Help with the TEXT TOOL, illustrator text is buggy

OK so when I use the text tool in illustrator I'm weird kind of thing, icant understand wheather it is text characters mixed up or something else, however when I use 0.25pt race I can see the characters as you can see in the screenshot.Capture.PNG

you have a point 60 applied to your text - select the type and then go to your contour palette and select a 0 (zero pt) race

No, he just put in place and make sure that test the various movements of the arm before you start to create poses for the frame. If you take a look at the example file (using clips), you will see that the symbol is slightly overlap at the level of the joint and the transformation point is also at the level of the joint. If you want your figure to change when you move it then your image must not be bitmap and vector.

  • Need help with the text in a presentation liquid

    Hello Adobe Forum,

I want my #wrapper to always be flexible, as if it were present, as well as the text of p #content to have a width 'fixed' to say 500px, but also flexible, but only if the screen is smaller than the 500px.

    Hello

You can apply one - max-width: 500px; -, in this way it will not go above this when seen on the larger screens (remember to remove the rule of "fixed" width).

  • Need help with the text variables

I have a directory to which is more than 300 pages long.

Each entry begins with a photo in a built-in framework shaped like a cat fall, followed by a space en dash and then the name, company, address, e-mail, etc.. Essentially, we have a photo hanging to the left and on the right information.

The name is the last name in capital letters, first name and middle name propercase. I've defined a character style "Dict Head" and used in a paragraph style as style nested through 3 characters.

Then, I defined a two text for the instance variable first and last instance on the page of the character style "Dict Head". I have a hyphen between the two variables (the goal is at the head of the race be "AAR - ABE," for example). The application, however, includes space en with three letters.

I did a GREP search for space en with the applied character style and replaced it with himself, and < None > character style applied and which does not seem to get rid of. My current title looks like this " AAR - ABE." With invisible on I see the en space is still there.

I deleted the text variables, exported a. File INX, opened soft and recreated the text variables and the spaces are still there.

    I'm open to suggestion.

    Ken

It seems ID brings together up to three regular characters with which nesting style... (Okay - just tried and the original en-space is also considered to be a 'character' for this number of three.) No matter what... read more, please)

You can not delete a character with your search and replace nested style. Try it - ID can be found but not change it to [anything].

Possible workaround would be to not use the style nested to mark the names and put the character marker using a GREP search and replacement style.

  • Help with the Brush tool!

    Hi all

I am very new to Illustrator.  I followed this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGOeuEsgDrI.  I managed to make the wreath a style brush but when I create an ellipse with no filling/brush stroke and hit my created Crown brush, leaves extends around the border, but the circle is blackened (filled).  It is a different result that the tutorial where the leaves are the border and there is no fill.  When I choose other paint tools, such as the banner (it looks like a Ribbon), it behaves as the tutorial shows and the Center is not filled (as does the Crown Brush tool.  Please refer to the following screen shot, in comparing the two.

    Screen Shot 2014-01-09 at 1.28.27 PM.png

Thanks for any help that you could provide!

When you created the stem you probably had a fill that are associated with him. This caused it to fill with black when you assigned him to a circle.

If you still have the original work used to create the branch, select only the stem and make sure that it is set to "no fill". Then option-do the work dragging the brush in the Panel icon shapes. This will update the work with the new art. Simply register and select "update to work. Your circle will now be hallow.

If you do not have the original work, drag the icon of the brush on the artboard, remove center line filling and updating the art of the brush.

  • Need help with the Selection tool

    Hi all

I have a few strange occurrences (for me) while using the 'quick selection'...

    Explanation

    I'm using PS 11 items on a PC Win 7 (64).

What I want to do is to create a new pic from an existing photo.  Background of the existing of the captain not suitable for what I want.  But the FG is what I need.  I thought that by selecting the FG object and to be placed in a new pic would be what I need using the <Quick Selection tool>.

To do this, I try to use the <Quick Selection tool>.  I had degrees of success using it.  I do not understand one main thing & pretty much makes my useless project & voidable, is the fact that when I use <Refine Edge> so that I can refine my selection of edge, my pic is lost immediately or removed.  Since I have no idea what is going on, I am obliged to close the peak (without saving the changes, of course) and then re-opening the pic.  All is well until I click the button <Refine Edge> once again, then, my pic disappears AGAIN!

My guess is that maybe the captain doesn't turn somehow a layer or something.  But, how can I disable this behavior and make not my pic disappear?

There are a few more details on this selection tool <>I'm muddy on.  Is there something where I can read more on its use?  I would like to learn more, but how?  Where?

I now read the manual part online on the selection tools.  Although he enlighten us, I need more.

I'm not a constant user of the PSE, instead, I use it only on occasions.  Normally, I use its scanning functions.  I can play with some other features, but I also know that the PSE offers many other powerful features, I use rarely, if ever.

To do this, I am using the Quick Selection tool>.  I had degrees of success using it.  A main thing, I understand & pretty much makes my project useless & voidable, lies in the fact that whenever I use Refine Edge> so that I can refine my selection of edge, my pic is immediately lost or kidnapped.  Since I have no idea what is going on, I am obliged to close the picture (without saving the changes, of course) & then reopening the pic.  Everything is fine until I click on Refine Edge> new button, then, my pic disappears AGAIN!

Try to reset the tool. To do this, look for a box with lines inside on the tool, and then reset options bar.

If that fixed it, reset the preferences. To do this, go in Edition > Preferences > General, click Reset preferences on the next launch.

  • Help with the text create a banner 96 dpi x 24 300

I went through a few forum but still need help. IM creating a banner 96 dpi x 24 300. Its a simple text. I have 4 layers of different text, when I increase the size it changes, but once that I accept it (by selecting the checkbox) it disappear. I have enough space on my canvas for the size of the image of my choice but PS want to allow it. He even appear when I click on the place of the canvas, where he was

Do not do text in Photoshop. Make the background image, save as PSD, go to InDesign, create a new document, place the PSD and make text ther. It causes the best quality with file size reduced.

Resolution of the images is not DPI, it's the PPI.

  • Help with the text entry box?

I recorded a presentation in practice mode, and a guest that I recorded for the learner "Please enter the number 20 domain xxx.  When I publish, the learner must enter 20, BUT the 20 that I typed in the field to capture the action required is visible, as well - the learner is required to type on the 20 who appears in the background.  Is it possible to have the 20 I typed in response to not appear?

    Thank you!

No, it's a straight entry text box. Check the properties panel, accordion of Transition: set this no. transition, perhaps it fades.

  • help with the text field read-only

try to refine a shape KW

    I don't want the user to enter a value in a box, so I did it read-only.  $< input name = "proptax" type = "text" size = "10" readonly = "true" >

    Validation says:

'true' is not a valid value for the 'readonly' attribute in any of the currently active versions. See warnings above for more details. [HTML 4.0]

    So now what?

    Try readonly = "readonly".

    It does not validate.

  • Help with the scissors tool

    Hello

I currently have problems cutting plotted to achieve what I want. I want to create a form of circle by cutting paths to the corresponding location. Like this:

    Screen Shot 2011-08-06 at 17.20.00.png

I realized this by drawing a circle, which actually in a guide, then individually using the scissors to cut each path which intersect the guide and the path. It took bloody forever!

There must be a quicker way to do it?

Note: I don't want to use clipping masks, because he won't get the effect I'm after. I want that the paths are like this:

    Screen Shot 2011-08-06 at 17.14.07.png

    Screen Shot 2011-08-06 at 17.20.07.png

In this way, you can see the rounded ends of the strokes.

I hope that makes sense! Any help is appreciated!

Draw a circle above the lines, select all, take the tool Shapebuilder and Alt or Alt + Shift + drag around the parts you want to delete.

  • type of CS5.5 Illustrator editable, no selectable with the text tool

Hi people, working on a poster in Illustrator. Added the type of area, using the text tool. Now I would like to increase the size of a single line. I can't select or change any type with the text tool. I have moved into a new layer, registered, closed type Illustrator, restarted my Mac (OS X 10.7.4).) Looked in preferences, in which case there is a problem. No luck.

Furthermore, I don't see two handles when selecting the tool more. Don't know if that is related.

  • Adding text with the text tool corresponds to the resolution of photo

I discovered that, although the resolution of the image is of no consequence when the sizing of the images in pixel dimensions, it is always important if you decide to add information of copyright with the text tool.

for example, I received pictures of several people, all sizes of 1024 pixels in width, but I wanted to add their names to the front of the images before putting the images in a slideshow.  I quickly discovered that, even if the images are identical pixel seen, applied names vary in size according to the resolution of the image.

Because different brands of cameras assign a different resolution to the images taken with this camera, I needed to change the resolution of images to be all the same before I could add the names appearing in the same size.

It was a surprise for me.

    Mary Lou

I think we are saying the same thing.

"Now, Type is expressed in points and points are defined as 72 points per inch for output format."

This is the information that I needed.

When people send me images that are all in 1024 x 768 in size in pixels (I'll stop using the word 'size') the size of the font that I choose to use appears differently on these images, depending on their output resolution.

There is no way to avoid having to adjust the resolution of output of these images, if I want to have text added (via the text tool) that appears the same size on all images.

Now, I can explain why this is happening.  I hope this is helpful to others reading this.

    Thank you.

  • Text changes when you click with the text tool before editing

I have a big file and think that there not saved properly or something. I tried quiting and relaunch Photoshop, but this does not help. Editing the text of other Photoshop files normally works.

As soon as I click on any text with the text tool, as if I'm going to change or style of the text, the text changes instantly. The content and style of the text shall be replaced as soon as the cursor is placed anywhere in the string.

The really weird thing is the updated text is text that appears elsewhere on the page. If I click on another text that she is now to who will also get automatically replaced by another text on the page. And it goes on and on. It is impossible to edit or any text style unless I have create a new text.

I think that the file has arranged miss references to items that becomes apparent that I am editing.

    A way to fix this?

Out of curiosity, do you have a Mac or a PC, Dan?

And no, there is no known solution for the corruption in the PSD.

How do I reselect the type to change.  I have a text template that I want to, but when I try to select it with the text tool always creates a new text layer.  How to change the type of the layer in my registered design?

OK, Bob. This give a try.

First, open a new file and make sure the background is white, not on Transparent that I suspect you have currently defined.

Then, type your copy. Your layers panel will then look like the top of this picture...:

and when you drag the text on the image layer, it will look like the lower part of the sample above.

You can then position the text layer with the tool move
