How can I add a password that I told firefox to forget

How can I add a password that I told firefox to forget. I can't 'change my mind' for some websites that I decided to add to the passwords.

Some sites like PayPal, Yahoo, Windows Live, and bank sites use autocomplete = "off" to prevent Firefox to save and fill in the name and the password.

If a site uses autocomplete = "off" then look at this article for a bookmarklet to remove the attribute autocomplete and Firefox will provide store name and password.

You don't have to log in to Firefox. Firefox is just a browser, such as Internet Explorer. Everything you have to do is double-click it and open it. It's like Internet Explorer. If you have some sort of password extension protecting your Firefox, it's different and you need to contact the developer of the extension.

  • Firefox has stopped to remember a password and now I can't retrieve the password. How can I access the passwords that Firefox remembered for me?

I have two youtube accounts, but Firefox has stopped reminding the password on one of them. Unfortunately I remember is no longer the password, like Firefox still remembered up to now. How can I access the password in Firefox, or is that not possible?

Try the menu Tools, Options and then on the Security tab.

Look for the "Passwords" section. From there, you should be able to see or manage stored passwords.

  • How can I store the passwords that have been deleted

I had the usernames and passwords stored for multiple accounts of e-mail on the same site. These have been accidentally deleted from the list of saved passwords, and now I can't get Firefox (23.0) to remember once again. I have no password check enabled (behind a master password), and this site does not appear on the list of "exceptions." In the password management utility, there is no facility to add new passwords, not to remove them. It seems, once removed, Firefox assumes one will never want to save this site again.

I'm in and out of these accounts literally dozens of times a day and now connect in the manual every time. How can I get Firefox saves these combinations of name of user and password for me again?

Yes. AutoComplete = off is a direction that web sites can give a browser to instruct them not to store the data that you enter in an input field. This can be search terms that you enter on a Web site like Google, but also the privacy and security of sensitive data such as a credit card number.

If you use the bookmarklet so you know what you are doing and give it a second thought.

If you use the extension that you don't notice that a Web site prefers that you do not to save this data.

With recording a password, you will need to confirm a prompt, but the other form data can be recalled if imperceptible autocomplete = off is removed.

  • How can I add a password to the list of saved password?

I know how to get to the list of saved password. I think it is not possible to add the password and site IDs. You only remove and remove all buttons. No Add button.

Maybe you would consider this for the next update.

    Thank you
    Richard

The Web site may use autocomplete = off to prevent Firefox to record the name and the password.

You can remove autocomplete = off with a bookmarklet to register the name and the password of Firefox.

Another company working on their network on the site. They use ShareCenter of Microsoft as a collaborative work environment and told me that I must add their domain names (... company.com) to my list of approved sites in Firefox to open the pages of their workplace.

Hello live2ski, "trusted sites" are a concept of internet explorer which does not exist in firefox in this form, so I'm not sure what their instructions could be referring to.

Because of the Microsoft policy about lost or forgotten passwords, there are few, we can say that it is, after all, a Microsoft supported forum.  However, Microsoft has graciously provided this direction for your problem:

I tried to launch an elevated command prompt and encounter this error message. I have my recovery key (it is more prompt me my password), but I can't manage Bitlocker as any change that I try to do through Control Panel or command prompt create this error message. Any suggestions short of reformatting the drive and the loss of almost 1 TB of data?

I found a solution. I chose a system restore point and somehow it solved the problem and allowed me to access manage BitLocker and create a new password. Not sure if it was because of configuration updates for Microsoft that have been installed or any other combination of changes, but it's good to know that there is a solution.
