  Try to open the problem files using a text editor or viewer of files to see what the first bytes contain. Contains all the binary files valid FM FM 11 in the first bytes of the file.

  Vista can display the file extension like any other Windows operating system. Go to control panel > Classic view > Folder Options > tab display uncheck the checkbox "Hide extensions of known file types". Apply/OK outside. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  Go in Edition > Preferences > Camera Raw (on a Mac: Photoshop > preferences > Camera Raw) and uncheck the box use Graphics Processor.
