  You have the original installation media supplied with your machine? This would be a way: use the DVD to boot from, format the new hard drive and then reinstall the operating system. You can then update/upgrade to 10.11.

  Other than that, your model was not eligible to have its firmware updated to allow for the recovery of the internet which is the only other way I know - at least the only other way besides a bootable clone, you did before your defective hard disks.

  Why are you trying to get the name of constant control? Remember that you cannot use this name to address control; control names are in fact simply the macros in the file associated with the UIR, include in other words, the preprocessed compiler code and everywhere where the names of PANEL_CONTROL replaces the digital value as parameters to functions (and therefore 'control' parameter is an int value and not a char *)

  That's why NewCtrl () or DuplicateCtrl () functions return a control ID: this is the handle to the new object, the only way to handle it. You will need to store this handle in a nonvolatile memory so that you can access durng life program.

  In addition, there are other ways to assign a meaning to a control to pass on the name of constant control. For example, you can use the callbackData parameter to differentiate the different copies of a control.

  Let me explain with an example. You said that you need several entries (dynamically created that you don't know in advance how many of them use); a solution could be:

  • Design a master copy of a control in the IUR Editor, where it is easy to customize; also assign a callback function, if it must be common to all copies of the control
  • Assign a value to this control callbackData, programmatically for example SetCtrlAttribute (...,..., ATTR_CALLBACK_DATA, (void *) 1);
  • Duplicate the control, and then assign a different callbackData
    for (i = 2; I have< 5;="" i++)="">
    handle = DuplicateCtrl (...);
    SetCtrlAttribute (..., handle, ATTR_CALLBACK_DATA, (void *) I);
    }

  By operating this way, whenever the reminder of control is triggered by any control, it will receive the callbackData assigned, and you will be able to differentiate your code with a simple switch:

  I work with these engines for three days now and just LabVIEW for the first time the day prior to that, so all for a n00b's kind words are much appreciated.

I took a brief look through the manual SilverPak for orders of the unit here: http://www.linengineering.com/LinE/contents/stepmotors/pdf/Silverpak23C-R356Commands.pdf. It is possible to use the information of speed and acceleration, it seems that there may be a more direct way to wait for a move be complete using one of the commands query on page 10. I'm not too familiar with these units of engine or the amplifier, but you should be able to question the position of motor with 1? command 0. So, you can issue a command of the first engine and then constantly question the engine until the desired position is reached and then runs the next step.

  To do this, you can benefit from a state machine for your code architecture: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3024/en. Essentially, you can have a set of States for your system (for example to move X, move Y) and you can move from one State to another based on certain conditions (for example the position of X has reached a threshold). While it may take a little more time to set up initially, it will make future additions to your code much simpler. Please take a look at the link and let me know if you have any other questions.

  There is no API that provides this information.  You can get the number of incoming callers, but not the name of caller ID.
