help external drop-down list

I downloaded a drop-down list widget and add in the list for different sections like list countries, list of post and living in State. I added the position and the list of the countries very well, but when I added to the list of State he adds to the list of countries well on a widget to separate list menu and the list of countries is becoming a long line of text and I lost the drop-down list. Why is this happening? Download widget is called

Help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello Walter.

This seems to be a small problem with the widget itself, I would say you contact the developer of the widget and they would be able to check and correct the problem in the widget.

Kind regards

  • New to LiveCycle.  Need help with drop-down lists.

    I just started playing with LiveCycle with PDF Forms.  One thing that I wonder if it is possible to do the link of the selections available in the drop-down lists.  For example, on a form with one question on this subject, I have 5 possible answers as the "ranking of your favorite in the order of most loved at least liked fruits".  Then I have a series of 5 drop down list with the first box containing boxes "Apple, pear, fishing, strawberry, grapes.  Is it possible to have someone to make a selection in the first box, their fruit in the list, and then the second box would have four options to choose?  Say if apple was their favorite, only, pear, fishing, strawberry and grape would be selection?  I tried to find an answer, but I'm afraid I don't know enough about the capabilities of LiveCycle, and/or how to work with scripts (I think that's what I see people using).  If someone could take the time to try to push myself through this, I would appreciate it, of course.

    Here's a form to date. I had to get help from a programmer friend, so it is a code evolved. I used a script object to reduce the volume of code.

    Take a look and let me know what you think.

  • Help with drop-down lists

    I am using LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 in Windows 7 and I have created a form here: http://olympicanimalsanctuary.org/volunteerapp.PDF

    I have two drop-down lists in the form, under the heading "internship seekers only" on the right side of the first page.  I created these manually, not with any code. When I try to click on the drop down menus in preview mode, as well as in Acrobat and online, the lists will not be open.  They Flash open for a split second, then close it again before I can click on my selection.  Someone else has the same problem with my form, or is this a problem on the end of my computer?  Any suggestions?  I have read some other forums where people have this problem with the drop down menus in other applications as well, but I only have this issue with my own form.

    Today is my first day using this application, so please, be gentle.

    Thank you

    Steve

    Hello

    I suspect that the drop-down list of objects has become corrupt or you have copied the object and then changed its type in a drop-down list or the object picked up the attributes of a shipment by the subject of the e-mail message.

    If you select the drop-down list and go to the XML Source, you will see the click event script is set to "mailto:"

    Solution is always the same - a drop-down menu again drag the shape.

  • Help: Autofill numbers in drop-down list to another table

    Hello world

    Does anyone know how to automatically fill in a table of the value of the other table, based on the selected menu drop-down on the main table.

    As you can see on my pictures, my main table, I have a drop down list, so I have to be able to automatically to the second table based on the category that I chose to put the quantity. For example, I choose LIFE, then the amount will also be the second table where the arrow is pointing. What will be the formula on the designated table?

    Thank you.

    Hello Adrian TitikTemu,.

    As a reminder, you want autofill value of 1 sheet on a column on sheet 2 in number. One of the members of our community of colleagues gave some great instructions on how to proceed in this post:

    https://discussions.Apple.com/thread/7554247?start=0 & tstart = 0

    The response of Apple recommends that Barry has a few milestones to help in a situation like this.

    Please ask this question in one of the Windows Apps development forums:

    http://social.msdn.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/category/windowsapps

  • list - restrictive entry visibility and external xml file in the drop-down list

    The question applies to the OPA 10.1, but if a solution requires a version more recent OPA (e.g., 12.1) we can update so please let me know what version your answer applies to.

    I have a series of tabs of a spreadsheet Excel that map different categories on each other and I want to implement this OPA so that there are six screens with drop-down lists and visible elements two on-screen menu will depend on the selected item in the display 1. list to display 3 items will depend on the selected item in the screen 2, which depends on the item selected on the screen 1, etc..

    For example,.

    1 screen can be States:

    Maryland

    Virginia

    New York City

    Georgia

    ...

    2 screen could then be counties: assuming that Virginia has been selected...

    Accomack

    Albemarle

    Alleghany

    ...

    3 screen could be cities: assuming that Accomack is selected...

    Exmore

    Parksley

    ...

    Basically I have large spreadsheet list of lists with items (one list a 2040 pieces) and so I can't manually enter easily list items.  I would like to 'specify the name of the list' and have the OPA to use an xml list (easily created my spreadsheet), but the OPA Help menu says "NOTE: this implementation of the xml list does not support default values or visibility...» "So it seems that I won't be able to make invisible inapplicable list items.  So, to use the fictitious example above, if I chose the State of Maryland, I will not applicable to Virginia or any other State counties, but Maryland is visible; Yet, all counties in the country should be included in the list in the first place.

    If someone knows a solution or another solution to this problem (other than creating custom functions) so please let me know.

    "Out of the box' for 10.1 you can try the following:

    Have simply a separate list for each of the sub-components. He can do even a little painful, but you have not at least custom functions or custom controls.

    On the first screen you have the attribute collection the State using the list of States (provided via xml).

    On the second screen you have the County collection attribute - but repeated 50 times - and then use visibility to show/hide the template you want (which then has the correct xml for the counties in the State).

    On the third screen you have your attribute for the city (once again the same attribute for each list) but isn't there it gets a little mean to 50 times counties in the State.

    In terms of writing that required visibility rules that you can probably leverage Excel to do much of the building of the rule for you to lists (remembering that the compiler takes that you as the user see in Excel, not the function that sees Excel)- so there is not a lot of extra work in the perspective of rules.

    The sticking point will simply put all of these attributes and binds the attribute visibility for the right control (and right xml).

    Proceed with caution (extreme!), but... If you're already Automation to create the XML lists from Excel, then you might want to automate the creation of xml screen. But be very careful. I've seen some projects that have used automatically generated screens and they did the job of the ok - but certainly a warning any time major health you do not use OPM to generate a component of OPM.

    Then... it is possible to do it manually - but you probably want to get involved some automation.

  • I think it would be helpful if when you open the drop-down list for a 3D object keyframe controls have the same color as the 3D arrows in the project window.

    Print-screen-mobile-LO-070615.jpgPrint-screen-tablet-LO-070615.jpgPrint-screen-desktop--LO-070615.jpg

    I built the site of "fluid" and that's great, up and running and I am delighted!  A big thank you to the DW forum. URL is: tyndall.net.au

    Now, I want to add a drop-down in the three 3 sizes: mobile, Tablet and desktop. And I want it to develop the ' Services ' section. On the 'Services' page there are links to 21 different types of services.

    It is these types of different services, have to be displayed in the drop-down list button.

    Objective: in hover mode, the fall down to look identical to the head key, centered with a complete history! To inherit.

    You can see on the screenshots:

    In Mobile, there is a complete history, but it is not centered and not the same size

    Tablet & Desktop - background not complete, not centered, not the same size

    I can't find a tutorial on this issue. Tutorial of Daniel Walter - Scott in BYOL helped a long way, thanks mate.

    Can someone help me with this problem?

    It's these types of different services, I should show up in the drop-down buttons. >

    Drop-down lists that appear to move the mouse do not work on touchscreens because they do not have a mouse.  The current trend is to keep the navigation simple & simplified.  21 links dropdown under Services is going to be too expensive for mobile users.   Just keep the simple navigation with a link to the Services page you did and your users will have fewer problems with your site.

    Either way, justified text links seem strange.  See screenshot.   You can see that.

    Finally and most importantly, provide enough space between links to help mobile users.  Android recommended that links be 10mm high providing for easier faucet finger gestures.  When the links are stacked too close together, which makes it very difficult selecting the link desired without the aid of a stylus.

  • Help adding textfield with drop-down list selects

    I have a PDF with a drop-down list field called "SoftwareList" with a default value of "Select the software" and a text field called 'SelectedSoftware '. You can freely type in the text field to communicate your needs, or choose the menu drop-down. I want to add in the text field, which is selected in the drop-down list each time. I had the following script to fix this as a custom text field calculation script:

    If (this.getField("SoftwareList").value! = "Select software")

    {

    this.getField("SelectedSoftware").value += this.getField("SoftwareList").value + «»

    }

    The problem I have is that it will continue to add to the text box with everything that was selected last in the drop-down list when you click on other fields in the form, such as check boxes. I tried this put on different actions both at the key sequence in the Properties tab of format, but did not work there. I added the following line, which helped, but it is still a click of the addition until it changes, duplicate the last pick:

    this.getField("SoftwareList").value = "select the software."

    Appreciate help with this.

    I would like to use the script validation custom from the drop-down list. You can use something like this:

    If (event.value! = 'Select Software') this.getField("SelectedSoftware").value += event.value + ",";

    To ensure that the update as soon as a selection is made to check the option to validate the selected value immediately under properties of the menu drop down, tab Options.

  • Related question drop-down list help

    In my dropdown menu, I have several different time zones and they are all related number of UTC offset. The problem is that when I click on a zone (for example Russia), he returned to the zone which precedes it in alphabetical order with the same offset from UTC. This is problematic because many different countries sharing the same UTC offset (that is-14-14).

    I wonder if there is a way to stop the drop-down menu to change automatically in a different time zone that has the same offset or if there is a way to get into the drop-down list and add all variable offsets.

    I'm new to JS if possible sentence there for a beginner. I never used before livecycle but know C++ and Java, and will have a hard time setting. With all the resources out there, it is difficult to find a good place to get a Uni livecycle background so if anyone has recommendations on the reference material so I would be interested in this good.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    The problem is that the bound value represents the value of the object, so that it always displays the first item in the display which corresponds to the bound value.

    We know by one of the LC Designer, setItems(), methods that Adobe will at some point in the future allow us to link several values in a drop-down list object. However for now you cannot have a single value given.

    But there is always a workaround solution. If you set values the display of elements to include the country. Thus, for example for a display item «Russia», the bound value would be "Russia,-14 a 14.

    It is a unique value in the drop-down list, so it will not solve the current problem.

    The last step would be to analyze parts of the bound value, so that you get the offset of UTC, which you can then use in your script.

    There is an example here: http://assure.ly/HjRnIN.

    Hope that helps,

  • Help! Script to populate a field of text based on whats selected in a drop-down list to a page?

    Well I hope I can explain this well enough.

    I have a drop down list that has two different options to choose from.  For example:

    Dropdown1 has: Option has

    Option B

    On the other page, I have two text fields.  TextField1 shows just what is levied on the Dropdown1 (Option A or Option B).  TextField2 must do the following: If Option A is taken I just need the field to remain a Virgin.  If Option B is taken out I need to fill a specific text.

    I thought that I found a way to do it, but it seems that since it's on another page the script will not pull.

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Hello

    You can download Acrobat.com and then publish the form. Once you have published, you can copy the link and share it here.

    In my example, I used the name of the first object "TextField1" for example. If your first object is named differently, you will have to modify the script accordingly.

    There is an example on how to reference objects here: http://assure.ly/kUP02y.

  • Need help to fill in a text box in a drop-down list.

    I think I have most of the code and correct settings, but I need help.

    I have a drop down list that is populated with 3 States. When a certain State is selected in the drop-down list, I need a text box to fill with tax information for each State. I list them set up variables that define the drop-down list data and the data that I want to appear in the text box. I also code basic javascript in place - but it is not perfect.

    The problems I'm having with the dynamic .pdf file include:

    1. where a State is selected in the drop-down list, the user must first click the text box so that the appropriate text appears in the box.

    2. when a State is selected in the drop-down list and the user clicks on the text box to display the text of tax info, tax info text does not change as it should if a user selects a different State in the drop-down list.

    3. the tax information in the text box will appear for 2 States (what is because the variable list that I put in place for these States has too many characters of text? Is there a way to bypass this limitation?)

    Can someone help me change the javascript code and settings that I use to make the text field to fill in correctly? It is the first project of livecycle that I tried and my first experience with javascript.

    Here's the file I'm working on:

    http://www.filedropper.com/outofstatetaxtemplate2

    Just discovered this chapter sample of Peachpit Press which talk about whatever it is you are trying to do.

    http://www.Peachpit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=1021020&seqNum=4

    They provide even a sample download in order to examine the code. Change the numeric field in a text field, and you're all set.

I mean, if I choose 'Opt1', 10 drop-down lists related to 'Opt1' will become visible (the drop-down list together, including the text of the title and the clean drop-down list). Otherwise, if I choose 'Opt2', 10 drop-down lists related to 'Opt2' will become visible and the same 'Opt3 '.

    This problem, which seems to be very easy to resolve, it is impossible for me. I have read hundreds of forums and manuals, but I can't find the solution. I tried with several thousands of events, but I can't do the form works as I want... So, please, can someone help me?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

    Here is an example. The script is located in the event of changing the drop-down list. The easiest way is to group your drop-down menus in subforms, then simply script for the visibility of three subforms, instead of 30 drop-down menus.

    The script focuses on the choice of the user and changes the visibility by using a switch statement. One if exposed to the exit event would work as well.

    switch (xfa.event.newText)
    {
         case 'Option 1':
              option1.presence = "visible";
              option2.presence = "hidden";
              option3.presence = "hidden";
              break;

         case 'Option 2':
              option1.presence = "hidden";
              option2.presence = "visible";
              option3.presence = "hidden";
              break;

         case 'Option 3':
              option1.presence = "hidden";
              option2.presence = "hidden";
              option3.presence = "visible";
              break;

         default:
              option1.presence = "hidden";
              option2.presence = "hidden";
              option3.presence = "hidden";
              break;
    }

    Note that all three subforms are hidden in Design view. The drop-down list choice makes the appropriate subform visible.

    In design mode, you can select a subform in the view of the hierarchy and in the object/field tab change its visibility to visible, if you want to work on it in the design.

    Hope that helps,

    Niall

  • Help to the drop-down list items in list making invisible field

    On the attached form, I have a drop-down list "Item". How can I get the items in this list make the text field "embroidery" visible or invisible depending on the element selected?

    My programming skills are very basic, livecycle as I am just getting into this. Any help would be appreciated.

    Tom,

    hope this is what you were after.

  • Help with the drop-down list boxes

    Hello.  I am working on a form that contains three drop-down lists that have different names.  All three have the same point selections, but I want that each of the three to automatically fill in its respective field (it is essentially a price sheet where up to three elements may be selected and you'd see every price indicated in front of it).  I got concerning depression the 1st drop to fill its field using the script "setvalues.

    However, when I try to create the following scripts for two other menus, it seems that I finally, create all three drop-down lists that all fill in the very field that corresponds with the latest script, that I added, instead of the respective field. To clarify, after 1 was created, it works normally.  When I create a second script for the 2nd menu drop-down & price field, both drop-down lists only affect the 2nd price field.

    I assured the fields have different names, and these names are specified in each script.  I do not understand why acrobat would allow, when the script specifies the field that I entered.  It is essentially in a field that isn't in the script.  Of course, I am a novice, so any idea how works this process is very appreciated!

    Thanks for your reply, George!   I really love it!  What I was doing wrong placed the code in the javascript Document, so it was essentially apply the script all dropdowns.  What I did instead was delete and go in each drop-down list individual and added the script as the custom format script.  Just in case someone else did the same thing, here's the script that I use [details omitted to save space...]

    Put all vorkriegsbevölkerung data in a single data structure

    var LaborCode = {SelectCode: {cost: ' '},}

    XYZ {cost: "123.45"},

    };

    function SetFieldValues (cLaborCode)

    {

    this.getField("LaborPrice").value = LaborCode [cLaborCode] .cost

    }

    Thank you!!
