Problems installing Windows Vista on a p9x79 pro raid setup.
I'm trying to load Vista in raid0 on 2 WD 1 TB SATA 6 gb hd black
I have an asus p9x79 pro MB with the latest bios. 3.0.0.1184 OROM.
Samsung sata dvd drive
When Vista first starts loading he asks "a required cd/dvd drive device is missing. If you have a driver disk, cd, dvd or usb flash drive please insert it now.
I used the flash drive I created with the asus dvd provided with Mo and he installed the 'Inter c600 series chipset sata raid controller' allowed the installation to continue.
Then it asked for the product key, and then license, then type setup, where you want to install.
At this stage there is no disk to install to so I click on "drivers" and select the c600 Intel a new, but still no disks.
Here's the funny thing, when I try to load windows 7, it detects the disk in the screen "where you want to install" without having to load the c600 drivers again. He's right there. Win 7 loads fine if I skip the product key, but I know that won't last long.
I need vista loading because my win 7 is an upgrade.
I hope someone can help me with this.
Thank you. Bob

Problem installing Windows Vista Service Pack 1
Greetings,
I've been running Windows Vista for a while now. In general, I have no problem. I tried to install Service Pack 1 with a bit of luck.My first attempt was to install using Windows Update. When it installs it gives me error 0 x 80070490
My second attempt was to install it as a Sandalone by Windows.com. He also gave me an error
0 x 80070490I followed the instructions at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947366.
I tried all resolutions and nothing will work. Both times when I try to install it, the bar fills up all the way and then fails (no reboot or anything else) with in a few minutes. It restarts what only it either just fails or not. I tried using safe mode and normal Mode.
I tried to repair Windows to solve the problem. While the repair done, the computer has restarted and gave me the 'blue screen of death', the only way he could properly load was to load mode without failure. I had to wrap the last know configuration to start normally.
I'm running out of good ideas please help
Desperate, try: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

Hey SteveZea
you don't say if you used your laptop to join here or not
go to your site to manufacturers of portable computer with the computer that you use for here and find a download section
find the drivers for your laptop model number, download and save if you use another computer to get here
copy to flash drive, if you use another computer to do this and reinstall on your laptop
If the problem persists then contact the manufacturer of your laptop as their recovery process is not microsofts you have problems with

Satellite A200-23W: problem installing Windows Vista
Hello..
I now that this topic is discussed several times before, but after trying many solutions of the forum and some of my only, I reached a level that it makes no sense...
First off I would like to explain what I do for a living, it has to do with IT and that is what makes it even more tempting for me.
2 days ago a friend bought a Toshiba A200-23W. The first thing I always do when I buy a new laptop is to format it and install a clean Windows operating system.
After my first attempt, I realized that I have to install first the matrix storage driver.I downloaded the driver from toshiba place related to my model. (Intel Matrix Storage Manager - 7.5.0.1017).
I created a usb key with the required driver files:iaAhci.inf,
iaAhci.cat,
iaStor.inf, iaStor.cat,
iaStor.sys, and
TxtSetup.oemin the folder (F6flpy) of the (Intel Matrix Storage Manager) you can copy them to the root of the USB stick.
When the form "Where you want to install windows" windows Vista appear I select load the driver, and then by clicking (Browse), I select the USB drive as source for my drivers.
The (Intel(r) 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller) will automatically appear as a choice and by clicking on the (Next) the process of the pilot installation begins.
So far so good..Here's where things get complicated...
When Vista back to the form "Where you want to install windows", even my system has 2 x 200 GG HDD only 200 GB HARD drive appears in the list...Selections of 'New' Partition, or a Partition of 'Delete' are disabled.
and even when I click 'Next' for selected HD a windows message:"Windows has no determine if this computer contains a valid system volume."
I'd appreciate your help...
Thank you in advance...
George P.Hello
You cannot format the HARD disk or delete the partition because this would remove the SATA driver too, and the HARD drive would not be recognized by Vista!
Therefore, you need to install the OS on the HARD drive that is displayed in the installation program.

Hello
You also need Service Pack 2.
Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.
It will also tell you which SP you have installed.
Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.

Hi man chic,
1. This only happens when you try to install the printer HP or with other programs?
Step 1:
Before you install Windows Vista SP2, uninstall completely printing software.
Check out the link to uninstall a program:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/uninstall-or-change-a-program
Step 2:
After installing SP2, try to install the latest version of the drivers available for the printer and the printer and check if it helps.

Problem installing Win Vista of SuperDrive
After the installation of Fusion 2.0.6 I then install Win Vista by inserting the CD in one of the two SuperDrive on my PowerMac. It does not recognize one of the two disks. In the technical session of this Forum, I found how to fix this problem by changing the VMware configuration file. Still not solve my problem by changing to IDE0 or SCSI0 for four parameters.
Can someone help to solve more high question on how I can get the merger to recognize one of the burners so that I can install Win Vista? Thank you.
More information:
Mac OS X 10.6.1
Fusion 2.0.6 (I don't think that this problem is au.6 as I had the same problem as avec.5)
Mac Pro 8-core 2.26 Hz with 16 MB memory
Thank you.
fwlun wrote:

Cannot install VMware Fusion on a PowerMac because it is not based on Intel, which is a requirement.
You shouldn't have to change the CD/DVD from IDE to SCSI under VMware Fusion to install Windows Vista and if for some reason you cannot get the disc to use the physical disk and then make an ISO Image and use it to install as it is actually faster and that is including the time to make the image.
=================
Note: When you use utility disk in order to have a bootable ISO Image, you must select Master CD/DVD without encryption in which case by default, it will have an extension .cdr file and in version 1.1 of the merger and later does not need to be changed in .iso, although one can if one chooses to. A default .dmg image is compressed and is not bootable, as an uncompressed .dmg will start if changed in .iso and of course the source CD/DVD should be bootable in the first place.
To create an ISO Image using disk utility...
1 insert the CD or DVD disc into the optical drive of your computer.
2. open disk utility (/ Applications/Utilities/Disk utility).
3. Select the CD or DVD drive in the list of disks and volumes.
4. Choose file > new > "Disk Image from (name of the disc)."
5. type a name for the disk image.
6. choose "DVD/CD master" from the Image Format pop-up menu.
7 choose "none" from the encryption pop-up menu.
8. click on save.
After you have made the ISO Image and then eject the disc source from the optical drive.
Then, set the ISO Image as the CD/DVD in the leaf of the parameters of the Virtual Machine.
Take a look at: VMware Fusion menu bar > help > VMware Fusion help > managing Virtual Machines > configure the CD/DVD drive

I bought your desktop Pavilion p6310y on eBay, and I really like it. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on it without problem. For the purposes of running the software (in particular, Microsoft Virtual PC 2007), I also want to install Windows Vista Ultimate on it, on another partition.
I was under the impression that Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - Bit was originally installed the operating system when this system was released, however, when I start the installation support Windows Vista (which I created from a downloaded ISO), it requires additional drivers (no doubt, Serial ATA drivers) before instalatio, also no hard drives appear in the drive list. Anyone know where I can get these independent Serial ATA driver files? The controller is a NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA controller. I do not have the recovery of original installation disks and don't think that it would be possible to get to this point, this system is no longer supported by HP.
Any help would be appreciated. TIA.
Mark W. Stroberg
Hi, Mark:
I compressed upwards and tied the driver for the sata raid controller, you require to the nvidia chipset, that your PC has below.
The best way to install the driver is as follows...
Extract (copy) the files on a USB FlashDrive without any folder.
With the flash player and the support of Vista installation in the machine, boot from the Vista installation media.
After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.
You should now see the storage driver files listed.
If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.
Follow the prompts and I hope that Vista will install.

Can I install Windows Vista on my A110-178
People,
I am in possession of a laptop Toshiba Satellite A110-178. I would like to know if I can install Windows Vista on this laptop? And what version, Home Basic, home premium, ultimate or business.
Kind regards
Tim Snijckers
Hello Tim
I checked the Toshiba download page, and it seems that the drivers for Vista are available. Your laptop should have mode number PSAB0. Please visit http://support.toshiba-tro.de > support & download and choose your model of laptop.
Before you start the installation of Vista, it is recommended to update BIOS first. I did the same thing for friends Satellite A100. After the BIOS update, I was able to install Vista and all the stuff from Toshiba with no problems.

Qosmio G20 Vista drivers? No need to install Windows Vista
Hello
I'm new to this forum. My name is Francisco and I live in the Brazil. I have a Toshiba Qosmio g20_105 and it is running Windows Vista Ultimate EN RTM 6000 without problems.
To do this, you must perform a clean installation of Windows Vista. The drivers for network (Intel PRO100), audio (Soundmax), TV (Toshiba PCI Tuner), modem (modem of toshiba), Alps pointing device are installed directly from microsoft. You must install the Toshiba, Toshiba Bluetooth nvidia display driver (monitor and stack), driver Toshiba flash media, toshiba RAID texas (drivers and utilities), toshiba remote control manager and ConfigFree for Windows Vista.
You must have the Toshiba RAID drivers to install from the windows Vista DVD. Otherway, Windows does not recognize Toshiba RAID 0 and RAID 1.Below some pictures of my desktop of the G20 screen:

http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/myqosmiog20screen2.jpg
http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/myqosmiog20screen3.jpgAnd here is an example of the use of backgrounds animated with Windows Vista, deskscapes called dreamscene.
It is in pause mode
http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/myqosmiog20screen4.jpgTo perform a new installation of windows Vista:
Please, download drivers Toshiba RAID here:
http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/drivers/RAID.rar1 copy the contents of this archive on a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive.
2. Insert your Microsoft Windows Vista Edition Bootable DVD.
3. turn on your computer and press F12 to display the start menu.
4. Select the option to boot from the CD/DVD drive.
5. on the first Setup screen, choose your language options, and then press "next".
6. press on "install now".
7 type your product key and then press "next".
8. accept the license terms by checking the box, then press "next".
9. when he asked "which type of installation that you want", press "Custom (advanced)".
10. when it is asked "Where do you want to install Windows?", make sure that your media containing the Toshiba RAID drivers is connected to the computer, and then click on "Load driver".
11. navigate to the location you copied the RAID drivers then press 'OK '.
12. the installation program will return to the previous screen, but it will show that you have selected the TOSHIBA RAID driver.
13 make sure that the TOSHIBA RAID driver is selected, and then press "next".
14. continue the installation of Windows Vista as usual. Now, you will need drivers Toshiba for your Qosmio G20:
See the information of Device Manager:
http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/qosmiodrivers1.jpgDrivers:
1. SD memory controller
http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/drivers/SD_memory.rar2 battery and Bluetooth monitor

http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/drivers/nvidia97.52.rar4 Texas FlashMedia controller
http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/drivers/flasmedia.rarAnd finally the Toshiba Utilities:
