How can I get assistance guaranteed while I'm not in the country of purchase?

I bought the HP Pavilion 1220st just before leaving Istanbul, Turkey. And I started to use it in the Netherlands. In the second day, I experienced a few problems and I checked the hard drive. At this time, I saw bad clusters in the hard drive and on the third day, I lost the hard drive. Now I'm contacting HP service in Turkey, everything first, they directed me to service building in Istanbul. I don't always put the possibilities if I can get help in Amsterdam. I have not yet final sense.

My question is whether anyone has similar experiences and know how I can get support while I'm not in the country of purchase.

Service in Turkey directed me to communicate with the service in the Netherlands. After the communication I received today a new hard drive by UPS. I reinstalled everything with my recovery disks and now I am answering this post with my new computer . It seems that everything is working now.
