  You can use the ODISQLUnload tool. This will extract all the data in a file with the format specified in the tool.
  -in fact, if there is a large volume, I would be tempted to use a bcp command to do so. This could be in a procedure. You could get the bcp command format and a few hints on how to make generic km here

  In the new version of the ID of one of the options in the package is to include a file .idml for users who have an earlier version. This would be added a .indd and the links folder. That said, a .idml of 1 GB file is beyond huge and indicates either a massive corruption, or all your images are incorporated instead of linked (which could be an explanation of why there is no record of links).

  My guess is that you are using iCloud photo library and if that is correct, then this is the way ICPL works and why it exists - it synchronizes the libraries on mulciple devices by keeping anyway - any changes made on any device is performed on all including additions, deletions, and modifications

  For devices with limited storage you put to use optimized photos keep the originals only on iCLoud photo library and any other device with large storage available
