How can I configure Thunderbird to return showing me my list of emails after I deleted the one I read?
I'm migrating to another computer, which implies a new installation of Thunderbird, but I can't get the settings back the way they were. Currently when I deleted an email, it immediately jumps to show me a new email. Before, he would always go back and show me the list of emails awaiting my attention so I could pick for the next opening and in the trash without reading. Much, I prefer the old method but cannot find the magical setting. Can you help me?
Try this:
'Tools' > 'Options' > 'View' > 'Advanced' tab
or
'Icon menu' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'View' > 'Advanced' tab
Select: 'close window/tab fidgets of the message or delete '.
Click OK

I recently downloaded Thunderbird but when I send myself a test e-mail, I am never notified by Thunderbird unless I have manually pull the e-mail by pressing 'get mail '. How can I do warn me whenever an e-mail arrives my account? Thank you
I found the solution: go to settings account and for each account, change the "check for new messages never" to 1 minute. I think that the default has been set to 1o minutes but changing that fixed my problem.

How can I configure Thunderbird to several email addresses
I'm on Eudora 7 to manage 6 on a Windows XP SP3 computer email accounts. I want to install Thunderbird on the same machine and import e-mail addresses. I have Setup Eudora to store the data files for each e-mail address in a different data directory. This allows me to have another icon on the desktop for each e-mail account. Click on an icon to start Eudora with the e-mail address data stored in a specific directory.
What I don't know, is how to make Thunderbird import the different e-mail addresses of Eudora in Thunderbird and how to separate individual e-mail address data in Thunderbird.
Any help would be appreciated.
To back up a little here. When you install Thunderbird it will import your Eudora mail and settings (both in regards to Thunderbird). So I suggest that you first import your mail (it does not Eudora) and see if it made a mess of your installation or not. I'm not punting.
You should end up with a folder in the pane of folders with Eudora and your structure of folders below that.
The main difference of Thunderbird to Eudora of Thunderbird do not detach attachments and store them somewhere else.
Note that I don't think the preference of Thunderbird to use the global Inbox was changed, so it is by default in the global inbox for multiple POP email accounts Menu (Alt + T) tools > account settings > server settings > button Advanced is where the parameter disable the use of the global Inbox by account is hidden.

I use OS 10.9.2 on a Macbook Pro with Thunderbird 24.4.0. Unfortunately, it opens with "Local folder" and I can't change that. My previous Thunderbird version 3.1.20 would always open to the last mailbox I was using.
I transferred my old computer profile and everything seems to work very well
I set the preferences in the same way that I did it with the version 3.2.10, but no matter what I do, it always ends up opening to local folders.
Any suggestions?
Thank you
Allen

How can I configure Thunderbird opens automatically when the computer is turned on
Use Thunderbird 38.0 Beta and try to set the program to start automatically when my computer is turned on without success.
The biggest problem is Thunderbird boot tends to be of the I/o intensive, and therefore Windows startup. Add to the incredible run antivirus software and you have a recipe for much longer boot time of Windows (non-linear). The typical question, most users encounter in this situation is Thunderbird delay and giving warnings of Script is unresponsive.

How can I configure Thunderbird to search for addresses in my personal address book only?
I created several address lists to store the addresses of the different groups. I also placed these addresses that I use most often in my personal address book. When you select OPTIONS in the TOOLS section of my address book, on the COMPOSITION, ADDRESS tab I see the box to select "when addressing messages, look for corresponding entries: local address books." It would be so useful and such a time saving in order to have the additional option of my personal address book only.
Thank you all in advance for the great thoughts, tips and tricks.I use this add-on:

stretching the parameters dialog of account to include a set of checkboxes to associate address specified in each e-mail account books.
Note the new button at the bottom right of the picture.

I'm willing to click a column like 'From' and then click on a letter, for example "S" to not see emails which the name starts with the letter 's'. You can do this in Outlook, and I was wondering if possible in Thunderbird? Then only a short e-mail list will appear of all the people starting with the letter I hit to filter and sort further.
I have the correct settings, but it did not work. I type 's' and I get a long list of emails and no not the one where the sender has a name starting with a S.
Please notify.

How can I configure my Mozilla Thunderbird to me for new confirmed before leaving?
I used to use Microsoft outlook. In outlook, we use the button 'close' at the top right of a mail to close this letter.
In thunderbird, this 'x' is available on the top somewhere in the middle. To close a mail, I click on the upper right corner by mistake and the release of Thunderbird (which I didn't) by mistake.
How can I configure my Mozilla Thunderbird to me for new confirmed before leaving?
As far as I can see there is no easy way to do this. However, an easy option is to have the Thunderbird in the system tray on hitting the close instead of closing button. The add-on "Minimize on start and close" for Thunderbird accomplishes this mission and to close all what you need to do is right-click on the icon in the taskbar, and then click close to close actually it. I hope this helps.

I used LapLink do to migrate all my files from my computer Windows 7 on my computer Windows 10 Thunderbird. first of all, I tried installing, but not running, Thunderbird before migration and all the mail at the time of migration could be found, and all the settings are the same on both computers. Unfortunately, trying to get the mail does not return messages and doesn't give any errors. So I tried to uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird (post migration) and got the same results. How can I get Thunderbird to get new messages on the server?

How can I configure my computer to the simple click with the mouse to double-click to open an item on the desktop instead
Hi placebow,
Open the Options folder by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, and then clicking Folder Options. On the general tab, click single-click to open an item. (To return to the standard click, click double-click to open an item.)
The setting applies not only at the office, but also in other areas of the shell.
