• Two questions on the same blade

  I'm developing a questionnaire of type on Captivate 4. I have a section where he first asks the user a yes / no question, and then teaches them to type in an explanation if they chose 'yes '. I also need this work so that the two question-answers (Yes/No and the answer text) the spokesperson of the LMS/Email report.

  It's possible, if you are ready to use variables and advanced actions where you create the question slide totally. Maybe is easy to imitate the workflow you ask, by duplicating the YES/no slide of short answer Question No response in a text caption (you can add) to a default value. I'll try to explain:

  • You create a true/false question slide and be sure that there is enough space left under the answer
  • You create a short answer question, but reorganize this question and add a text caption. In this TC, you will have the answer that appears when access to this slide.
  • If the answer is Yes, go to the second slide, where you show the Yes. If the answer is no, jump elsewhere

  Even if you still Question two slides, normally the user will not be aware.

• can 2 questions on the same blade cause different identifiers?

  I use 8 Captivate. I have problems with the interaction of SCORM 1.2 question ID.

  I have 2 questions in the survey on the same blade. When it is reported to the LMS, these two issues appear. But they have the same interaction ID. For example:

  I hope that my spouse

  My spouse trusts me

  These two questions are emerging in Moodle as this:

  Agree 12345_I_trust_my_spouse

  12345_My_spouse_trusts_me disagree

  Is it possible to add a second identifier to each question? It would help my queries of the database of the LMS.

  Not as far as I know, because each slide of questionnaire has only one identifier...

  You could create a custom Likert question, using standard objects and having an interactive object for each question. Each interactive 'object' can have its identifier. But a question slide is considered to be "one" object, not each response.

  correct inputs 2 or less = reveals a legend of failure and directs the user to a section of the examination.

  You can literally use the same actions in Captivate 5. You will have a Next button and normal examination (instead of a form button), and maybe you don't need the 'actor', I added. I would like to know if you have any problems or questions.

• Use the standard action and action scripts conditional on the same blade upon entry

  I want two different types of action to run on blade scripts enter the same blade, one second apart.

  1 script: fill a variable with the current date.  It is a standard action going right.

  2nd script (run 1 sec after the first script): If the above variable is greater than the current date, follow these steps.  It is a conditional action.

  How can I get Captivate perform these two actions in the same blade?  I can do if 1 script is located on the previous slide and the script 2nd on the second slide.  However this does not look good.  I want these two scripts to run on enter the same blade.  I use CP8.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  You can use the two decisions, the first decision designating a standard simulated action by using a condition that always leads to True:

  First decision "always."

  IF 1 is equal to 1

  Assign the v_one with...                         the commands of your standard action

  Second decision «...» »

  IF v_one is equal to cpInfoCurrentDateString your conditional action

  However, in CP8 it is NOT possible to delay of 1 orders dry, this is only possible in CP9. Why you want to defer checking?

  You can check the Advanced Interaction Panel? You have a note attached to the interactive objects in the simulation? If so, check the desired option Quiz, more specific preferences.

• Is it possible to have TTS for several boxes to click on the same blade?

  Using v.7 and Win 7 here. Have a project where I use the voice of text-to-speech TTS of Paul. So far so good. I need to build an interactive slide with mulitple boxes click so that the learner can evaluate where they run into the status of projects. Is it possible to use the TTS for these mulitple boxes to click on the same blade? I see that you can import audio as a .wav or MP3 file but do not know how generate you TTS and save it separately, then it would be possible to import.

• Office 2007 security updates do not settle on XP SP3. Manual installation with the user account via the Web site to download works. But when the same file is launched via a regular command prompt, it fails again.

• A pdf file exported from InDesign, but displays various error messages when the same file is downloaded on the same laptop from the company's Web site

  I'm having a problem with a pdf file created for my business. It exports without problems and displays correctly on my computer, but once it is transferred to the Web site and you download from here, pages randomly displayed not correctly, images and pieces of text go missing and different "internal error" messages pop up, such as:
  

  "An internal error has occurred."

  "There is an error on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the pdf document to correct the problem.

  "Failed to retrieve the embedded police"LICYDR + GaramondMT". Some characters may not display or print correctly.
  "Insufficient for an image.

  And when I close the pdf file it asks if I want to save even if I did not bring any changes to the document. It seems that everyone has problems with pages and receive different error messages. It is exported using the smallest file size preset in InDesign. Any idea what could be the cause? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  One thing to check is if BINARY is used in the FTP client. If a client FTP ASCII is used, it may corrupt PDF files.

  Here's another thing to check yourself for you. Find the size in bytes of your original PDF. Now, look at the size of the uploaded file in bytes. Are they the same? If this is not the case, ask your colleague the size in bytes of the PDF file on the server. Is this the same as the original, or bad file?

  The above code will trap field name erors and advise of the number and continues to run.

• Want to stay on the same blade after button click - Captivate 5

  I have a button that I use to bring up a separate, a directory browser window. I need this button on every page of the module. I've got boxes to click to control the flow of the timeline from one page to another. When the user clicks on the glossary, it should stay on the current page, its information and dismiss the glossary. When I run it, the timeline stops for the button, and if clicked, the timeline progresses at the break of the click box, always on the same page. But if the user clicks on the button again, the pop-up window works but Captivate goes to the next page. Is it possible to prevent this, so that a user can click any number of times on the button without going through the progress of the timeline past this page?

  I use a javascript call to do what you describe all the time.

  Since I use all the time I incorporate the real full javascript in the "standard.js" Captivate file. This is the complete script:

  I save the file standard.js. On my desktop, it's the path to this file:

  C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5\Templates\Publish\standard.js

  Now I can call the script anytime.

  Here's how to set up the click-box:

  If you look at the picture of Rick (thanks Rick) in the menu control properties to the title of the Action, for the success, choose Run Javascript.

  Then click on the button in the Script window, it opens an empty window. Given that you call just the javascript code, you need not put the script in the window. Here is an example:

  JavaScript:openBrWindow('myURL.html','thewindowname','height=800px,Width=1000px,ScrollBars_=yes');

  Example of THS opens a window 800px high and 1000 px in width with the scroll bars. You can add additional attributes if you wish. Make sure the URL is correct and is the correct path and if you have more than one of them on a slide that the name of the window will have to be different. (If this continues the slide to the slide you don't have to have them all as a single, only for more than one on a slide.

  Now, click on the small arrow next to the button of the Script window. This produces a small drop down (as shown on the picture of Rick). Make sure you select 'Top' and disable the 'continue playing the Project '.

  This control makes the newly laid on the project window and stops playback of the slide. You can set other options in the properties to enable or disable captions as needed.

  I hope this helps.

• Two action buttons on the same blade

  Can anyone help?

  I want to create a slide that gives the user two options. ;

  Either click on a button to go to a slide, I called 'Part 1' and continue the project until the end. or click another button to go to a slide, I called "Part 2" so miss the slides before "part 2" in order to continue to the end.

  Whenever I try to do that, when I click on the button that should take me to the slide I called part 2, I always end up on the slide I have called "part 1".

  I don't know there must be an easy way to 'jump' to different slides in a project via clicking the buttons on the same slide, but cannt get by.

  It seems to me that you have a question buried in the substance of part 1, no slide? And if you do, I suspect more than you have set up your options quizzing such questions (or maybe even the question at hand) SHOULD continue before continuing. If this is the case, you will not be able to go beyond the question slide.

• Hide folders when the window of research project?

  When you perform a search in the project window, is it possible to hide the folders that contain the results?

  I work in online, and when I receive an offline editing tool often have very complicated folder structures to differentiate publishers offline between the cameras, shoot days, subjects, archives... But online I don't want that information, in fact normally I really want only a folder with all the media, and I may choose to sort by type of device for my own reference (all say the GoPro wants zoom 101%), but it is unlikely that I want to split things more than that.

  Any ideas?

  You can hide the tray, but then the result of your search (and everything else in this sandbox) will be hidden as well.

  I think that what you really want here is to reorganize the bins to your liking.

• Next button does not move come, but retains a loop on the same blade

  I use 9 Captivate and am facing a problem with the next button. I did an image button and you want to move to the next slide. I have 15 slides in the project, but only the next button on slide 5 rather than navigate to slide 6, maintains a loop to slide 5. Ask for help from anyone who can help or was faced with a similar problem.

  You can also check the actions of slide 6? More specific actions on the exit Enter / we on this slide? Maybe after a screenshot of the Interaction Panel advanced (F9)? Make sure that the actions for the slides and objects are completely visible by increasing the width of this column in the Panel.

  Have you ever tried to delete slides and recreate it? It is always useful to mention the exact version number, you use as well.
