Help to install OEM Windows 8 at mSata

I just bought a HP Envy 15. It came with 8 Windows pre-installed on a 1 TB hard drive.

I also bought a card 256Go mSata and installed. It works, WIndows sees it and I was able to create a partition.

I want to do is move Windows from the hard drive to the mSata. I tried to create a recovery CD, I tried to create a recovery on a 32 GB CF card drive. When I boot from one or the other, it is not possible to install the disk mSata. If I try to pull the hard drive, the recovery disc gives way entirely.

Next step would seem to be wanting to install Windows 8 from an installation instead of a recovery disk DVD. Except that when I tried to download an appropriate ISO using the upgrade wizard, it refuses to accept my key because it is not a retail key, it's an OEM key.

There must be _some_ medium to do that, because there are a lot of people do. There are dealers on Amazon sells this laptop with the operating system installed on an mSata map.

Your best option would be to contact HP, ask USB recovery media and use it to reinstall Windows 8 on the new disk:

I just want to know after the formatting and the license of windows 7 OEM loading if my system will work and also if the windows are enabled.

Please, your urgent response is needed here.

    Hello

You don't say where you got the OEM Windows 7 license of.

If you got it from another computer, the answer is no.

If you bought from Microsoft, you can.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

  • help clean install of Windows 7 for my laptop...

Hey, I'm on Toshiba Satellite C655-S5312 which was pre installed with Windows 7 home premium ... now it becomes slow... I did a System Recovary... .but yet its slow start... .some time now, I think for a dry-cleaning facility and I have my Installed windows 7 activation key... so do a clean install with a original iso file of windows 7 Home premium 64 bit... which i torrent download using this activation key? Please do emotional assistance... I thank you for reading this ...

    It should work.

I used a purchased copy of Windows 7 to do a fresh install of Windows 7 installed OEM by using the same key as the OEM.  During the installation it ask for the product key and I had to skip that part until the new facility is completed. The reason to skip the product key during the installation is because it looks like "Invalid product key" or something along that line. Then I right click My Computer\Properties and at the bottom of the page click on change the product key and seized the key for the OEM. He was then accepted and activated Windows. Good luck with it.

  • I need to remove installed OEM Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and install XP. Help please!

It is a new work computer, not my personal machine.  Our main piece of software, ACT! 2000, will not work on W7.  We bought the new law! 2010, but he does not play well with the rest of the desktop computers, server included.  I know that the best thing to do would be to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro, and then load Windows Virtual PC to run XP.  But because of $$$ and $$$ already spent on this new computer, upgrade to W7 Pro is not on the table right now.

And am not extremely computer, but I get.  :)  I did a lot of reading on the erasure of Windows 7 & install XP, and I've seen a lot read on hardware/driver problems: ATA, AHCI and SATA configurations... now I'm just lost.

Is there someone who can tell me, in terms of Joe 6-pack , how to proceed?

Once, my new Dell Inspiron 560 came loaded with Windows 7 Home Edition, and I need to remove it completely and install Windows XP, I have the disc.

    Thanks a bunch!

Unfortunately, Dell provides Windows XP drivers for this system, so any installation of Windows XP is not supprted by Dell andcan not work and even install

To install winxp you need a retail version of Windows XP, you must then boot from winxp cd and perform a clean installation

How to recover my product key of windows 8, I installed the windows 10 techniques view without taking backup I need to go back to my windows 8 pls someone help

    Hi Carmen,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

I understand that you had not taken any prior backup upgrade to Windows 10 Technical Preview and need product key to retrieve Windows 8.

So, first of all, I suggest you to check the product key in email messages when you purchased the license to the product for Windows 8. Once you get the product key, you can create a Windows 8 ISO and reinstall using this product key. See the following article:

To create installation media Windows 8.1

However, if you had bought the system pre-installed with Windows 8. Then, you may need to contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) system for Windows 8 discs to restore the older operating system.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know the results for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • 1 TB hard to go OEM Windows 8 msata SSD 64 GB

I bought a computer preloaded with OEM Windows 8 installed on the hard disk of 1 TB of spinning.

Then I bought a 64 GB of msata SSD drive to put the windows partition on (given that Lenovo has no drivers for the quick drive it is to windows 8 again).

Then, I bought the pro upgrade windows (more for the .iso image file and then nothing).

Problem is that windows restore/update does not give you an option to move the windows partition and when I try to reinstall windows from the .iso upgrade trying to read the product key off the coast of the bios (which isn't good for lenovo recovery) and fails.

I even entered the product key in the installation prompt in windows before restarting Setup but always comes back with something to the effect of "product key entered does not match any image on disk", which is correct if reading from the bios, but it will not give me an option to a different key.

Is there a more advanced option of reinstalling windows 8 on another drive?

I tried to use the option of control panel disk management to shrink the C: partition, it does so had to use Easeus.

I then tried using the Windows 8.1 image upwards. He would backup but not restore to the new disk, even if the new drive is larger. Used the Win8.1 CD and went into recovery mode / advanced.

    Easeus to clone again SSD.

If Easeus (the free version release for consumption) has worked well, used to reduce the original score (up to 110 G with 80 GB of data), and then used Easeus to clone for the new (240 GB) SSD.

My system is UEFI and GPT. It starts without the need to reinstall anything.

At the start, I hit F12 and selected the new UEFI SSD as a boot device, so I didn't need to unplug the old disk

    SUMMARIZE:

1: install Windows own 8 UEFI

    2: SECURE BOOT: WE

3: THE LEGACY SUPPORTED STARTING: OFF

    Dear KNRK!

I'm so happy. Everything seems to be in trouble, so I have to use the legacy on support. I installed the windows 8 install any update, and then upgrade to windows 8.1. The first initialization of the windows 8.1 installation, I go into the BIOS, then choose restore default.

Like a charm, everything's fine. Now he worked on Legacy support OFF and Secure Boot on.

BTW, I'm sharing my EXPERIENCE on installing windows 8 with UEFI.

    1. create UEFI USB BOOTABLE WITH RUFUS

    2. IF can detect the drive HARD or SSD IN WINDOWS SETUP is FINE

    If 2 is not available

    Go to 3

    3. TURN ON LEGACY SUPPORT

3A - CREATE UEFI-BOOTABLE USB WITH RUFUS USNG MBR SYSTEM FOR BIOS

    4-USE TROUBLESHOOT - COMMAND PROMT

    5. CLEAN THE OS INSTALLED HDD

    6 - CONVERT TO GPT

    7-ACTIVE

    8 - RESTART

    9-HDD DETECTED

    10 INSTALL

    IF ENCOUNTER 03200024 ERROR 0 x

SOLUTION - REMOVE ALL HARD DRIVE - JUST LEAVE THE OS INSTALLED HARD DRIVE

AFTER FINISH INSTALLATION - REINSERT THE OTHER HARD DRIVE.

    TO OBTAIN AGAIN A MISTAKE.

SOLUTION - CLEAN HDD VIA USB BOTABLE WITH MBR SCHEME FOR UEFI

CONVERT HDD OS INSTALLED TPG, ACTIVE

THEN AGAIN CREATE USB BOOTABLE WITH TPG TO UEFI SYSTEM

EVERYTHING'S OK. BUT LEGACY SUPPORT MUST BE ON.

INSTALL ALL OF THE UPDATE, INSTEAD OF UPGRADING TO WINDOWS 8.1

IN THE FIRST REBOOT, GO TO BIOS THEN RESTORE THE DEFAULT SETTINGS.

    EVERYTHING'S FINE.

    GOOD LUCK, EVERYBODY

Thank you very much for your help.
