How can I permanently get rid of the pop-up?

Assuming that you are talking about Windows Live Mail, why not? You can read your Hotmail in the same location as your other messages, without having to open a browser.

Signature has nothing to do with the e-mail accounts. It determines which list of contacts and the calendar to load, and provides access to functions like send photo.

When you view your list of messages, press Ctrl-Shift-O for Options. On the connection tab, click on stop signing in.
