Help! -I can't delete messages in my Inbox in Outlook Express 6

Hello.
I can't delete messages in my Inbox in Outlook Express 6. An idea

1. move all the messages that you want to keep out of the folders Inbox, sent items and deleted items and in other local OE folders have created you for archiving (backup) of such messages.

2. Note the location of the store of your identity (http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain).

2B. turn on "Show hidden folders and files" via start | Control Panel | Folder options | View (see http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html).

3. close OE.

4. in Windows Explorer, navigate to your storage folder, find & delete the files Inbox.dbx, Outbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbxand Deleted Items.dbx.

5 empty the trash.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To avoid such problems in the future, comply with the following restrictions:
N ' not use Inbox or sent items to archive messages.  Move them to local folders created for this purpose.
-Empty the deleted items folder daily.
-Frequently perform a manual compact of all OE while records that "work offline".  More on http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm
-Do not cancel automatic compacting, where it would happen and do not try to close OE via Manager tasks or stop your Automatic compaction machine can take place.
-Disable e-mail scanning in your antivirus application.  It can cause corruption (i.e., loss of messages) and offers no additional protection:
  • How can I delete messages in my Inbox that I don't have anymore
    Hello
    I followed a person here, when they gave me help I thought I'd be able to ask another question, but I got about 20 messages that this person answered a question, someone asked if I'm now all of his answers, I of course knew not what to expect lol.
    Is it possible that I can delete messages I've read and that you don't need more please.
    Thanks in advance
    Tracey
    First of all, you can go to messages unread only above for messages. Then use the brand as the "Read" command to hide others - assuming only read the ones you want. In the upper right corner of an Inbox thread is hide a new activity option. Click here to stop old threads appearing in your Inbox for new messages. And unfollow the person!
  • How can I delete messages in my Inbox in thunderbird?
    New to Thunderbird. I have 200 + messages in my Inbox and cannot find anywhere no deleting individual messages icon. Where is he?
    You can add a delete button to the e-mail toolbar to right-click and select Customize. Find the button Delete in the window that opens and then drag it to the toolbar.
    You can also activate the message pane by pressing F8 and use the button remove the header of the Message pane.
  • I got a partial answer to my question about "how to delete emails from the Inbox in Outlook Express. Can I track my original request with a follow-up of the issue?
    Thank you very much for your answer.
    Outlook Express is listed on the Start button.  Following your instructions,.
    I clicked on start, Control Panel, Folder Options/view.  Point of view, a list of Options have been posted and some have been checked, including 'display the hidden files and folders '.
    I do not know how to find Inbox.dbx.  I still find 41 messages in the Inbox, 78 in the deleted items and 14 in mass mailings.  When I click on "remove" messages, I get a message - "the server is not found. In addition, unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server.
    "I uncheck" "include this account" so then, I probably is no longer get emails in Outlook Express.  My hard drive is pathetic looking.  I find a small "Ribbon of pink pie (unused space) and in the rest of the cake shape is 'BLUE'.  I thought that E-mails from Outlook Express can be responsible for my hard drive being so full. After I empty all these junk emails in 2008, I have to know what else I can remove to open more space on my hard drive.
    Thank you for your patience and for your help.
    After deleting messages in OE, go to file | Folder | Compact to reduce the size of the folder.  Otherwise removal does not affect the size of a folder.  You should probably go to file | Folder | Compact everything to reduce all sizes of folder in OE.  I would like to make a backup first.
    For more free space on your disk, click Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Cleanup.
    It is not best to start a new message when you are tracking on another, because nobody knows what you're referring to when you the previous thread.  I managed to find it well and Bruce said: ' tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run '.
  • Impossible to delete the Inbox in outlook express
    I've had problems with Outlook Express 6.0 for a couple of minths now.  I can't delete messages in my Inbox and I can't drag those I want to save to other folders.  It is also extremely slow to open now.
    Any ideas that I can do to get this back to the way that it work use dto?
    I don't know what happened because of this problem.
    This can be difficult if you have messages in the Inbox you want to save, so let's start with what is safe.
    Create a new folder deleted items with no message in it that you want to save.
    Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
    In Windows XP, the files of user OE (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.
    With OE closed, find the DBX file for deleted items and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.
    Close OE, reboot and see if you can move messages from the Inbox to a folder created by the user. After the return. There is much more to do.
  • Windows Mail - can't delete messages
    I've upgraded to WIndows 7 but you need to go back to Vista to save some key files. When I went back to Vista, I found that I can't delete messages from Windows Mail in my Inbox, sent items and my Outbox. My Outbox sends constant messages not deleted (I remved the addresses between no sent items to prevent their shipment amultiple times). Error messasges include:
    * "An unknown error has occurred."
    * "This message could not be deleted.
    * At the start of Windows Mail, this message appears "a few errors have occurred while proecessing tasks. Please see the list of errors below for more details". However, it is not all the details listed.
    I tried to install the update KB941090, but I get a message that it is not applicable to my version of Windows.
    I have Service Pack 1 installed and have tried to install Service Pack 2 for Vista, but it will not be installed.
    I can't delete messages on my blackberry. Instead, they are marked with a yellow star as a priority. How to solve this?
    Open your Messages folder.  Select the date at the top with your trackpad, and then press the menu key.  Select Delete before and click Ok.  Once you have done this, your messages may still be there.  Remove the battery while your phone is on, then replace it a few seconds later.  Open your Messages folder once more and see if your rogue messages are still there.
    Very strange, usually if there is no "Basket" file, when you restart Thunderbird, it should create a new.
    Try this:
    Open your profile folder.
    Close Thunderbird.
    In "Mail" / "pop.ziggo.nl " - where do you see your files as files.
    Right-click in the empty space and select 'New' > 'text Document '.
    A file called 'New document texte.txt', a 'text Document' will appear.
    Rename this "basket", with a capital T and without extension.
    It will tell if you change a filename extension, the file may become unusable, are you sure you want to change it? Click Yes.
    Close the window and restart Thunderbird.
    Now, try to delete an e-mail message.
  • I can not delete messages in Outlook Express 6.0
    Everything worked fine until I started my 'sent box' deletion. There where a lot of messages in there and I was remove from groups of 10 people or more. Some of them had more away in each group. I came to one who has had multiple (I had sent photos). It's where he hung up.
    I moved what I wanted to keep and have used Items.dbx, inbox.dbx, Outbox.dbx, sent, and Deleted Items.dbx, etc..
    All the these are empty now and are in the trash, but still I can't delete messages. I can move their correct. I can receive and send okay
