Heterogeneous Connectivity to Mysql

Hi comrades.

I need to connect to a Mysql database in Oracle 10 G line (link), I read an article about the heterogeneous connectivity to other Oracle with ODBC or DNS databases. Someone is making this functionality in Oracle? Is another choice to connect to any other relational databases Oracle 10 G - has... If someone has information to connect to the database Mysql wil be great!

Thank you very much.!!!

Emmanuel.

If you want to use heterogeneous Services, you will need to either buy a transparent bridge or use the generic connectivity, which is part of the database. Generic connectivity using ODBC or OLE DB to connect to the remote database. What approach you try to implement?

It is not obvious to me that your comment about the DNS service is referring. You can obviously use a different mechanism to translate host for IP addresses or IP addresses of just hardcode names although it is usually not the desired architecture.

    Hello

You get the error because the MySQL database does not allow connections from remote computers.
You must grant privileges on MySQL for the user attempting the connection on the computer where SQL * Developer is running. There are various instructions on how to do this if you try a search on the web, but the following should work.

    -connect to mysql

    -question-

    GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *. * to "username'@'remote_IP'IDENTIFIED BY'password';

When the "username" is the user trying to connect from SQL * Developer and the address of "remote_IP" is SQL * address developer machine.

  • How can I fix an 'Access denied' error when connecting to mySQL database to a site (I'm sure I can get...)

    Hello

I had a search on the forums and I don't see anyone with the same problem so I apologize if this has been asked before.

I need to connect a database to a Web site so that members can register and save it to some pages (not all pages - only a 'members only' section).

I created the database, tested and it works very well (I used XAMMP/PHPmyAdmin).

In DreamWeaver CS6, I chose the type of document from the page (PHP) and set up the testing server. If I go to site Configuration > server for the site and click on test, it connects successfully. Note that the test server is hosted at the University, that I work - there is a password required, but I entered it on the test set up server and it seems connects very well, as I get the message successfully at this stage.

When I go to connect the mySQL connection and select the database I get the error "access is denied. The file exists may not, or there could be a permission problem. Make sure you have permission on the server and the server is properly configured. »

Any ideas? It's driving me crazy!

I understand that after several unsuccessful searches on Google, so I post the solution here for someone else with the same question that could end up here.

If you configure your test server in the inetpub/wwwroot/folder then Dreamweaver cannot make changes (such as adding files) unless you are running as an administrator, so it occurred to me that maybe the database connections are also affected.  Of course, as soon as I leave Dreamweaver and restarted as an administrator, I was able to connect to the MySQL database using the databases Panel.  If you don't know how to run a program as an administrator, it is pretty easy: just right click on Dreamweaver icon and select "Run As Administrator" when you start the program.  There are a lot of tutorials out there that can give you the necessary steps for always loads a program as an administrator if you don't do right click every time.

    Version: Dreamweaver CC 2015.

First of all, I am a rookie at this, so please excuse me for leaving out some details.  In any case, I followed David Powers "establishing an environment of PHP for Dreamweaver development" set up my test server.  I tested the timetest.php file and everything works great.  I saved my website in its entirety and extracted its contents in my folder xampp/htdocs/php_test/CIM.  'CIM' is a file that I created to hold the content of my entire site.  I get an error message when I try to access my index.php file.  When I click on 'Live View', I get 'database error: unable to connect to the database: could not connect to MySQL'.»»  My index., is a php file in xampp/htdocs/php_test/CIM/public_html/store.  I too, started with Apache and MySql running XAMPP.  What I am doing wrong?

  • Heterogeneous Connectivity environment layout

I am very new to "ORACLE heterogeneous connectivity"...
and this is my senario... I need to connect to oracle with microsoft access (and update of 5 tables more regularly)...
    so...

What are the pre-reqsites needed to make this connectivity...
What are the drivers/softwarz, supposed to install to achieve my goal...

    Datebase:11 g 1
    OS: wisdows XP

and if you can, please give me a better link, from a beginner / give me a brief description...

    Kind regards
    JP@valapad

    Hi JP,
    I'm glad it's working now.
    To answer your questions-

    1. access the column names are case sensitive must delimit them by double quotes in a select statement to access in this case, otherwise they are converted to upper case.
So try to select it as -

    Select 'name' of dep_mst@db_link;

    2. can I update oracle ms access tables?
Yes, DG4ODBC supports updated statements, so it should work for access also. The only restriction is that DG4ODBC cannot be used in distributed transactions, is that you can not update Oracle and Access in the same statement. There must be a validation between the 2 updates.
You can not use the gateway to update access Oracle.

    3 can you in brief/link on hs agents ("PROGRAM = " @listener.ora file (sucha as dg4odbc) "")
Different gateways have a different name for the agent of hs created for the gateway. For example, Database Gateway for SQL * Server uses (program = dg4msql) and DG4Sybase uses (program = dg4sybs).
Hs agent is the software that manages the communication between the Oracle database and non-Oracle database.
HS heterogeneous services which is the RDBMS software layer that manages communications outside the database.

  • Connect to MYSQL

    Hi all
Please tell me the steps to connect to mysql with jdeveloper. Please tell me the steps, variables that should define and steps in DBAdapter.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Mahesh

First of all, you need the connection with the database, JDeveloper preferences find database connections and define the new using the MySQL database (just pass the location of the driver). Then you can set your database connection in the connection browser, run the wizard and follow the instructions (choose third-party JDBC driver at the beginning), your newly defined driver must appear on the list of classes of the pilot. When finished, you can test the connection and start using it.

Point out that's not all, if you want to deploy your services on the stand-alone server this server must be able to connect to your database too.

  • Connection to mysql Dreamweaver CS6 Question

I use DW CS6. I have bulit a site for the company that I work for who has a purchase order online who submits to a mysql database. Everything works fine up until recently. We have a creative cloud subscription, so my CS6 automatically updated to new CC DW not too long ago. I'm not affixed to CC, but I'm much more comfortable with the functionality of CS6 see that's what I've learned about. I am self-taught with DW, php and mysql, picking up everything I can find on the internet and on YouTube. I have re-uploaded CS6, but in this transition, I lost all my server settings. All of my settings for MySQL connections under server behaviors have not changed.

I get an error when I try to make my connection to database.

    (1) there is no server running on the server test.

    2) the test specified for this site server is not mapped with the http://... _mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL. Make sure that the URL prefix is the root of the site.

I have a remote server and the server of test set up in the categories of the site (both are remote connections). When I test the connection it he tells me that he managed. I am able to upload files to the remote server and the test server. My only hang up is trying to connect to the mysql database. I had to make some changes to your order with some updates. Since doing so I get an error 'the query is empty' when trying to submit on the site in the database.

The only thing that has changed on our end is that we recently updated our server to the Server2012 operating system. I was wondering if there was a possible firewall issue.

Is there a single platform which is easier to manipulate than the other?

You mean between MySQLi and PDO? MySQLi looks much more like the origin of mysql. PDO is purely object-oriented, which might be a bit confusing at the beginning for those who have never worked with OO.

He wrote much of the code base for you behind the scenes

.. .and because those who used it almost never lean how to encode themselves. they have been trapped by what DW would create for them.

  • Drop into the PHP code to connect using MySQL and MyAdmin

This code should be as common as dirt, but I need help in looking for it. Considering how most of the sites have a mode of connection it surprises me that DW does not have some kind of widget to encode the fundamentals, but I digress.  I have a family site private, accessible by a username / password to a file static login.php. I think of moving to the next level will require the use of MySQL and a database... which seems a bridge too far... However, what I "think" I want to do is... (especially #5)

    1. a login for predefined members (40 odd) system using a primary e-mail address as ID.
    2. a connection that has a remember me option
    3. a connection that would show the user the last time that he / she has logged in and how many times.
    4. a method of sending an email with the username and password of the user
    5. a method of object defining his username and / or password.
    6. When changes are made an email is sent to me
    7. and... possibly different access levels / permissions, as in, shareholder have full access and no shareholders / clients have access to only a few pages.

Can point to a location that would have such a code available for a cut and paste the developer... with instructions

    Thank you for your time.

    (How?)

    • Check if the email address exists and if so

Here's one way you could do it, BUT it seems a lot of work if you have dozens of users - why your passwords/user names contained in the bays and not a database?

In any case taking the 3 examples you gave above, and assuming that you have sent your username to a 'recover' username and password ' page that has a form on it asking the the e-mail address of the user (gives the name of "email_address" entry field and then submit directly to the next page) : it grabs the value of the field in the form email_address and then checks through the berries if the email address exists. If he sends the user name and password to this email address.

I guess it's a site of low security keys so that you need not md5 passwords.

NOTE PLEASE I HAVE INSERTED AN "X" IN THE E-MAIL ADDRESSES WHICH NEEDS TO BR REMOVED. (SPAM)

  • Create the connection using MySQLi?

I / authentication of the connection of the lines of existing code on my web site, but they are written in MySQL. I understand that I have to upgrade these procedures for MySQLi language. While most of my server behaviors have been improved using the 3rd party of WebAssist extension, they do not have a solution out of the box for this problem, and I'm NOT a programmer. Ideally, I would like that the site works like most of the major sites where, if the user has forgotten his or her password, an e-mail link is sent to them where they have a link back in and reset his password. Can someone point me in the right direction? I use DreamWeaver CC on a Windows 7 system.

    Hello
You can use the database for ODBC (DG4ODBC) gateway to establish a connection to the MySQL database, and then use the copy, "create table as select... "or select / insert commands to move the data from MySQL in Oracle tables.
You will need access to My Oracle Support, but the following notes have details on setting up Dg4ODBC on variosu - platforms

How to set up DG4ODBC on x 86 32 bit Linux or HP - UX RISC (11.1 DG4ODBC only) to connect to databases Non-Oracle post installation (Doc ID 466228.1)
How to set up DG4ODBC on 64 bit OS Unix (Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP - UX Itanium) to connect to Oracle databases Post Install (Doc ID 561033.1)
How the installer DG4ODBC (gateway for ODBC Oracle database) on Windows 32 bits (Doc ID 466225.1)
How to set up DG4ODBC (gateway for ODBC Oracle database) on 64-bit Windows operating systems to connect to Oracle databases Post Install (Doc ID 1266572.1)

Then this note contains information on the data - transfer
