How can I get Firefox to leave the faucet down on my Mac? For the moment, I have to force close down.

I have an iMac and I'm running 10.4.6
I am running Firefox 3.6.26

My problem is, when I shut down my computer, Firefox is not quite, so I have to force Firefox to quit. He's not leaving when I click on leave.

Before this problem appears, Firefox would have to smoke when I clicked on Shut down.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem.

No problem, happy as its all sorted out.

Its a shame to lost your story, I hope you have recovered your bookmarks, however. If this isn't the case, I recommend trying something like FF built in harmony, or for older versions, an add-on like Xmarks to save your bookmarks.

Have you tried the Firefox zoom feature? Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages
You can "zoom in" all sites using this add-on: NoSquint. After setting your overall zoom level, you can still adjust the zoom on different sites.
After the installation of NoSquint, click on the % in the bar of the add-on call site preferences, then click the global settings button, then the zoom tab.

If you do not have the bar the module displayed, you can click the new tab button ("+") or a box empty bar tab to the right of the item and choose the module bar on the shortcut menu.

You can experiment with sizes greater than 125%, but I wouldn't not much higher than 150% unless you have a large screen high resolution.

If there are sites that are still a concern, feel free to post their URLs.

You can find more information about the features of zoom Firefox offer in these articles:

Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages - to zoom text only

Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages - to zoom the entire page (including images etc.)

  • How can I get Firefox to load the font "Symbol" and "Wingdings"?

My 8.0.1 version doesn't have a 'symbol' or the fonts 'Wingdings' listed and when I visited my html document these characters end up using the Arial font. I have the documents with a lot of less-than-and-equal, more-than-and-equal and a crowd of other symbols, and wingdings characters. IE9 works very well. Chrome has the same problem that Firefox has.

You have not been able to do in Firefox since Firefox 2, and even in this case, you may need to change Firefox, so while you might change your Firefox would not very many Firefox users who could use them.

All the browser support unicode, but all the unicode fonts are not the same size and no machine each of them will not in all fonts. If they are your own documents, you will need to convert yourself. Most of what you need, you can probably obtain directly from this page

If not, you can check the links at the top of this page.

You can make Firefox always reload a page by changing a hidden preference.

    1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
    2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    3. In the filter box, type frequency to bring up a small number of preferences
    4. Double-click the browser.cache.check_doc_frequency preference and change its value to 1

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.cache.check_doc_frequency for more details about this preference

  • [SOLVED] [Firefox [19] How can I get Firefox to display the PDF files?

When I first installed Firefox 19, the PDF Viewer worked so well that I uninstalled Adobe Reader. Today, after an update system, Firefox stopped display local PDF. If I open a PDF file directly from a Web site, the internal PDF Viewer active and the PDF file is displayed correctly. However, if I open a PDF to my hard drive, Firefox just displays a mass of confused characters and the internal PDF Viewer does not work.

Here is a screenshot of the behavior: http://i.imgur.com/5Of0kUH.png

I tried to start in safe mode and the behaviour persisted. I really hope there is a fix for this, because the use of Firefox to view PDF files is really much better my workflow.

    EDIT - SOLUTION IN RESPONSE

    SOLUTION

    1. In the terminal, type: # firefox - ProfileManager
    2. Create a new profile.
    3. Start with the profile said.
    4. Fixed. Internal PDF Viewer now works in a profile.

I had a peek in this and was informed that Firefox does not work on Chrome OS.

It is designed and done a little differently from the likes of Windows and Linux and will not support another browser being installed.
