  There are several potential issues at stake here.

  First of all, make sure that you use the Windows product key is for the full XP Pro version not the upgrade version.

  Secondly, many manufacturers of computers for the last few years have provided computers with Windows XP installed, but a product key of Vista on the side.  If this is your situation, you need to call the manufacturer of your computer for the installation media or call microsoft to "downgrade rights."

  Thirdly, if you use a product key that was provided for Windows XP Service Pack 3, and you use the older installation media, it will not accept this product key.  You need to get your hands on support for XP Service Pack 3.

  Put the bubble in front of the table, select both and press Cmd/Ctrl + 7. (Object > clipping mask > make)

  If you want the image to show through at the same time more of a bubble, you have to make a compound path of bubbles before applying the mask.
