• Need help to fill in a text box in a drop-down list.

  I think I have most of the code and correct settings, but I need help.

  I have a drop down list that is populated with 3 States. When a certain State is selected in the drop-down list, I need a text box to fill with tax information for each State. I list them set up variables that define the drop-down list data and the data that I want to appear in the text box. I also code basic javascript in place - but it is not perfect.

  The problems I'm having with the dynamic .pdf file include:

  1. where a State is selected in the drop-down list, the user must first click the text box so that the appropriate text appears in the box.

  2. when a State is selected in the drop-down list and the user clicks on the text box to display the text of tax info, tax info text does not change as it should if a user selects a different State in the drop-down list.

  3. the tax information in the text box will appear for 2 States (what is because the variable list that I put in place for these States has too many characters of text? Is there a way to bypass this limitation?)

  Can someone help me change the javascript code and settings that I use to make the text field to fill in correctly? It is the first project of livecycle that I tried and my first experience with javascript.

  Tried your code. Got a popup saying:

  Error: addChild() is not available in this category. Instead, use addElement(), or change the skin, if you have a.

  MyCanvas.addChild (myRichEditableText) has changed; at myCanvas.addElement (myRichEditableText); and it worked.

  But you must use a HGroup, a VGroup or a TileGroup instead of a BorderContainer... You wouldn't have the x value and y the text manually box.

• Help to change all the text boxes in a book

  I'm new in Indesign CS4.  I want to format book for two sizes of printed book.  When I change the predefined attributes of Document it does not apply to the size of the text boxes.  How can we re - format all the dimensions of the text box at the same time?  The book is 600 pages - too many to go through and resize each page separately.  Thank you!!!

  If text blocks were originally from the master page and you have done nothing more text to throw in, you can change the frameworks of masters and the images on the pages will change also, but if you have changed the framework anyway after flowing text, everything you have changed now irreversible of the master.

  A second option is if the blocks of text are in contact with margin guides all around, go to the Layout > setting layout... and turn it on until you change the setting statement. Managers will adjust to the new margins.

• Help with a script that converts the HTML object text box

  I don't know anything about programming scripts and unfortunately inDesign isn't any panel actions as Photoshop..

  I need a script to convert a text box with HTML code inside a HTML object... I think not, it should be very difficult

  How could be the following:

  (1) select the text box
  (2) cut all text inside
  (3) remove the empty box
  (4) select selection tool
  (5) go to OBJECT/INSERT HTML
  6) paste it into the code before you cut the text box
  (7) OK and close the menu INSERT HTML code

  If the Script works, we could change with HTML code inside a text box to an object HTML (video, card, animations,...)

  The first step could be manually selecting each text box or by selecting all of the boxes that start automatically by "< iFRAME '

  I have a weird problem that it seems to be a difficulty for and I need help

  I have three text boxes that I transformed into buttons with States

  on two of them, States are fine, but on one of them, States seem to come to an unknown format

  I tried updating the States, but that change does not spread through the web site

  I tried to add it to the library, no help

  I tried to remove it and it comes always bad return

• Automatically change the size and have a fluid for dynamic text boxes

  I am seized of text from a thread xmle in the dynamic text boxes. I have boxes of static text that titles each.

  I need help to make the dynamic text boxes if the xml text is larger & move the static text boxes, so that they don't start writing more.

  The code that I used to make the text in the dynamic areas is very simple:

  You must set your dynamic text boxes autoSize property, while they will increase if necessary:

  staticTitle2.y = dynamicText1.y + dynamicText1.textHeight + 10;

• Japanese fonts are cut by pix 2 or 3 on each text box, among other...

  I was really hoping that this issue would be resolved with Captivate 4, but no luck.  I'm working on a Japanese English PC inputing through an IME, and each unique text box has problems.  Or fonts are cut on the top by 2 or 3 pixels, otherwise they swell in somewhere between a normal font and a bold font.  Not a single text box will make what it looks like in Captivate before I saw it.  Everything looks wonderful in Captivate, but no matter how I saw or make, it's just awful.

  Any help is very appreciated!

  First of all, I assume you mean legends of text here?

  Assuming I'm reading correctly, I wonder if you tried to set the margins for the legend type you are using. For example, if you use the type of legend blue Adobe, when we look at where Captivate has been installed

  (for me on my own PC for Captivate 4, I look here):

  D:\Program Adobe Captivate 4\Gallery\Captions)

  You should see the files ending with .fcm.

  For the type of blue legend Adobe, find you five of them:

  

  If you change each and adjust the margin values. Then create a new project and use the legend type Blue Adobe. See if that makes a difference in the appearance of the font. I am not sure, it will be, but it can't hurt to try. Who knows, it may just solve the problem.

• Why my links do not work in the text box next to the e-mail in Outlook?

  I created an email template in Eloqua, which is a two-column layout. The text box on the left has links that work very well. The text box on the right has links that do not work. This only occurs in Outlook. If I find the email in an another e-mail client, all right. What could be wrong causing the links is not working?

  If another person has ever run into this and found a solution, please let me know. I'm pulling my hair out!

  I called support this morning and all I had to do was move the text box on the right side to the top of a few pixels and now everything works fine. I guess when the two tables are the same height, Outlook rides them and cannot process the links properly. I like it when it's an easy solution!

  I have an InDesign Document with a handful of images and text on the top or near the images. This should be so simple, but for some reason, I keep having this problem. There is no build-up on the given word and I can't place any text on one of the images. All the settings for all of the images in this scenario are the same. I'm fine with everything else but this one...

  I don't see any boxes hidden or anything else for that matter. I've recreated text boxes and still have the same problem it appears then disappears or I can get only part of the Word visible on the image, then a + sign comes... It should work please help. I tried to recrete this particular image and word a handful of times its just not the text box woking sometimes added a sign which does no sense, I tried a different text alignment so +...   Have you tried select the text block, and then go to object > text frame Options and checking the checkbox ignore text dressed ?

  The problem is in a js.scripts, was a syntax error, and I stop the script of twitter to watch.

• Please help with text boxes

  Can someone help me wit hmy problem. I have a Fisher with plenty of tables in it, some cells of the table are text boxes, or at least they were when I developed it. Now I need to modify some cells and for some reason I can't do because the cell is not a text box, but became (untitled < draw >) I can't change its return type to the text. Can someone advise what to do whitouh retype the text again in the new cell.

  Hello

  Looks like the cell has lost its identity. I'd be inclined to objects in the name that you develop the form because it makes the script easier and less likely for LC/Acrobat to become confused.

  All I can suggest is that you select a good cell and then click the XML Source tab select the 'good' XML from ... to... . Then paste this in the XML for the damaged cell.

  

  Word of warning, tinkering in the XML Source tab can severely hurt your form - work on a preliminary version!

  If it works, rename each object (certainly within lines) to unique names.

  I have a rectangle of text dyamic onstage and am manually enter the text inside. Reason being, I try to embed the fonts in the Flash file, and this is the only way I know how
  
  Here's what I would do:
  
  -Create a scrolling text box
  -Embed specific fonts
  -Be able to underline/bold/hyperlink certain keywords in the text box
  -Be able to integrate an image in the paragraph so that it can as well
  -Justify text on both sides
  -Do NOT import HTML text from an external file, or encode an HTML string into a TextArea block
  
  Any help or links to tutorials/posts would be greatly appreciated!

  You can use a scrollpane component. Simply create a movieclip with some content you want scrolling, set the ID of this movieclip binding and set the contentPath of the scollpane to this connection ID.
