SQL Server 2008 R2 CPU and RAM requirement for HFM/FDM

Summary of the problem

---------------------------------------------------

Requirement of SQL Server 2008 R2 for HFM/FDM

Description of the problem

---------------------------------------------------

We install a new EPM 11.1.2.3 - HFM and FDM on one server that hosts the services of the Foundation and FR. Our question is on the CPU and Ram needed on the SQL Server. We have 2 users with 4 GB of data, but we have to get the good performance of SQL server.

Please provide me with a white paper link or just tell me what it takes.

Thanks in advance.

4 CPUS and 16 GB of RAM should be more than enough to support your needs

    @Dave-SC, welcome to the forum.

The truth is, HP has their motherboards and components made to their specifications.  For this reason, it is difficult to find a motherboard that has holes which will be adapted to the accessory in the case.  The best way to upgrade, it is to buy a new computer.  We advance the money long term.

  • problems with wireless after the motherboard, cpu and ram upgrade adapters

As the title says, I have recently updated my card mother, cpu and ram (increased from Asrock extreme6 z77/i7 3770 k/Kingston 8 gb hyperx for EVGA ftw/i5 z97 4670 k/g. Skill ripjaw x 16 gb). I always use the same installation of Windows 7 64 via the same SSD. After I was installing new equipment, I used the disc that comes with the motherboard and installed all the drivers that were available (twice, just to be safe). All the features of the OS I had before seem to be there except to exit Device Manager to correctly install the drivers for my wireless (Linksys AE1000 and TP Link N900) adapters. I downloaded the current driver for the Linksys Web site and I have the disc for the TP-Link and I tried several times to install, but keep the same message ' Windows found driver software for your device, but has encountered an error trying to install it. Device Manager recognizes the device and it is not any question of State symbol (IE yellow triangle, etc.) that is displayed in conjunction with an adapter. I tried disable/re-enabling and uninstall/re-installing times and keep having the same problem. I tried to search in several forums of people with similar problems, but none of the resolutions seem to work or are suitable for my situation. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

When you upgrade your motherboard, cpu and ram, drivers for particular devices may not be related to other drivers. That's why I suggest you to install all the drivers for the chipset from the manufacturers website and see if that helps.

  • CF9, IIS7 and SQL Server 2008 R2 - recommendations

    Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I've been task (in a short period of time), to place a CF site built by another group (and by selecting an Oracle DB), on IIS7 using SQL Server 2008 R2 and CF9 without CF Builder.
I did a little research (but not enough) and found contradictory answers as you install CF9 on the same box that IIS7 and others say place CF9 on your PC (logic). I have the Adobe Press books for CF9 however they reference CF Builder (don't have) and Dreamweaver CS5 not (have). I'll add that the last time I used CF was CF5. My hat went to Adobe for all the major improvements.

My question: where, in your opinion can I find a good 'How to' source to make this all come together?

    Thank you!
    JoDigital

The ColdFusion server documentation says you really all what you need to know, and it's pretty concise. I recommend to only start there.

You install CF on your IIS server for your production environment. This is the standard approach 99 + % of the time. There are two alternative approaches: distributed mode and reverse proxy configuration, but unless you have very specific requirements (usually related to security) you can safely of these approaches ignore.

Generator of CF and Dreamweaver are tools of development. You don't have to worry of allowing them to set up your production environment. Individual developers can use CF Builder, Dreamweaver (or really any other text editor) installed on their own workstation to write scripts that can be deployed in a test environment or development. Independent developers can also install CF on their own workstation, if they want to test locally - it's a fairly common thing to do. But none of this has nothing to do with the implementation of your production environment, really.

None of these things have really changed that much since the CF 5 either. As with CF 5, you install CF on your production web server, and you can also install it locally for development.

If you switch from Oracle to SQL Server, this is something separate, which will require that you change things on your database and in your existing code base CF.

  • Error in SQL Server 2008 R2 update: WindowsUpdate_84b20001

I get this error message when you try to update SQL Server 2008 R2 update error: WindowsUpdate_84b20001.

I have a suggestion for the knowledge base to rename the file %systemroot%\System32\Spupdsvc.exe in Spupdsvc.old, but the file does not exist in the first place. It's actually a fix for the problem 84b2000B, and my problem is code b 84, 20001.

I also tried with FixIt but it meets av problem and cannot continue. No message about it though.

When searching for the community I have fnd no obvious solution. I had this problem since September 2011 and the daily update fails every day since then. I have about 2 GB of free space (total Congress GB 139) on the HDD, 4 GB of RAM and is running Windows Vista on a laptop HP Compaq 6715 b (old since I bought this as a new computer at my retailer in December 2007). I use AVAST anivirus but he seems to have nothing to do with the problem of to. I also have drivers and firmware for hardware updated latest version a week ago but nothing seems to help.

I also have problem installing SQL server Express. And cannot install Visual Studio 2010 Pro SP1 probably as a couse direct of this installation failure.

Suggestions how proceed in diagnosing this problem help no doubt at some level. I'm completely stuck now.

If you post in the forums of Microsoft SQL Server, you will get most help for this issue.  Thank you.
