  • Why are my favorites are rearranged, out of folders and other deleted every day?

My Favorites of FF are destroyed every day! I had carefully organized them in subfolders, but every day (or more) they are not ordained, some bookmarks left records and many have completely lost. I have not installed the new plug-ins, and the only event any was that I have synced with a new Linux Mint installed on my laptop, but I did not start this laptop for days and continues to, even "if I continue to restore from a recognized reliable backup. If anyone has any ideas please?

These issues can be caused by Sync, so if you use Sync and then better is to disconnect Sync at the moment.

  • iMac crashing every day, why?

Quite frustrated as to why my iMac (early 2009) crashes all day, sometimes twice a day. Here are the technical details:

    Using OS X vs 10.8.5

Processor - 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 duo

    Memory - 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 512 MB

I read that the upgrade of the OS would be useful, but I use Adobe PS CS5 daily and can't afford to risk having problems help

This software. I can't afford (financially) to buy a new computer at the moment and would prefer not to use cloud software.

In addition, bearing in mind that it might be a problem of memory, when I use PS or Firefox, I try not to use both

at the same time, but even that is not serious. And it seems to happen when you use the program, not one or the other.

Maybe I should stop using Firefox for a while and go to Safari? Maybe this would help?

Finally, is it possible just to upgrade to a newer version (compatible w / PS CS5) without having to go to El Capitan?

    Any suggestions out there?

  • Almost every day, I leave Firefox open for a number of hours to find it closed on its own during my absence. Why?

Today, it was a typical day. I was on my laptop Dell electronic control around 16:00 I left the computer connected and powered with Firefox 8.0 still running. When I came back to my computer laptop about 07:20, I found that Firefox had closed on its own. No sign of a crash. It was simply closed. While not a huge problem, I don't like having to restart Firefox. Other applications continue to run when not in service. Why not Firefox? Or y at - it a setting I can use to prevent this from happening? Either way, this happens every day without exception.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

  • Why Software Distribution 3.0 appears on my Microsoft (restore point) system restore almost every day?

original title: software distribution service 3.0

Why Software Distribution 3.0 appears on my Microsoft (restore point) system restore almost every day?  What is it?

The Software Distribution Service 3.0 Restore Point is created when new Microsoft updates are downloaded and installed.

Depending on the configuration of your system, the updates can be downloaded and installed automatically as we never see what is happening.

For example (this is what I usually see), if you use Microsoft Security Essentials and an update of MSE comes out every day, you can't "see" anything on your system to tell you about this, but when the ESM update is installed, a new called Restore Point "Software Distribution Service 3.0" will be created. "

If MSE gets several updates per day, you will see a new PR of 3.0 SDS created for each of them, so it would be possible to have several SDS 3.0 Restore Points per day.  Alternatively, you can have one for MSE and another for some other day.  Some days you won't see any SDS 3.0 created restore points.

Of course, there are other reasons, you might see a new SDS 3.0 Restore Point and you might be curious to know what is all just never one see you.

Among the technical support engineers Microsoft will surely be able to tell how to look at each new SDS 3.0 Restore Point you have and tell you how to determine exactly what was in this update of the Software Distribution (if you're curious).

The reason in question do not contain the required information may be because there is no incentive to enter the required information when you create a new question.

The odds on this planet someone reading "How to ask a question" before asking a question are extremely unlikely, therefore (if the forums wanted more useful), the forums Microsoft Answers would invite for information, when a new question is asked.

Even the discussion in the article "How to ask a question" is quite ridiculous that it does not describe the same basic information that should be in a new topic.

This gross oversight in the way the new positions are created in these forums in frustration results, guess, lost time and wasted cycles then message that this information is being collected.

  • Why the same numbers are used every day for 4 updates

Whenever I have shut down my computer, I get a message saying that 4 updates are being installed.  I checked my updates and they are the same 4 updates every day.  What gives?

    Here are a few ideas:

Audit of the newspaper is not a bad idea. but it is likely that the update log has been accumulated since XP was installed, is probably quite large, overwhelming and intimidating to see.

I can assure you about that nobody wants to watch a huge log file with a bunch of junk in it.

You might stop the Automatic Update Service, rename or delete the log and restart the Service to get a new connection, but even when there is 'nothing to do', the journal is full of junk that is difficult to interpret.

Since updates .NET Framework are connected and these updates are well known for installation problems, an option is to clear the log, just choose an update - say KB982168 and try to install it manually and then you can watch what is happening, and if you have disabled your front update log file It can be easier to spot the problem.

There is little help that particular article KB, but sometimes the .net Framework updates are particularly bothersome - perhaps other previously botched updates, malware, or other reasons.

The best thing to do when fail it these sorts of updates of .NET Framework (minimizing the frustration) is often just uninstall all the stuff of the .NET Framework and install everything again from scratch (after checking that there is no malicious software on the system).

We know absolutely zero about this system because the MS Answers forums does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked.  Well, we actually know a little bit of things - it's a computer.  Do not know information difficult troubleshooting.

Hear me, people of MS Answers?

If you check the links in the article of Microsoft KB for some other updates, like KB979909, you can read that Microsoft has free help and support for these and all security updates - and sometimes, they are actually quite helpful and responsive.

There are several support options, including a toll free number for especially by using the security updates that fail to install.

  • Why does VSSVC.exe run every day?

Out & about once every few days VSSVC.exe & TrustedInstaller.exe will start running. It usually takes only 30-50% of my CPU unless I'm doing something else at the same time. As a result, I find generally that, under 'System Restore', a new restore point has been created. I also found what is VSSVC.exe & that this probably meant that my computer had a 'system' update & so was do a restore point for that. I'm assuming that "System updates" are different from "Windows Updates" since I was those value only notify & never automatically download or install. In addition, I did have a "Windows Update" in a few days which also proves that it is something different. A few minutes ago VSSVC.exe started running again with TrustedInstaller.exe & took a few minutes to finish as usual. However, while they inspected "System Restore" I found that the last created restore point was about 3 days ago, even though these two process turned a few minutes ago. So now, I have a few questions I need to answer.

1: What are the "system updates"?

2: If in fact they are the same that "Windows Updates" that are normally downloaded & installed, why am I not notified of them in advance?

3: can I plan "system updates"?

4: can I plan when the System Restore Points that are created from VSSVC.exe?

5: If all my current assumptions are bad, what in fact is happening really?

On a final note, I should mention that I have indeed update my Microsoft Security Essentials every day. Although VSSVC.exe is not following this model is why this whole situation left me speechless. I perform analyses of viruses once a week who are always clean, apart from the question I mentioned that my computer runs great.

As mentioned it is part of the snapshot service that is used by restoring the system as well as protection of system files and the "previous file" feature.

Restore points are created automatically when changes to the system.

    Hello Robin,.

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community forum. I understand that you want to monitor on behalf of your children. By chance, there is a possibility that children know your email address and password. What we suggest is to change your password and see if the problem will be solved or not.

If the problem persists, we need some information from you for more isolation.

    • How to set parental controls?
    • Are on behalf of those children implemented as Standard user or administrator?
    • When you say the name of the computer, it is your computer or your children?
    • In what specific steps you receive the error message?

We look forward to hear from you.
