How a DVR created in a functional global called by main vi and vi dynamic store its data?

Thomas_robertson wrote:

Ah... OK, in this case, the post that I made just before yours on an entity that receives requests for creation of DVR and meets with them through messages is an implementation of what the author suggested, correct?

Yes, that might work. Although at this stage, it would be just as easy to create for EVN in the actor, but store them in the FGV, to minimize how much you need to rearchitect. Then, you don't need to send a message to retrieve them, simply create them. Given that the actor has the life and runs constantly (even if he sleeps most of the time so not to consume any time of treatment), references will continue to be valid.

    I can't find the option to detach the navigation under the disciplines of the main navigation. Can someone tell me how I should create this possibility so that the sub navigation will be generated automatically, but detached from the main navigation?

    See you soon,.

    Unfortunately two unique sets of generated navigation automatically is not possible currently. An alternative is to create your navigation bar with a menu manual, low browsing with a menu widget, and then disable the top-level pages appear in the menus (on the preferences page, or by right-clicking on a page in outline view). Since there are more pages in the navigation at the bottom, this could at least save time by keeping only the automatically generated value.

  • How do I create multitrack when on Skype calls?

    I use hearing as the primary recording for my podcast software. When I have guests I use Skype to call. In the current set up, audio of everyone is on the same track. How can I put my audio on a track and Skype on another recording?

    Microsoft/Skype deprecated and removed a large part of their old SDK allowing applications easily analyze the various participants in a call and save them as separate stream.  Unfortunately, hearing will not be able to perform this task for you at this time.  There are third-party applications that are supposed to do, but I would recommend their research very carefully before buying anything as there seems to be a lot of suspicious or inactive there applications as well.

    One way many podcasts to solve this problem is to use Skype or Google Hangouts to facilitate the global conversation, but each participant makes a local record of their side of the conversation.  This separates the tracks well enough, but it guarantees that all tracks are of much better quality than a typical Skype call.  There may be problems with the drift of the clock, when sync starts to drag, but this can be corrected.

  • How can I create a record list or global signal system

    Forgive me, but I've been away from LabVIEW for awhile. I worked in the field of LabWindows (99% of our work) for the past five years with some sprinkled in LabVIEW. I was responsible for designing a replacement for an existing test unit at another plant in our society with a main requirement being that LabVIEW is the development environment.

    We have two architectures 'C' standard very strong that we try to use them as a reference point on the majority of our work. I would like to try to implement one of these architectures in LabVIEW but I find this part, and really a fundamental part of this architecture is not translated very well. The centerpieces of this architecture are looking for overall signal structures and a record of overall system. The research of signal structure is a complete list of signals in the system test with information scalar and offset. Registering system stores the current raw value for the each of these signals. See the examples below:

    typedef struct SignalType

    {

    int globalIndex;

    Double voltsPerEngUnit;

    Double voltageOffset;

    Char [SIGNAL_NAME_LENGTH] signalName;

    } SignalType;

    struct SignalLookup

    {

    SignalType sigTable [MAX_SIGNALS];

    SignalType * hardwareOutSpare100;

    SignalType * hardwareOutSpare99;

    SignalType * hardwareOutSpare98;

    ...

    SignalType * hardwareInSpare100;

    SignalType * hardwareInSpare99;

    SignalType * hardwareInSpare98;

    ...

    SignalType * time;

    SignalType * dutyTime;

    SignalType * frameTime.

    SignalType * isrCounter;

    SignalType * softwareOutSpare96;

    ...

    SignalType * graphPlot1;

    SignalType * graphPlot2;

    SignalType * graphPlot3;

    SignalType * graphGo;

    SignalType * graphDomainMin;

    SignalType * graphDomainMax;

    SignalType * graphRangeMin;

    SignalType * graphRangeMax;

    SignalType * softwareInSpare91;

    ...

    } signalLookup;

    Initialization functions:

    void SignalTypeInit (SignalType * s, global int, char * name, scalar double, double offset)

    {

    s-> globalIndex = global;

    s-> scalar = voltsPerEngUnit;

    s-> voltageOffset = shift;

    strcpy (s-> signalName, name);

    }

    Sub SignalLookupInit()

    {

    Release of material

    signalLookup.hardwareOutSpare100 = & signalLookup.sigTable [0];

    SignalTypeInit (signalLookup.hardwareOutSpare100, 0, "hardwareOutSpare100", 1.0000, 0.0000);

    signalLookup.hardwareOutSpare99 = & signalLookup.sigTable [1];

    SignalTypeInit (signalLookup.hardwareOutSpare99, 1, "hardwareOutSpare99", 1.0000, 0.0000);

    signalLookup.hardwareOutSpare98 = & signalLookup.sigTable [2];

    SignalTypeInit (signalLookup.hardwareOutSpare98, 2, "hardwareOutSpare98", 1.0000, 0.0000);

    ...

    }

    typedef struct SystemRecord

    {

    Double sigTable [MAX_SIGNALS];

    } SystemRecord;

    How can I translate these structures to LabVIEW when LabVIEW with global structures and tables in large n - n in LabVIEW? I am open to any criticism and help I can get.

    Regards-

    John OC

    I'm not C code too closely, but it is seems to me that you basically have a bunch of definitions of named (structs) signal that you want to get the data by name.

    Personally, I would add that all additional necessary data in there (like hardware address and the actual current value) and use a class or library to encapsulate all this in an easy to use API.

    You can create the base functionality by the presence of a data value references lookup table (DVRs, which are a bit (just a bit!) similar to pointers, so that they point to specific data) that will each point to a single cluster (or object). Once you get the DVR to the cluster (or object), you use the structure in place to get the data inside the RECORDER and the specific operation you want (for example, set up the initial configuration or reading calibrate the current value of the signal) on these data.

    For research, I would recommend a simple VI with a variant in a shift register. The shift register allows to ensure that the data between tracks of VI and use you the primitives of attribute ranging from keep the EVN - if an attribute with the current name does not exist in the variant, you create a new and write it in the Variant. Each attribute includes a digital video recorder, which is what you are exporting.

    Thus, for every VI in your API (Init, current value of reading, etc.), you give the name as input and start calling the VI search to get the DVR. Then, you use the DVR to operate on this specific signal.

    If all this seems too complicated, you can try to go with something like this - http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5326

  • How to create a sentry function

    Hi all

    I want to build a custom authentication scheme that combines a custom authentication and SSO functionality.

    1. If the REMOTE_USER Variable HTTP header is set, this user must be a valid user. (Single Sign On feature)

    2. If the HTTP header Variable is not set, the LOGIN Page should appear. (local user Administration)

    3. the combination user/passowrd of the login page must be validated by my own authentication

    I think I need to create a sentry function, which is a combination of the Sentinel-functions that are used in the projects 'tailor-made' and 'HTTP header Variable.

    I tried to find an implementation of these functions in the diagram APEX_040200 database, but without success.

    @APEX-team: can you provide the implementation of these functions-Sentinel or at least documentation.

    @all: is there anyone who have implemented a similar authentication model.

    Thank you

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

    a sentry function sets whether the application should be allowed to deal with, because the session is ok. Since the 4.1, we have a function additional Invalid session which runs if the Sentinel returns false, before redirecting to the login page. A callback function can be used to continue the treatment when the login page is external. It runs when the external login is successful and redirects to the APEX. Authentication is used in combination with internal login pages to verify that the credentials of the user (username / password) are ok. If it returns true, the session is updated with the username. Otherwise, the login page must present again, with an error message. The poster disconnection feature runs after the user has disconnected. It is sometimes useful for the cleaning of data for the session or twist the redirection.

    In your case, the sentry function is probably not necessary. By default already checks if corresponding to the session id and session cookies, this should be enough. If you try to implement single sign-out, a sentry could check if the session is already authenticated, but the REMOTE_USER will be void. Invalid session function is called when the Sentinel (you're a custom or default) fails. If REMOTE_USER is not null, it can simply call APEX_AUTHENTICATION. POST_LOGIN to save the value of the header under the username, instead of making the normal redirection to the login page. It authenticates the user without checking with authentication credentials. The callback function is not necessary in your case. The authentication function is called when the user connects using the login page for the application (101). It can check the name of user and password for cases where $remote_user@-part is null.

    This can be implemented either as a plugin for authentication with the custom authentication scheme. The former is to be preferred to the production code, the latter is sometimes useful for prototyping. The texts point help plugin and authentication for the various functions include example code. If they are not enough, just respond here and I will try to come up with more concrete examples.

    Kind regards
    Christian

  • Functional global variables with polymorphic VI

    Hello

    I am keen to build a functional global variable in a polymorphic VI. So, for example in a functional global variable, we have case structure. I want to build separate VI for the structure of the case and make a polymorphic VI.

    Is it possible that I could use a polymorphic VI rather than business structures?

    Thank you!

    You could create a polymorphic VI that serves as a wrapper for the FGV.  The idea is that each instance of the polymorphic VI called FGV with selected appropriate case-sensitive.  Then your API is the polymorphic VI instead of FGV.
