  Can I know where you bought this XI Acrobat Pro? If it is from Adobe, then the serial number must be registered with your Adobe ID, but if in the case where you bought the 3rd party vendor please check them.

  Subscription does not have any serial number. Please use your Adobe ID to update the licensed software.

  You don't need a serial nr for updating a program

  You need the original CS4.0. install and add the series nr. to get the program to work.

  Now you can update to 4.2.1

  I think (but I do not know) that the application will get your email address, even if you just download for use during the limited time, but that the developers have never thought that people could download free apps without being connected in My World.
