  To change the length (duration) of a photo in iMovie 10.1.1 (latest version), select the photo in the timeline panel, and then click the Info button in the toolbar at the top of your screen.  It is one that has an 'i' with a circle around it.   On the right, you will see a box of duration.  Type in the length you want and press return on your keyboard.

  Another way is to expand the line of time slightly with the cursor located above the timeline and right next to the settings button.  Then, you can select the photo and drag his edge to extend.

  No matter how "long" the timeline is - you can use the + and - to zoom in and out. What is important is the CLIPS that you have added to the timeline, from the left. If your clips just go to the 15 second mark, you export your video, the exported clip will be only 15 seconds, depending on the media on the timeline - it does not export the "white" areas to the right of the last clip.   Unless sellers are explicitly including transfers of software license, you cannot continue to use the software without eventually getting into trouble. Adobe CS apps can be installed on multiple machines, but they cannot be activated on two. If the 'included' software has already been activated by the previous owner, you won't be able to use it.

  The inclusion of the high-end systems used on applications should be a red flag: avoid sellers.
