use an email only to images. HTML text is very important to keep from being labeled as spam, make the secondary images in the message, many email clients will not download images without permission of the user

    6. include a link to unsubscribe so people can get off your list

  • Someone has just a difficulty to stop to open with the home page homepage?

    I see that this problem is widespread, but some of the 'easy' patches are for computer geeks only. I would like to know if anyone could tell me how to get rid of the home page without delving into the bowels of my computer? I'm not writing software, and I'm not going to jump through hoops to try to get rid of this nuisance.

    There must be more people like me who look at some of these answers and think, 'What?'... especially when you see what you see apparently when you "walk through" the steps to correct this problem.

    I think that Firefox should address this personally, since it's their update that we screwed everything. Supposedly, updates are supposed to make us 'ready to take advantage of the latest speed, flexibility and security. Yes, good. How to fix this bug, Firefox? Instead of making your users solve problems for you. This is ridiculous.

    If no one can help me to solve this problem without having to get a degree in computer science, can someone tell me how to get rid of the update total? I'll take my chances of NOT being "ready to enjoy the last speed, flexibility and security.

    I'm sorry for the frustration, but it's just simply unacceptable. We shouldn't have go through it whenever we update. Thanks for any help!

  • DataMerge with the verse pages

    I just opened an old job where we had a Brochure with some pages which has been customized with the help of a file .csv and DataMerge front.

    for some reason, if I try to do it again in our current Version of the 2015.4 of the InDesign CC it is all messed up.

    And with messed up I mean that for each 'line' of the. CSV, I get correct output in my .pdf file, BUT each page for ALL ranks is double 1 x published data, 1 x white.

    So that's how:

    Page 1 - data

    Page 1 - no data

    Page 2 - data

    Page 2 - no data

    Page 3 - data

    Page 3 - no data

    Page 4 - data

    Page 4 - no data

    This is repeated for each line of the. CSV.

    I don't have this kind of problem when iam using unique pages (unfortunately that's not how the brochure was sad to the top and it would be a lot of work to change as each page has an image across two pages + text on two pages)

    If I generate an InDesign file first and go from there, it works but the .pdf of the generated output is very large compared to the directly generated .pdf file.

    I hope this isn't too complicated - is this a known bug?

    No idea how I could fix easily?

    Which is kind of how I did today.

    I have appointed a new Document without coating pages and re-created everything from scratch.

    Isn't that easy since all the pages had an image and also text on two pages that also had him Datamerge tags within the text.

    So I have learned for the future... no facing for Datamerge pages!

    I was hoping I could avoid re-creating the entire document / splitting of the texts and images so that they will fit 100% etc.

    The work is done now - and iam still not sure if this is a feature or a bug.

  • Help for problems with the functionality of Capture from Adobe

    I recently installed Adobe Capture on my Smartphone (Android device) and the app is very cool.  However, after a few weeks of use, the software stops working.  I uninstalled the software and reinstalled to see if that would help solve the problem.  Unfortunately, it has not solved the problem.  Adobe does not provide an over-the-phone technical support for this product, so I hope someone here can help.

    Recreation of question:

    When you start the application, there are four 4 functions:

    1. Colors
    2. Forms
    3. Brushes
    4. Looks like

    In the lower right corner of the screen, we see a sign '+', which, depending on which function you select, invite the user to 1) select from the cloud or 3) take a new photo 2) select a picture in the camera.  When you select an option, Adobe Capture executes the designated function and the State final changes / outputs on the picture are visible.

    However, when you try to accept or to save changes / outputs, the screen seems to hang up and return to the initial splash screen.

    Can provide you any assistance?

    I'm really sorry that capture does not work as it should. This is a known issue in the app and the team is working on a beta version with a fix. I hope that it will be available before the end of the week, but I'm not totally sure of the timeline.

    A couple of other things:

  • Problem with the Search Page

    I'm building a SearchPG. After you have created the VO object and view criteria I drag the view to the SearchPG criteria. When I run the search page I have two questions

    1 > I get 2 fields, i.e. If I search based on a work table and I created a variable binding to JobTitle (i.e. jobName) I see the JobTitle areas (from the select clause) and jobName (variable binding in the search box. I guess I should get only the jobName (bind variable) in the search box.

    2 > the bind variable is necessary. How can I do this as an option

  • Presented with the download page empty for update of Flash Player 13

    I tried to upgrade to Flash 13, but every time I get to the download page (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) the images on the page are disappearing and I'm left with a blank page.

    I need to update this - what's happening on Earth? I hope someone can help?

    I use Windows 8 64-bit with bang up to date Firefox. I disabled Adblock Plus for the page and tried to turn off my anti-virus software to allow the download, but it is still empty.

    Download the FULL offline install:Flash Player plugin (all other browsers)

    Close Firefox, and then run.

  • How to maintain spreads after the moving pages from one file to the other?

    I'm bringing together several chapters of books into one Indesign file, by clicking on the thumbnails in the Pages panel and selecting 'move Pages... "in the context menu.

    The problem I have is that I can't keep the flow of the page between the chapters on the destination file, resulting in a spread broken between chapters when exporting to PDF format. Here is a screenshot to illustrate the problem, seen here between 18 and 19 pages:

    I tried to turn on and turn off the following options on the source and destination documents but nothing changes:

    -To spread selected to Shuffle

    -Allow to the Pages of the Document for Shuffle

    I also deleted all sections of the destination document (as you can see on the screenshot, page 19 doesn't have the little black arrow that indicates a new section), with no chance either.

    I also tried dragging the thumbnails manually but nothing helped. I just can't understand how to keep the spreads between chapters together page.

    Can someone help me with this?

    In your turned scewwn, pages 14-18 are configured to not mix (you can tell by the [] aroound the numbers). Set the Shuffle and all should be well.

    You have been close to answering your own question right along but access to your workspace and making the fix will not help you to learn this valuable concept.

    Now take this statement and apply it to your form. What happens in "Create" "Update" mode, versus mode? A create button usually against an apply changes button. So go back to early solution of Gus; apply a condition to the item you want to hide based on how you want this condition to be taken into account. In other words, your buttons are already conditioned; all you have to do is to apply the same State to your item.

    I installed Adobe Acrobat Professional (writer). And created a pdf document. the pdf file contains images, each on his page. The problem is when I save or preview the document, some images are not sized for his area of page (or fit to page). Please check attached picture to see the problem.

    To resize the image, you need to select with the object tool and drag the buttons on the sides and the corners to resize it.

    Much of what you do can be done in Acrobat, but this isn't the ideal application for such actions. Acrobat isn't really an editing tool, but a tool to create a finished product that provides essentially platform independent product. You might find what you want to do is best done in a word processor or page layout tool, then a PDF file created from this result.

  • Passing the user name to a recordset with the login page

    I help develop a page for one of our courses at our school.  Is it possible that when you create a login form and authenticate on a new page that the user name also get sent to a recordset so that it can be used to fill hidden fields, to other forms on the new page?

    Yes. If you use the built in the behavior of connection DW, DW will put the user name in a session variable. Look carefully in the login code to see what we call this variable. If you use ASP this session variable is called MM_Username. In PHP, there is an equivalent, but I don't remember now how it's called. If the page with the recordset is to display only the data that user, filter the recordset on the username column by using the Session variable setting and enter the name of the session variable in the text box.

    You can have AN index page at the root of the server at a time.  You must remove the unwanted (php). When you do, your index.html page will go up.

  • 2 columns with the correct page breaks

    I am producing a presentation of 2 columns in my form.

    The problem is: these columns span several pages and I can't right page breaks.

    I have a provision passed with two adjacent subforms that make my columns. In these column subforms I fill out a lot of data from XML.

    Problem 1: I get bored about 5 rows at the end of the page. They disappear into the page break.

    Problem 2: my second column starts to fill up on the second page (which is be the page where the first column ends).

    I also tried with a single table with exactly one line. But it disappear all lines after the first page and I get empty pages instead.

    Has anyone ever encountered this problem?

    What is a good way to build dynamic forms of 2 columns?

    You will not be able to move beyond a page, then return to the previous page... .the data must be split so that the complete presentation of a page should occur before moving on to the next page.

    You can't go back in the time layout a page is complete... Sorry he just can't do that.

  • How to make the apDivs to adjust with the centered page
