How can I fix my iPod mini, who sounds like he's under water?

I was looking for answers to this question and to this day the only one I found said, "have been a technician. It is not repairable"- Anonymous87, which I can't believe. If Apple can not understand this question been asked directly to Apple in 2007 and the iPod was sent to an Apple technician to repair, so I have a very dim view of ability of Apple to make a reliable camera and I'll think about 5 or 6 times before you buy another device from Apple.

The solution I found is to go to iTunes and him say to compress the files if they are not as compressed options. This changes iPod file compression, and then they play very well. Audio books, I do NOT get it fixed this way and I had to find another solution for them.

Someone at - it a genuine problem and solutions not only?

I think 5 or 6 times before you buy another device from Apple.

Oh, just "5 or 6 times"...?  Usually, I think that at least TEN times before you decide to NOT do something!

Seriously, this is the forum for discussion of Apple USERS.  Anything posted here is "solicited directly from Apple."  This is a discussion between forum users... Get answered some questions, some do not.  Some posts are useful, some are less useful, others are not yet true.  It's normal. This forum is NOT an official Apple technical support.

A mini iPod is more than ten years at this point.  Mine still works fine, except the battery weakens. I intend to replace the battery quickly.  Your mini iPod might have a hardware problem.  However, if the conversion of the files (load its compression ratio and format) play fine on the iPod, which suggests there is something wrong with (sometimes) your audio files.  They may have data corruption OR whether they are in an audio format that is not fully compatible with the technical design (hardware and software) of a 10 + years, mini iPod, while being readable on a computer more up-to-date (and forgiving) running the most recent (or recent) version of iTunes.

What is the audio format are the original files for songs (or audio books) who do not play properly?  Do a Get Info (on one of these elements) and on the file tab, look at type and bitrate.  These audiobooks purchased from the iTunes Store or imported into your iTunes library, another source?  What size are the audio files for audio books?  How long they are, in terms of playing time?  Some really large or long items have problems on an older iPod.

Did you do a restore on the mini iPod using iTunes?  This erases the iPod, reinstall its software and sets it to the default settings?  If there is alteration data on storage affecting audio files stored on the iPod or the embedded iPod software (and there is no hardware problem), do a restore should fix.  The restore button is on the settings screen for the summary of the iPod.

It says in your profile information, you use Windows XP.  What version of iTunes are you running?

As a test, add something new in your iTunes library that is standard AAC or MP3 format.  For example, you can import a music CD or download something from the iTunes Store, which is free, like an audio podcast episode.  These elements play correctly on the iPod?
