78 background... processes that can disable?

I have a Lenovo Z50 with 64-bit OS of Windows 8. It has no touchscreen capability, and the only wireless device that I connect is my Brother printer.

The Task Manager shows I've got 78 "background processes" running. That seems excessive. My start is also quite slow because my laptop is new. Can someone tell me clearly which of these can safely stop or get rid of?

I also get random reviews saying that I have 'A new App' of doing things. I don't know if my computer is automatically download things without asking or if it came with these things and is letting me know that I have when he thinks they're relevant. Does anyone else know?

The forum is do the peak fairly unreadable, so here's a link: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=BF131533D0052FF0! 22900 & authkey =! AO7y-LBa-zQK65Y & v = 3 & ithint = % 2cjpg photo

First of all, I count 24 which are the addons, but given all these processes only use %1 CPU and 32% of memory that I suspect that something is happening.

There is a site that will tell you what processes of BONE are called blackviper.com nec

For the add ons, you control CCSDK, Cyberlink, focus, CTF loader, 7 Google process, 2 (updated to win 10) GWX, 6 process of bloatware from Lenovo, POWERDVD, RTFTRAC, etc.

If you want to see slow please run a trace of windows performance

In order to diagnose your problem, we need run Windows performance toolkit, the instructions that are in this wiki

  • How to stop a background process/thread?

    Hello

Our previous BlackBerry app is made by someone else and now we want to make a few changes to it.

The problem I'm working now on, it's that there's no way you can close the application, because the menu button has been disabled (he always kept running in the background). This combined with the fact that the application creates a new thread, means that when you watched on all running programs, you had 2 process that you can not stop.

Since then I have solved the problem with the key menu and now I can stop the main application, but the background thread keeps appearing as a running process (when I choose to change to another application).

So, after this story, my question is:

How can you stop a process in the background?

In my case I want to stop the background process that the application has started at some point and will not close now...

    Thank you!

    Welcome on the support forums.

You can stop the background process using world events.

set up a globaleventlistener in the background process and set a terminate event.

or you might mark it as a module of the system, it would not appear in the Task Manager, then.

    Hello

This is probably the result of malware then do a very thorough check and when the
the system is clean see the following message to remove this error.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to do a thorough check and removal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect the cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy to detect malicious software is often accompanied by a much harder to detect and remove the payload. So its best to be now too thorough than paying the high price later. Check with them to an extreme exaggeration, and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

  • A process that maintains a lock can lose the CPU?

    Fairly theoretical question:
On a busy system, is it possible for the OS Scheduler move a process that currently hold a lock on the CPU? (possibly wait while other processes turn the latch as well...)

I'm sure that its unlikely, given that the locks are held for a short time. I wonder if Oracle has taken steps to ensure that this will not happen, or if it is always theoretically possible.

Its a yes / no question, but I'm actually looking for a method that I can use to discover this.

    Yes, certainly.

It would be one of the reasons for the recommendation to not change the priorities of oracle process in Unix Scheduler - a 'low' priority process holds a resource (for example a latch) may affect a process 'priority' simply because the process of 'low' priority is not allocated CPU scheduler for unix.

"Locks" are Oracle implementations to protect memory structures in the SGA. The Unix Scheduler is not really care what "internal" resources are 'held' by a process when it moved a process in and out of the race-queue.

  • is there a minimum set of windows services that can be run under Labview?

I need more cpu resources to perform my VI, is there a list of Windows resources that I can disable that will not affect the VI?

    Hello

I would like to know if there is a minimum of services set in really need of LabVIEW. Not because my VI needs more CPU, but because I don't see why I should have 10 services OR running in the background even when LabVIEW is not working.

The list of services OR that I have running on my Vista 64 bit system when LabVIEW is not running is:

    national instruments tagsrv.exe 1 k 9 996 variable motor

    2 nisvcloc.exe NOR 0,920 k service locator

    3 NOR-PAL 3 492 k nipalsm.exe service manager

    4 NOR-Pal 7 468 k nipalsm.exe service manager

    5 nipalsm.exe service manager OR-Pal 21 356 k

    service of National Instruments Zeroconf nimdnsResponder.exe 6 k 1 924

    7 niLxiDiscovery.exe National instruments LXI Discovery Service 1 592 k

    nidmsrv.exe 8 nidmsrv 3 492 k

    lktsrv.exe 9 iktsrv.exe 3 480 k

    10 lkads.exe lkads 3 124 k

    TOTAL 56 844 K

Anyone know which of these I really need? I do not connect any equipment data acquisition on this machine. It is purely used for writing vi which are then transferred to another machine where they are tested. I have installed DAQmx and LabVIEW 8.6.
