Why Firefox can not add a simple question opt-out or the protection password to change the home page?
«X is trying to change your homepage to X.com.» Allow? O/N.

After you add that, add: "permanently block access by X.com. O/N.

Web sites do not have permission to change your home page. If you find that it is turned, consider the possibility that you have somehow an extension of thugs.

Try this:

Disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

  • CTRL + SHIFT + a
  • Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off. (Or if it is clearly badware, delete).

Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

(1) if there is no Remove button to an extension, see the control panel. In Windows Vista and 7, the relevant dialog box is "uninstall a program". don't know how it's called point 8.1 of Windows.     Change the home page when you check only in "Options > general > Startup" or is it a problem with the page that opens when you launch Firefox?

    It seems that you might have downloaded some malware or adware.  Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac to get rid of him.  In the future, avoid the following types of sites to prevent it happening again:

    • XXX sites
    • torrent sites
    • Group download sites (CNET, Softonic, download (dot) com, MacUpdate, etc..)
    • MP3 download sites (Mp3 Skull, mp3monkey, etc.)
    • No matter what website says you can do or download something for free you know otherwise you would cost money
