Help Web site navigation bar

Hi all

I'm Manager of my own Web site and there is one last thing I wanted to do, but do not for the life of me find.

I use an inline block to create a navigation bar, and I have a float for all "items in the list. What I'm trying to understand, that's how I have list items are in line with the page/window as well as the block size. I feel like I've tried everything, so I'd like someone to prove me wrong!

Thank you!

Rethink the concept.  Menu can be used as it is not current state unless people are on a large screen.  My advice is to find a system of sensitive menu which starts horizontally on the great features & collapses and stacks vertically on the smaller.

Bootstrap default navigation bar does all this without too much difficulty.

    It does not work because the jquery and JavaScript of Bootstrap files are not on the server, or if they are, they are in the wrong place.

  • Additional "greeked" added to my site navigation bar

    I just tried to make a few updates on my site, and when I published in Business Catalyst special edition, generics, navigation bar has been added to the top of my site with links that go to the placeholder greeked text! And the site itself appears as an area within this site. Help! How can I remove this additional navigation bar and have just my site appear as the only content?

    I took a quick look, and I can see it is actually an Adobe partner in importance! This generic navigation bar is a remnant of a model. There is a "header" in the HTML tag, showing a comment from 'BC_OBNW', which is generally a signature Business Catalyst . And should simply not be able to creep into your web page to download or use. Don't worry, it's not bad, at least not that I can see. It's just a strange glitch.

    In all cases, you write the code in Dreamweaver (or another creation tool or a text editor). It is not done in Fireworks. Fireworks is not a HTML authoring environment element.

  • Help Web site

    My client wants to its front page to look like the site below where you choose what part of the Web site to enter. However, how the black and white to lock it on the sides and the width of my browser filling shows or my black is short and white gets bigger that I can't grasp this concept for some reason any! Help!

    Here is the link to the http://adigillespie.com/ site, I want my first page to look exactly like except horizontally. How can I do this?

    Hi Rosa,.

    You can create a similar structure to the Muse.

    Create a blank page in Muse (lets say 1000 px of width), now add a rectangle in Muse design area.

    Make sure that the foot of page, bottom of the page and the bottom of the browser sovereigns will be on the same line

    Now increase the rectangle of width 500 px as the page width is 1000 px (50% of the page), draw the rectangle width "sensitive."

    Fill the rectangle with the color black and the most important unlock the width of the page

    You are now ready to add your clickable images on the section (black and white).

    Hope it will be useful.

    Thank you

    So im trying to make this web page (see link below) to evolve and adapt to fit different devices using queries of media in the style sheet, but I'm having some trouble trying to find the best way to display the navigation bar. Ideally, I would like the bar to run horizontally at the top of the page, but I don't know how to make the transition to happen from vertical to horizontal.

  • Element positioning Please Help Web site

    I am redesigning a web site I did for my small business to parents and I don't know how to do this thing properly.

    I'll include the website, so if someone is willing they have access to the source code viewing.

    www.actheatingandcooling.com

    The problem I have is I am just placing the text on top of an image, but at the same time, I want the page stay Center in the window of the web browser then expanded or compressed. The page currently operates to how I want it, but it requires a lot of work further and all the apdiv should be included after the elements on the page. Which translates to the need for a negative number in the style apdiv for example.

    {#temp}

    position: relative;

    Left: 30px;

    top:-300px;

    Width: 840px;

    height: 226px;

    z-index: 2;

    text-align: center;

    }

    I know that apdiv is for absolute positioning, but it is the only way I could find a way to get the page to look at how it works. I'm sure it's a mistake, how can I do this correctly? A book that I read mentioned something similar to this and said to wrap a an absolute position with a relative label is that the answer? If so how do you do that because the authors just mentions in passing and does not explain everything yet.

    It works on most of the browsers I checked but in safari adds 300 pixels down the page too, which does not look great and is worse than the div elements add up and the pages go on way longer than necessary. If someone is willing to look and the code source and tell me how it correctly I would appreciate greatly help.

    Novice in over his head,

    Joe

    There are several ways to place text on an image.

    1. in your image editing program, add the text you want to the image itself.  OR

    2. in DW, place your image as a background for any container it's in, then enter your text on the image.

  • help pass the navigation bar?

    My top navigation bar which must be centered, travel depending on which page you are on. I seem to have this problem quite often and it me stem. The navigation bar is in a table and the code on all pages is the same:
    < table width = "968" border = "0" align = "center" cellpadding = "0" cellspacing = "0" >
    If you go to the site, and you'll "galleries" or the page after that, 'about' they remain in the same place, but this shift to the right on the 2 pages, 'buy' and 'contact '. I can't find where the code is different.
    Usually, that doesn't bother my clients who don't know any better, but it really bothers me and I would so appreciate it if someone has the time to take a look.
    The URL within the site, as I speak to you is:
    http://www.janosklanyi.com/galleriesindex.html
    Thank you.

    Add this to your CSS, below a rule defining the margins for the body
    tag...

    HTML, body {min-height: 100%; margin-bottom: 1px ;}}

    The problem is that you have short and long pages (which poses a scroll bar)
    pages (which are not). In all browsers except IE, when the scroll bar
    appears, the page moves to the left. The CSS will force all pages to have
    a scroll bar, whether it needs it or not.

  • Fuctional (Newbie Web Designer) Navigation bar

    I bought a bar of navigation which is all an image.  Does anyone know how I would be able to make it work?  I've seen videos of youtube on seizes a navigation bar but it s seem to be into pieces instead of an image.

    I know I have to use a bulleted list, but after that, I'm lost. It is easier to get a bar of navigation in dreamweaver, but I liked this one, so I bought it. The file is DSP but I need to convert this html and css in dreamweaver navigation bar, so it is functional and you can click on each menu takes you to another page. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to do it? This image should be decided and if so does anyone know how I would go all this. Is it possible to cut a large image to pieces.

    The navigation bar includes a section for logo, text, bands, menu. In my view, it is laid. Under each article, he has the attributes of it. The section of the menu has produced about and ect.

  • Need help with a navigation bar

    I am new to Dreamweaver, working on my first page. This is my first post also, so I hope I am doing this correctly.  I created a set of night navigation bars. It's a vertical bar with 9 points.  It was beautiful, except the elements were not centered in the sidebar.  I was experimenting tonight and now the 'elements' 8 / securities disappeared.  The list is essentially disappeared with the exception of a title.  When I look in the code view, all elements are listed. I hate to delete the page and start over.  Someone at - it ideas?

    Just reply to this and attach files.

  • Help Web site is not displayed right on the server, but seems very well on my files the.

    After that I downloaded my site on my server pages lost their format, the only page that seems correct is my index page.

    That's how it should look like.  (local file)Right.PNG

    This is what it looks like on the (server)Wrong.PNG

    Help, please

    The point of Nancy does very well, is that from the server, the web page cannot find a file whose path begins by file:///C|/Users/tdavis/Documents/... because your C drive do not EXIST on THE SERVER.

    You MUST correct these references in your code so that they actually point to the file in a relevant folder root path.

    When you have not defined a site again, (as requested) DW will use an 'absolute' path to the file that includes the drive and the folder names in the path. Once the site is defined these must change to show only the location of the root folder, but this does not always happen. If you don't check and change these stray file path references before you put the files on the server, the Web page will not be able to reference what he should look and work properly.

  • Help Web site content

    I'm having a hard time, editing Fw in Dw .html pages.  If I had just text and images on my site it would be easier but I have several pages requiring forms.  What I've read, this is not an easy task in FW, but what I'm confused about is when I load my layout FW into DW and try to add text (content), it seems to blow in DW.  I think that my Fw page layout is an array in Dw and I'd love help, someone at - it answers?  Basically edit a tabular presentation FW into DW?

    Short answer is no not to use Fireworks to generate your html code. Use it to

    your images. The HTML and CSS code work in a web publisher as appropriate

    Dreamweaver. FW generated HTML is very rigid and only really useful

    to create a prototype of a click. He is not ready to use

    code for a few reasons that you are the list. Adding text,

    modification of the layout in DW will usually break all of creation.

  • Help Web site URL?

    First of all, my apologies if this question is as lame as it seems!

    When my project is published and accessible via the web, the URL displayed in the address bar is still the start page any page, I sailed on the project. It is therefore difficult to send a URL specific to a user in the form of: "Please see http://Product1 \SecondChapter\ThirdTopic.

    For now, I need to get to the page, go to the directory of the project and find where the file is physically located, and then use this physical directory to build a URL for the user.

    I tried to use different (DHTML, JAVA, pure HTML) table of contents options and they all have the same behavior. Is there an easier way to point to specific topics within a project to help on the Web? I must be missing something obvious!

    Thank you!
    Keith

    My apologies if I misread your post - I was rushing.

    Right-click in the frame that displays the topic (not the table of contents), then click 'properties '. The URL must be in the Properties dialog box that appears.

  • Why Web site navigation words appear as small rectangles, wavy lines / w when on Explorer, they show that the words?

    When I use Mozilla browsing different sites passwords don't show - on the contrary, there is a small rectangle with wavy instead of their lines. I tried Internet Explorer on the same sites, and the words appear. I prefer Mozilla and don't want to have to rely on the MSN browser. Can you tell me how I can get the same results with your browser I get with them?

    Thank you everyone - it worked. Never would have guessed. Appreciate the help!
