How can blackBerry smartphones, I display a NEW screen when I receive a text?

Hello world... I just got my blackberry curve today and I was wondering one thing: is it possible to make the phone set up a new screen (as do most other phones) when I get a new text message? good now it vibrates or makes a noise, but keeps my background, which is inconvenient because it is harder to know if I have a text or not.

I would like to know if it is possible to change this! Thank you.

Cool

    In addition the RadixBase property, there is no available on RadixNumericTextBox member to customize the display of the formatted value. However, you can override the FormatValue method to provide a custom formatting logic:

    public class CustomRadixNumericTextBox : RadixNumericTextBoxInt32 {
            protected override string FormatValue( int value ) {
                string formatted = base.FormatValue( value );
                return formatted.PadLeft( 8, '0' );
            }
        }

    If you can do none of this, and you don't remember the BlackBerryID password or secret answer to the question, you're stuck.
    Your choice is:
    -Use a different e-mail account to create a new BlackBerryID (with which you will lose access to all apps purchased using the 'forgotten' first BlackBerryID, or)
    -Find the initial email you have been sent to confirm the initial BlackBerryID and there are a link to click to cancel and delete the account. Click on this, delete the account and then you can use that same e-mail to create a new account.
    Good luck.

  • How can blackBerry smartphones, I change the sound signal in BBM

    I just got a 8520 only native of the United Kingdom.  I can't understand how to change the sound signal for BBM.  My daughter has the same phone, but the menus are different from mine.  Can someone guide me through this process?

    Drop down menu using the speaker on your homescreen icon and choose "Set Ring Tones/alerts. Inside the new screen, you should see a repeating field, called "Instant Messages". Expand it and you will have access to options for Blackberry Messenger. There must be 3 total.

    Selecting one of the three will allow you to customize the BBM options. I suggest you change all three for the same parameters.

  • How can blackBerry smartphones, I download my phonebook from one phone to another

    I change service providers to one that has the local technical support but horrible coverage (Sprint) to that which do not have local support or provide you with a phone. Sprint uses no SIM card. I use a 9330 with Sprint and received a 8310 old until I can afford to buy a new phone. I want to download my phonebook to my 9330 on my 8310. Does anyone know how to do this? I have the Blackberry Desktop Software on my PC, but it treats each phone separately, and I don't see where is my phone book.

    There is no copy paste. You need to connect the old phone and choose Save.
    You can choose to only back up your contacts.
    You now have them all safely stored.
    When you receive your new phone, you can plug it in and it will ask you if you want to restore a profile. Say Yes and restore the saved. Easy.

    When I got the curve red LED would flash after a call was received and continue to Flash until I recognized it - "BOLD" is not, it seems if stop after the call ends. How can I make continue to Flash until I not noticed?

    But to do do, press your green dial key to enter the call log, then Menu > Call Logging = and select all or lack, according to your desire.

    Then, the red LED will Flash for about 15 minutes after a missed call.

  • How can BlackBerry Smartphones improved 9700 to 9900 - I move my apps for the new phone?

    I just switched carriers and got a new phone. I had several applications on the old phone, among free apps that I recently downloaded. When I connect to the blackberry app world with on my new phone connected, I see apps in 'my world '. When I connect the new phone, they all disappear. I got the blackberry app world could move the apps on my new phone, but it seems to be now way to do. It's like the old 'my world' disappears when I connect the new phone. I would have thought if they were not compatible with the new operating system that they show at least as being waiting for upgrade or something. Am I missing something?

    Most applications will be compatible.

    On the new device, go to AppWorld > MyWorld.

    Press the Menu button > refresh.

    You should see all your old apps in the list "uninstalled". Click at the top of the screen to pull down the uninstalled.

  • How can blackBerry smartphones, I use my e-mail installation

    I am a new Blackberry user, and some new technology age, hard to understand.  I have now posted 3 questions on this forum and was very pleased with the help I received.

    My 4th question is this:

    I have now updated the phone to my ISP (Orange) and I now have a "Orange World" browser that gives me access to the internet and with this I have no problem.

    From the same source I have a facility of email also and would appreciate your help.

    I have 2 email addresses are @demon.co.uk and the other is @virgin.net.  I don't want any more.  When I'm away from home, I would like to be able to redirect My incoming emails to my Blackberry and respond to them by Blackberry, but when I return home receive them on my desk as usual.

    Is this possible and if yes, how I have set up?

    Thank you for your help - all sorted.

    I managed to configure it using the computer pocket and today access to my emails on Blackberry & office.  Really easy to use. Cordially oldwulf

  • How can blackBerry smartphones, I get rid of the BBM Spam?

    My phone fills up with spam BBmessages - all junk characters / illegible / foreigners. He went quiet for a whil

    e but I had over 500 so far this one afternoon. I deleted the Messenger, but they appear right on my screen. I changed my blackberry ID and associated e-mail; I deleted my emails and email clients and turned off wifi, but messages still appear - 8 another while I was typing this!

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks for that - I didn't know what the PIN was or what pin messages are; I don't know what is my PIN NUMBER and how these people could get my PIN - I bought the phone again and have never used this facility. They are all spam that many seem to be Arabic script or Hindi (?) and just some random letters & numbers.

    However, your comment gave me an idea, and now I've found my pin code (Options / status) and learned what pin are messages. Now, I blocked the incoming Pin messages (Options / security / firewall) and it seems to work (12 blocked during the shipment that!).

    I hope this helps others with the same problem, if I still have no idea how they got my pin code.

  • How can BlackBerry Smartphones GPS on 8310 I get the card?

    Can someone please tell me how to get the cards and use them on my 8310 as a gps travel card. I use very often and that you don't really want to pay for them.

    I saw a discussion on free google maps.

    Help, please

    Ash

    Hi and welcome to the forums!

    Google maps is a free application that uses the GPS and triangulation via cell towers. If your GPS is enabled it can be very accurate. If your gps does not find a satellite, Gmaps will be triangulate your position within 3,000 metres.

    The cards are excellent, provide traffic, both in turn. Satellite image shows as well.  Allows to search for the company and displays the phone number and address. You can click on the number to call.

    Again, it is free, so you can lower the load and try it.

  • How can blackBerry smartphones, I get rid of this sign of the world?

    I had this sign in the world and number one and more on the main screen, I don't know how it got there! can anyone help to get rid of it?

    If I have the right to mind, which is a browser notification.  You can disable it by going to your main message folder, then press the BB Menu key and do scroll to the display folder, select it, then take a look in your WAP Push Messages folder.  You should find the message where you can delete it then.

    Note that if you have the main folder of Messages on your phone, go to the home screen, press the BB Menu key and select Show all in the options.  Then you should be able to find your Messages folder.

    I hope that helps!

  • How can blackBerry smartphones, I silence my lamp?

    I'm new to BlackBerry, and already, I'm stumped. I'm putting my phone vibrate or silent in order to avoid interruping sessions. I follow the instructions in the manual to the letter and it still rings, while at the bottom of the screen, it says "ringer off"! One thing I've noticed is after that I hit 'sound and alert profiles' and navigate to "Vibrate only", there is a check mark next to 'normal '. So how do you convince this phone to go silent on request?

    spikowski wrote:

    On my earlier phones, you would set the phone in "vibrate" without changing the profile - temporarily 'vibrate' outweigh profile specifications. Here, "vibrate" seems to be a separate profile.

    Oh, a shortcut... Press and hold the Q key to alternate between your profile to the profile vibrator... and vice versa.
