High CPU consumption (always between 12 and 30%)

I am running Firefox 9.0.1 for Mac. Until the upgrade to version 9.0.1 I had no use of high CPU problems... I've now must constantly between 12% and 30% of CPU and up to sometimes use much further than that, which really slows down my Mac to a point where I have to kill Firefox to use other applications.

I have a new Mac mini with fast CPU and 8 GB of RAM.

I tried to reinstall and also to disable the 4 Add-ons I have installed. After a new installation and all 4 disabled add-ons, I see exactly the same problem even with one tab open to google.com

Any help from the community is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

I've upgraded to Firefox 10 and this issue is now resolved.

  • High CPU usage by "System outages" and missing keystrokes in IE on all new HP laptop 15-r085nd

I recently bought a HP15-r085nd (Win 8.1 with Bing), and right out of the box, I encountered this problem:

After the awakening of the mode (usually after the first time to wake from sleep mode, but always after the second time), the process "System outages" has high utilization of the processor, up to 45%. The laptop then responds very, very slow. In addition, in Internet Explorer (but only in Internet Explorer, it seems!) strikes are missing out.

    I tried the following:

-Implementation of all the updates of Windows, all McAfee updates and all of the updates from HP Assistent. No results.

-Reinstall all the drivers, no results. Windows system restore: no result. Factory reset the recovery partition: no result. Then implemented all the updates again: no result.

-J' tried to use Microsoft Xperf to diagnose the problem: it seems wdf0100.sys to blame for the high CPU usage. (In other words, if I have interpreted the results in the right way).

-J' then did some troubleshooting with Microsoft Support: they asked me to disable all startup items in the Task Manager and disable all non-Microsoft services in msconfig. The result was that the high CPU usage of "System interrupts" occurred less frequently after the first time out of the way 'sleep', but still she always had after the second time to wake off mode 'sleep'. Uninstallation of McAfee seems to have the same effect, by the way.

-J' then did some troubleshooting with the store were I bought it. They used a pilot program to install newer versions of the drivers. Also, in vain.

Then they gave me another laptop of the same model (r085nd). It had exactly the same problems. So I think that all laptops of this model have the same problem! Does anyone know of a similar case with a laptop similar?

-J' then did some troubleshooting with HP support. We have updated the BIOS (F.24), without result. We have made a few updates to additional drivers on the HP site, no results. We wanted to update the graphic driver Intel HD (sp65598), but we couldn't install it, an error message saying: minimum system requirements were not satisfied.

I hope that the HP support can arrive at a solution (they wanted to deepen this). If so, I'll promise to post it here, because it affects probably other r085nd HP as well.

In the mean time, I'd appreciate any suggestions, because I'm totally confused now. Someone at - it ideas? I will answer all the answers!

I was contacted by HP Support again. After a new series of updates which included some updates everything new on the site of HP is solved the problem with high CPU usage by "system outages"!

We have done several updates, so I know not that exactly solved the problem, but it is those:

-New firmware BIOS: version F.33 (my bet would be that is the one that solves the problem)

-New Intel chipset driver: 1.20 (sp69575.exe)

-New driver Intel HD Graphics: 1.20 (sp69589.exe): 10.18.10.3958 (this one tried earlier, without solving the problem)

-New driver Realtek card reader: 1.20Ap3 (sp69610.exe)

I hope this helps other people with the same problem.

Thanks to the HP Support team for their help with this problem!

Moreover, the problem of lack of strikes in Internet Explorer (more use of CPU (any reason), the sequences of keys more are not registered!) still exists! I work around this problem by using Google Chrome. Again, I hope that this issue might get resolved as well! I nevertheless marks it as "Resolved" as the main problem is resolved.

You can join V$ SESSION on the SID. The column PROCESS in V$ SESSION is the ID of the client operating system process.

  • Unnecessarily high CPU usage.

Out, I say firstly that I am a complete computer rookie. For about 4 days now, my laptop has been sluggish. I opened the Task Manager and upward for most of the time, the CPU usage is between 70% and 100%. I stopped quite a few programs that open at startup, and it made no difference. I've been looking around on the internet for centuries now, and I can't find any problems like mine because only the process takes more than 35%, the rest being very low. It doesn't seem to be something that is an obvious problem. I ran Spybot and AVG scans without result. Help, please! I don't know which slows down my system!

    Hello

AVG might be the root cause of the problem, as the two 8.x and 9.x are problems.

A tip about SpyBot, which is a program very well, has problems with IE8, Vista and Windows 7. In his
settings disable TeaTimer apply / OK and then start - type in search-> Services
Right-click the top CONTROL - right on - RUN AS admin find the Service SBSD and set it to MANUAL
STOP. You can now use SpyBot as a scanner on demand without slowdown problems
which it is resident. Vista and Windows 7 have also excellent built in Spyware Scan with
Defender and most of the antivirus/security products add so there's already a bit of
redundancy resident. Don't forget to RESTART after setting those.

What process is using all cycles? Tab CTRL SHIFT ESC - Task Manager - processes-

    * Original title: help! High utilization of the processor and corrupted files

I have a Windows 7 computer. I had a very high cpu usage these days. When I run nothing it is between 80 and 100%. I tried to run spybot and malware bytes on normal and clean boot and nothing fixed. I ran SFC/scannow on boot and he says that some corrupt files can be fixed. I also tried a cleaning of windows security program and that did nothing no more. I know things high cpu is idle system, rndll32.exe, mcafeeshield.exe, perfmon.exe svhost.exe, one of these. I tried to follow which one in monitor resource but I could not find the culprit. The computer certainly did not raise cpu mode start minimum btw. I tried to stop some services too such that windows update is stopped and still nothing. Help, please!

  • Acer aspire problem vn7 - 591 g nitro with high CPU and GPU temperatures

Hello! I recently noticed some issues (lower fps) performance when you play semi demanding like cs and Overwatch, although pretty much the lowest settings. I went to download CPUID (software to monitor your hardware) to check my temperature and I noticed that I reach 90 low to high (depending on the game) when I play.

I thought it might be dust or something inside so I removed the keyboard of the laptop part and used some canned air to remove any dust I could reach (without removing the motherboard). I also managed to get your hands on a laptop computer, cooling rack. The problem is that all these efforts really solved the problem. Just a slightly lower temperature on the GPU and about the same on the processors. I'm starting to wonder if it could be the thermal paste, which need to be replaced? I had the computer for a little over a year now. Does anyone else know similar problems? Help or advice would be appriecated.

    Hello

The CPU and the GPU are designed to operate at these temperatures. If they are too high they will be the butterfly, and if even this does not then at some point they just instantly shut down to avoid any possible damage.

Changing thermal paste may improve performance, but you will only get lower temperatures. Your CPU/GPU will probably run at higher clock speeds and will not throttle, but temperatures will be in the same range. But in my experience if you can change the thermal paste, you should.

Also, you can use the laptop fan control that has the configuration for 591g and it may further increase the fan speed. I think, from the factory, the maximum speed of the fan is just about 60-70%.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the flickering and high CPU utilization issue.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • High CPU and disk utilization slows down the response

Two years, Pavilion dv7 - 2273ca running Windows 7 64-bit; Norton 360; IE8; Thunderbird; Microsoft Office 2007.  Tend to have several windows open at the same time.  For automatic updates

Almost every day the laptop enters a period of very high CPU usage; often accompanied by high disk usage.  The response time of the laptop is compromised to the point that I often have to stop using it until activity slows.  I try to use the resource monitor, but do not know enough to say if the legitimate operations or something wrong.  Norton frequently shows svchost.exe and iexplore.exe as a heavy user of the CPU.

Is this a normal behavior?  If not - any advice on how to identify the culprit?

On the advice of a HP technician, I ran check disk, and then restore the system in August.  end hard drive.  System Restore did not difference in performance.

Most of the processor have more of the base, there will be a CPU 0 and 1 for the dual core processors. Different colors are different carrots 0 and 1

If you sort as I proposed that the highest CPU usage will float to the top, you have to watch it when your cpu pork starts to act up.

The colors of disc are reading and writing, its hard disk is read or write data on the trays.

A high utilization of the processor or disk can be considered normal at times, but should not go on constantly.and by dragging down the performance of the system

Lets say you run a video in your browser, the CPU usage rises, running other programs can do the same thing.

The disk activity can be high at times also, depends on what you do on the PC, but shouldn't be high all the time.

Duplication of port is configured on a single port

    Thank you for your help

The rear modules are not designed for the addition with the switch, so even if this is not the cause of this, unplug the switch before you add modules is the recommended method to add. EnvMontask and BoxReq are for surveillance of the fans and the temperature, so adding a module could be the cause. With what is a PoE switch, it could be a device drawing too much power.

Reloading is probably the best first step to take. In addition, remove the module and update firmware would be the next steps. Is probably not a device connected, but unplug the cables and see if it causes a change in the CPU usage can also be useful.

  • Windows Update causes high CPU AND not let me install Windows 10

Windows 7 update has several issues:

1 Windows Update Service causes the CPU usage high - CPU usually works 50% or more with a single SVCHOST.exe running.  I click with the right button on the SVCHOST entry in Task Manager-processes and saw all the services that SVCHOST is still running.  One at a time, I stopped and restarted them.  Finally, when I stopped the Windows Update service, the cpu immediately fell to almost nothing.  I rebooted and tested several times, and each time, it was Windows Update service that was causing the high CPU.

    2. Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor says I could upgrade to Windows 10, and get the icon Windows 10 is in the toolbar.  But it has failed to install several times.  Now, after stopping and restarting the service of updating (and I checked, it is started), the window get Windows 10 rises, is empty and goes.

    3. I ran the Update Diagnostic and got 1 error:

    Windows Update error 0 x 80070003(2016-04-04-T-04_56_09P)

the Details of the Diag Windows Update window said:

    RootCause: RC-DataStore

    Error code: 0 x 80070003

    4. I tried to launch the 'Fixit' for update, but it did nothing.

    5. I tried to update Windows Update WindowsUpdateAgent30 - x 64 .exe Agent,

but it fails with this message:

"Windows Update Agent Installer has met a fatal error"

    6. when I try to start Windows Update-check for updates, it displays the dialog box "check for Updates" and activity indicator green runs and runs and runs for more than 10 minutes but nothing happens.  And when I check the view update history, it shows no updates, even though I know that I've run a LOT of updates in recent years.

    7. I thought to reinstall Windows 7.  I went to download from Microsoft, and when repair installation it activated my key it says that it wasn't a retail version, so check with the supplier (in this case HP).  I checked with HP and they said that this machine was is no longer supported.

    8. on the way I've renamed the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution-Windows SDOLD, force it to create a new (probably why it does not find the old updates).  IT did not help.

So it seems to me this machine is expandable to 10 Windows (it meets the specifications and the Advisor to update Windows-10 said yes and installed the toolbar).  But something is wrong, probably with Windows Updater, and now nothing will be update or upgrade.  And I can't get a new copy of Windows 7.

So, any thoughts?  I'm out of ideas.

I have an Acer Aspire laptop. Windows 7-64 bit. My CPU usage has been quite erratic for months. She sometimes becomes up to 4 or 5%, but most of the time, he is running between 50 and 100% (I have a counter on my desk). I've been running all kinds of tools and cleaning methods. I had McAfee antivirus for a prior year of minimal, but renewed problems a few months ago and found strange and annoying that he wouldn't be updated every day while I was working. I assumed something was wrong with her, so I replaced it with a program that I got for free with another purchase from Best Buy... Trend Micro, I think it was called. Well, it appeared that Trend Micro used more process and CPU than McAfee. At that time, I thought it would be safer and cleaner for Microsoft Security Essentials TM trade. I also have CCleaner installed and I run it every other day or two. I also run r-kill and tdsskiller a few times but never found something dangerous. I removed everything that I felt uncomfortable unused programs were safe to remove. The last thing that I see and which seems odd to me is that, at startup, a "command prompt" icon will appear briefly in my taskbar and then quickly go to 'start' 'recent '... I have never seen this before so it seems weird, like a clue any. Also in the last few days, usually online, but also with Solitair Windows offline. Either the cursor will freeze or the screen freezes making useless cursor, even for a moment, and sometimes I'll just "end task." I'm not a gamer, I mainly watch movies and videos... Try, anyway! My PC recently turned very, very slowly and often unresponsive.  When I bring up the Task Manager, on the processes tab, I see that Windows.exe uses as much as 1 million K of memory and often the CPU ranges between 50 and 100%.  What is happening while no application works.  I have also noticed that in the Task Manager, there are two processes with the name of the image of windows.exe and consuming all the power and memory has no user name.  When I try to end the process on this one it still won't let me and a message appears saying that I don't have permission to do this, or something to that effect.  I am however able to stop other processes including the windows.exe with my username process.  The cases where it allows me to stop the process, performance improves, but given a little time, again with nothing running, it starts again. Thinking it was a virus, I missed the live update on Norton and performed a full scan, but nothing found.   I also tried Windows defender, but in vain.  Any help on this problem is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

From what I found, Windows.exe is likely malware:

  • NT kernel and system cpu consumption

Here's the problem I have and what I know so far.

NT kernel and the system is taking up not less than 25% of the CPU and everything. "Using process Explorer, I discovered the responsible thread: ntoskrnl.exe! KeAcquireInStackQueuedSpinLockAtDcpLevel + 0x1e0

I tried to suspend, by killing, and always watching permission and he said the same thing: can't access the thread.

so far, I took to be a pilot for the "folder lock" new software. I have never installed this program well and have no way to find. So I downloaded the windows driver kit, because this way I can look at the data and I hope at least limit, then google the drivers I think maybe it is.

However, the problem is that when I try to install, it says that the documents microsoft Explorer could not install and then it completely "to roll back' as he says, his installation. No matter how many times I try, it does. The two files SAY they should be able to be installed, but they are not.

This is where I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help

I contacted the company as well, and one of its representatives offered to try to help, if she does not know the driver in question.

If you have drawn a Xerf or WPR link please / them wherever you land.
