Home page is hijacked

Mozilla Firefox is my best browser. I love surfing on Firefox, but since a few days I have a problem with it. When I opened my firefox, I'm automatically redirected to http://search.sidecubes.com/?st=pr & q = , but my home page is set to google. I don't know why this is happening, I don't have any unwanted addon and plugins and I also don't have any unwanted software in my pc. I also checked into Mozilla firefox > properties > Shortcut tab > target, but he is also set to "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" I don't know why this is happening, Mozilla should add a modules integrated to the popups that try to install software and malware that infects the pc and change the home page in the next update. Please help with my problem of home page.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, please try to work through the delete SideCubes search (Virus Removal Guide) by the advice of Malware.

Note that not all programs removal allows to detect all malware, you may need to run multiple or all of them.

After the removal you may need to reset your homepage, search etc, what you can do by running the add-on SearchReset.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • Love Mozilla, but my firefox home page is hijacked by Web-Safe, superior-research, research-Global, how to remove?

I tried several times to get rid of this = Web-Safe, superior-research, research-Global, which is taking over my beloved Firefox homepage. I also use Thunderbird as my email service. When I zap it with Malwarebytes, it disappears, but returns when I have to restart the computer. Refresing the Firefox homepage also has same result. Help? Make sure you only change your home page you want to be set in the menu options. If your labels are also automatically opening on this site, then you will have to go to "about.config" in your address bar, type "newtab" in the search bar in the configuration page, double-click on "newtab.url" and change it to Subject: Home

  • yesterday, October 5, 2015, I installed the latest version of firefox which does not allow me to open a new tab as my home page - how can I fix?

In previous versions of firefox, I could use about: config to make the new tab opened as my home page. the latest version of firefox doesn't seem to allow this. I find it very frustrating that all the search engines seem to want to dictate what I see when I Browse. I wish to install the new version of firefox

In Firefox pref browser.newtab.url 41 disappeared. This pref has been hijacked by malware so frequently while Mozilla has decided to remove this pref to eliminate this kind of diversion.
You will need an extension like this one to restore.

Or to have your home page as the new tab page, try this extension.

If you're using Classic theme restaurant, go to the options of CTR > general UI (2) and set your preference for the new tab URL there.

  • When I open firefox, it does not start on my home page, but on a search page, I never intentionally downloaded and uninstalled from my computer. Why?

Today, I had a lot of trouble with my computer. I think that he was attacked by something underhanded, but I managed to stop it and fix everything. Everything about this thing.

When I open the firefox browser, it will not automatically to my home page, despite having followed all the instructions to do this. Instead, it opens in an engine search called 'awesomehp' that, previously, never heard and never installed. When I click on the 'home' - button, it goes to my real home page, and everything is ok.

I tried to uninstall it... "awesomehp" engine of research, but it ALWAYS appears automatically when I open FireFox. Why? And this is even after I have reset FireFox settings by default once.

Why this happens, and what can I do about it?

  • This site has been reported as dangerous go to my home page instead

This arose on a legitimate and popular Web site.  so far, he has not appeared on other sites, what I understand would indicate that my computer is infected.  I click on go to the home page because I thought that this could be dangerous.  (right)? being given that I closed the window without clicking anything whatsoever, is this the end of it?  can I safely visit this site again and just close the window if it happens again?

I guess I should add that I tried to find the answer to this question for two hours.  I keep getting answers that relate to already be infected, and I don't think that this is the case; I did a full scan with MSE.  other responses focus on dangerous Web sites and is not the case.  I tried to find out if the site had been hijacked and found nothing to indicate a general problem.

If it is relevant, I'm on a public wifi, which, knock wood, has never caused any problems.

I hope that's not stupid.  Thank you.

    Hey carbunkle,.

Which is logical. And I don't have a direct response. Make your own judgment, there is popup ad which seem to come from Internet Explorer, but are not, and those I would say don't not clicking on, but if you can tell the difference between a true guest and an a popup, then you can trust official guests.
I am pleased to hear that the issue has not yet reached. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
