  I updated Firefox to worm. 40.0 and now my laptop, which is a HP with Windows 7, has all sorts of problems. I use Yahoo as my homepage, and it will not hold my homepage.   How did you check for malware? It certainly seems malware-ish. Here's my method to track down and clean the bad Add - ons and other hijackers. I know it seems long, but it's not so bad.

  (3) check an optional parameters file called user.js in your profile (personal settings folder) folder. Firefox uses the settings in this file at startup to override your preferences since the previous session. Unless you have created this file, it may contains settings of an add-on or external software.   If you find a file named user but not user.js, Windows can hide the extensions of file on your part. To work with files as accurately as possible, I suggest showing all file extensions.   (4) you can search the rest of problems with scanning/cleaning tools listed in our technical support article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware. These scanners on request are free and take a long time to run. If they end quickly, especially if they require the payment you have a serious infection. I suggest the specialty forums listed in the article in this case.

• 5.6.1 pages will not save or export

  System: Pages 5.6.1 El Capitan 10.11.4 & iMac 21.5 mid-2011

  I can't save a file without a title with the same error message - I'm moving this to "Rename" file and then saving it, that seems to work. But, I can't export to a Word of any file doc - in fact, cannot export PDFS or anything like that - get the same error

  The rest of us who have no problem making an initial backup and name the document before starting to write the content. This initial backup is the only way that Pages will start his automatic backup and the ability to come back from past editing sessions. If there was a breakdown of current, OS X or crash of Pages before saving it in the first place, you'd be furious that time lost having to rewrite your document from scratch. There is no backup of it.

  The previous paragraph would avoid renaming and would also solve your ability to export to other document formats. Untitled is the kiss of death.

• Why my page will not save as a template?

  I want to just make sure that you deploy these files correctly.  Here's how a child of a nested template page:

  1. Create an HTML page and use FILE | Save as a template.
  2. Add editable regions to this template file you just saved and save again with FILE | Record.
  3. A child from this model mate with FILE | New model...
  4. Save this page to the child as a model nested with FILE | Save as template
  5. Add regions editable to the left of the boxes since the 1st generation model and re-record with FILE | Record.
  6. A child of this 2nd generation model mate with FILE | New from template

  You have now the child of the last model and the granddaughter of the first model.  In this file, you will be able to change the editable regions you inserted in step 5 or who have been inserted for you to step 5 and all the editable regions UNMODIFIED left from the model of grandparent.  As I said, models nested are not for the faint hearted...

Once again, back to where it was, opening, as if I just downloaded this browser. My one complaint is that I've looked everywhere to try to find this same problem and it does not. Is true, I am the only one having this weird problem?

  Not really a workaround solution, but a better way, that I always use:

  Select all in a complete document,

  then in preview-> file-> print select the PDF icon at the bottom left, click the arrow and select "Save as PDF".

• Settings of the mouse from Logitech G5 will not save.

  I have Win 7 Prof X 64. I worked with Logitech support now for almost 3 months on why my setting of the G5 mouse will not save after a reboot. They had load me 5 different versions of the set point and to make all systems that they thought the change. They even sent me a new mouse G500, which has the same problem. After a reboot, I have to open the set point and close it, make no changes, and all my settings to start working. Set point is in my Start menu & KHALMNPR file is set to no load.

  I have loaded the same software on my laptop, Win 7 Home Premium, and it works fine. It tells me that there must be a setting in Windows 7. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you

  Step 1: Try changing the setting in safe mode, and then restart your computer in safe mode again to check if the setting is saved.
