  You can use the function fDBExtract of the HFM adapter class to extract data from HFM in a flat file, and then import this file in FDM.

• HFM FDM 11.1.2.2 adapter download

  We are FDM for HFM 11.1.2.2 configuration and I don't see the downloads of the adapter on the Oracle website more.

  (a) Yes. Even if they have access FDM to a location that corresponds to the HFM entity, they will not be able to actually export/load HFM data without access to good security.
  (b) it depends a bit. If the new entity is loaded as a piece of a book / existing location, you will need to just update the map of the entity for the existing location. If it's a totally new company, then you can go the whole nine yards and create the location of FDM, etc. and entity HFM, cards.

  It is difficult to comment on what is a "best practice", as that is defined by your organization might not be valid somewhere else.

  There are two options:
  1 EA jobs
  2 HFM data extracts

  Each requires some custom scripts and road maps based on what you're trying to do.

  If you choose #1 - you will probably use an integration Script to read from a specific database table.
  If you choose #2 - you will use HFM API to generate a flat file; and then go flat file in FDM for treatment.

  Maybe someone can help me: I am using objects HFM FDM, but without success.
  Yes, I did:
  1. register HsxClient.dll from the financial record Client/Management on FDM App Server to FDM workbench client = > I get a message that it has been successful
  2 import libraries HsxClient.dll FDM = > I can see the library
  3. try to open the HsxClient object in the Script of FDM. Here, I always get an error saying that the hsxclient class is not defined. I tried after codes: Set = CreateObject ("HSXCLIENTLib.HsxClient") and Set test = new HsxClient
  
  Maybe someone can help me on how to initalise the hfm objects. Do I need a different encoding? Or is the recording of the incorrect dll (where can verify this?). A strange thing is also - as soon as I restart the FDM Workbench client - library of hsxclient is no longer visible.

  If you are scripting in FDM you will use vbscript as well and if only the New keyword will certainly not work.

• Essbase to HFM using FDM?

  Hi, can we really move data (Essbase) planning to HFM using FDM, there is also a diffrence in the metadata in the application, the Planning (Source) has 10 dimensions, while applications HFM (Target) has only 8 dimensions.
  
  If this can be done throough FDM you can tell me how and if not you can suggest what could be a possible way to do it.

  Bottom line:
  1 FDM for Hyperion EPM Applications loads data it does not natively extract information
  2. it would be a strong personalization based on several other products to produce a flat file or a table of data base for the integration of SQL

  I installed the Hyperion Veriosn 11 - HFM, FDM and configured them with success, when I started to create a new application, I can't find the HFM adapter in V14603-01 (Oracle Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management Adapter Suite, Fusion Edition Release 11.1.1.1.0) where I can find the adapter for essbase and enterprise.
  
  Is there any place I can find the HFM adapter? Or I can use the 9 systems?

  Hello

  Just run Setup again, select products by components, and then select FDQM adapter for HFM group FDM of components.

  Request for copy of HFM utility and utility upgrade of application are the best choice.

  FDM has its own upgrade utility.

  Reports export/import to workspace.

  After that I loaded to HFM FDM data I can't display the data, the data are not available, if I see the State of calculation, status seems NC ND, then tried to consolidate but consolidation Aborted n/b 20-30% can we all give me any suggestions to solve my problem, what might be the reasons for this.

• Application of FDM - Oracle database issues

  We use the Hyperion HFM/FDM - 11.1.1.3 application. Recently, the Oracle database server is migrated to another server with an updated release 11g and we have reconfigured all HFM/FDM application on the new database server.  But when stop us the old database, we are not able to connect to the application of the FDM. When we have verified all the XML configuration files, the code xml files have new details only of the databases.

  When connecting to the web app FDM, we got the error messages below,

  An error occurred logging system: database user ID and password are required for the connection

  I think it's a silly question, but for me it's a challenge. I am a HFM implementation resource, so I generally follow the project plan and build the application according to the needs of the customer. However, this time my boss asked me to do an evaluation for a customer who has already HFM upward and the work. I'm supposed to understand the company, the application and recommend improvements. For a technical resource like me, it is quite difficult.
  So here's my question:
  
  How would you start the assessment? What are the suggestions that you can do to a (good) job application? More calculations (I fear, it could impact the performance of the application)? Ratio analysis (this corresponds more to business)?
  
  I know that it sounds that I need to Self-Help group, but believe me... For me, it's a huge challenge!

  Hey read,

  Looks like you'll want to review the infrastructure (that should be easy for you), but also the design of the application. I think that the first thing you want to do is to ensure that you are meeting the right people, those who have an interest in the application and processes. If they have a good administrator, he or she may be a starting point. The next thing is to make sure that you ask the right questions. There are many, but essentially, you will need to identify the current pain points.

  Is physical or virtual infrastructure?
  Is the infrastructure up to date?
  How many environments are set up (prod/qa/dev)?
  Moves production to dev and vice versa easy?
  Is there a disaster recovery plan and has it been tested?
  The it Department is able to handle questions?
  Is there any pressing IT issues?
  Are there future initiatives which would impact HFM/tools (deployment of Office 2010)?
  End-users have a process to report issues, especially during critical moments such as fence?

  What version of the application, they are on?
  Is there a reason to update (new features, performance 64 bit)?
  What entries are there for HFM (FDM, ERPi)?
  How data flows from the source systems?
  What outputs are there and for which functional groups (who are the customers, is how the retrieved data, it respects their needs)?
  How is training and could be better?
  End users are comfortable with their process (SmartView, FR)?
  Y at - it a power user groups and systematic of calls?
  What are the existing major pain points?
  It is a slow consolidation?
  Metadata could be cleaned?
  If the design of the application today, what could be done differently?
  How custom dimensions were used?
  Is there too much data into the consolidation system?
  Pourraient added additional data (taxes, cash, by product/customer)?
  Is all high-level respected requirements?
  Eliminations and currency conversion currently work correctly?
  Are they taking advantage of the app has to offer (lists, process management, reporting, reviews, plot i / c matching, etc.)?
  All new hierarchies would be beneficial? Some could be deleted? It would be advantageous to rebuild the app and clean some things?

  I'm sure you could go on for days with these questions. In respect of the rules file that does the calculations, you'll want to just dig and understand (this is a vba file and the admin can you provide an extract or help you with it). It may or may not be means to drive some efficiency gains and reduce delays in consolidation. There are third-party tools to help with this, but take some time and walking through it all works very well.

  I'm working on one of my customer specifications where we go look for the description of the account referred to the mapped account, I tried to edit the sql statement in the workbench, but met with no success. Any body met with such similar requirement and have succeeded in establishing this?., if yes then please let me know how to do with that.

  The Tables HFM script fill SUN under Custom > General in the workbench feeds the tdimaccount table in the database application with descriptions of HFM FDM account and will allow for them to be registered in the TB reports. That should solve the problem.

• Problem changing the database of reports of HFM

  Hi, I have currently two applications in HFM, one is for the development and the other for testing
  
  I have several reports in my application dev., and I'm trying to use them in the test application.
  
  I followed the manual instructions on how to change the connection of database reports using the tools-> menu change the database connection on the workspace.
  
  I managed to most of the cases, but 4 reports throw a warning that says ArrayIndexOutOfBounds that blocks the process of "migration."
  
  Could someone help me with this one?

  I hate to say it, but I have a lot of problems with that too. Sometimes it does not give an error, but it does not work. My solution is to change the connection of database outside the workspace and re-import them manually. In particular, this makes the most sense if you have a quantity in bulk of reports to work with. (i.e., I have a new app and I want to import a group of reports to run against it).

  As I do this is to use a text search and replace tool and replace the existing information in the database with the new information.

  I've posted a text on how to do it here.
