Help! Saved a Document (form to fill out) but opened later and all the information has disappeared

Hello

I was working on a very important document for the work last night (early this morning!) and I recorded it (I could close it and reopen it, no problem) but when I went to email to my colleague, he said all the information has disappeared. I am then went to attend the return, but all the information in my copy had also disappeared. Is anyway to fix this or recover my lost data? I use Adobe Reader XI on a PC.

Thanks for any help.

Hi alisonl68687551,

Please see the video at this link https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-to-save-form-data-in-adobe-reader to understand exactly what is happening.

PDF forms must be Reader extended to enable the option Save PDF Forms data. This must be done by the creator of PDF form in Acrobat.

Even you can do if you installed Acrobat applications.

Kind regards
Nicos

  • Is it possible to lock a form to fill out, once it is filled in by the user?

    I created a form to fill out for my client. When the customer completes the form and saves it, I want the shape editable or locked. Is it possible to do it without a digital signature?

    I use Adobe Acrobat DC and have read most of the information on safety, but it seems that the only way to do this is to apply a digital signature.

    You can embed a code in the file that flattens until the file is saved and under certain conditions will also apply a security policy, but the latter is more complex.

    Just to flatten the file is easy, however. Enter the following under Tools - code JavaScripts - Document Actions - Document will save:

    if (app.viewerType!="Reader") this.flattenPages();

    Note that this is not reversible. So use it with caution, especially when used as will win command, because you will not be able to revert to the version of the file with the fields, unless you have a backup of it. If you want that it is possible to inform the user about this step and ask their approval before running it.

  • How can I make changes to the fields in my form to fill out?

    What I need to recreate my forms to fill out, or if I can change the fields?

    It seems that the right answer is right click on the file and select "Edit with Adobe Acrobat" rather than open the file and attempt to modify it since breast.

  • When I fill out a form to fill out online I can't print or save it

    I am able to fill out a form to fill out, but it prints white and save empty. What could be the problem?

    I downloaded the form on this site and also the site of the Government. Security in the Properties section, explains the form should be the screen-fillable and printable. I use windows 7 and try to fill it in adobe reader. I normally don't need to have an expensive program just fill out a form and do not make changes. I know that the form is locked for editing.

    When I print after filling it out, or save it after filling, the form I get empty.

  • Create a form to fill out that can be saved by others

    Hi, I work in Adobe Acrobat X Pro, I'm on a PC

    I know you go to file > save as... > reader extended pdf >

    After that, I get "allow adding text in the Documents (which are not fillable)...".

    I then get a form that uses a 'typewriter' tool. "This isn't what I want.  I want a form to fill out that can be saved by the person filling out the form and not necessary to use the typewriter tool.  I don't like the way looks or works.  I hope that there is someone who can help.  I used to be able to do this and do not understand what has changed.

    Thank you!

    You must select activate additional features, so what you try to do

    is to allow users of Reader (before XI), fill in the fields on the form and then save

    file.

  • How to create a form to fill out that can be saved in Acrobat Reader

    I'm new with the forms to fill out.  I watched several months ago, and I was sure I saw something to make recordable forms in Reader, but now I can't find it.  Does anyone know?

    You must "Extend rights form Reader" using Acrobat 8 Professional, Acrobat 9 Standard or professional or LiveCycle ES.

  • Can I set the tab order in a form to fill out to ignore certain fields?

    I have a simple form to fill out and presentation purposes, I need duplicate some obscure fields a background when certain conditions are met. I don't want these fields in duplicate to present as a location on the tab. Any help will be appreciated.

    OK, what you can do is to rename all the copies (for example, Text1 to Text1a), unchangeable value of the copies and use the custom script next to validate the main field (Text1):

    Copy the value of this field in double fields

    getField("Text1a").value = event.value;

  • Why information from individual PDF files that were created by using the form to fill out is changing when I try to combine the files?

    I have several pdf documents created using a form to fill out.  When I try to create a combined PDF information either is removed from all pages after the first page or all the pages after the fact look page 1 as duplicate page 1.  what I am doing wrong?

    The problem is that these files have fields with the same name in them, thus

    When you merge them they become copies of each other and of all their

    the values are the same.

    To avoid it you must either rename the fields before you merge the files

    or flatten, converting them to static content.

  • Of the reasons why the contents of a form to fill out on-line can be displayed or printed?

    I created a form of 2 pages on Adobe Acrobat XPro. I sent it to specific people, and they filled, saved and sent it back. I am able to view what they typed in my monitor only, when I click on the field, but it will not print the content. Of the reasons why the contents of a form to fill out on-line can be displayed or printed?

    What you describe is typical of a PDF form that has been used and corrupted by the application on a Mac. An outdated version of Acrobat or Reader will not cause this. A less likely possibility is also corrupt forms PDF, Microsoft Reader, but in different ways than the preview.

  • Error when you try to save a form to fill out?

    Hello

    My staff is an error trying to save information that has been entered in a form to fill out. They are able to print but could not be saved. They receive the error message is: "cannot save the form information please note: you cannot save a completed copy of the form on your computer." If you want a copy for your records, please fill out and print. "They also got the message: 'save a copy of this form for data typed into this form is not saved. Adobe Reader can only save a copy of this form. Please print your form if you would like a copy for your records. »

    This form was created in LiveCycle ES4. I have Adobe XI on my computer and I am able to save the form correctly. My staff have Adobe 9 on their computer. Is there something I can do so that they will be able to save the form on their computer, once they've finished will fill?

    If you have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro then you could save it as a PDF Reader extended file that would allow saving form data in Adobe Reader 9.

  • Sending data to a form to fill out to another?

    Tonight...

    I was canvassing all the recesses of the internet for the last few days in search of ways to do this...

    I just want to create a simple form to fill out my clients to my catering company can fill about the specific needs for their events. You will find information General, I need, like name, address, size, location, special requests, etc...

    I would like to create a form that they can fill in the necessary information and then submit my receptionist. I would like the information in this form automatically migrate to a form to fill my receptionist add internal information to fill out, and send it to me. It sounds quite complicated, but if you can see the form of a sequence, it would look like this:

    1.

    {To form initially filled by potential Client, then submitted to my Secretary Lynne}

    2.

    {Information in data fields are then automatically filled in his corresponding field on the form to fill with Lynne. Then she fills and submits the form, which will more details, because it contains information about the places, internal actions/process etc..}

    3.

    {I get form of Lynne, containing both the first customer information + its information in a fillable format on the screen just in case I need to modify anything.}

    If anyone can understand it, then you have him alone has changed my life! Help, please

    If your receptionist has Acrobat (Standard is enough), it can export the data from the form that the customer submits and import it in the second form. As long as the similar fields share the same name, they will be filled when the data is imported into the form. She can then fill in all the fields and submit. If she will not have access to Acrobat and comes in place of drive (11), there are other options, but they are a little more complicated to implement.
