How can I me Windows 8.1 installed on Windows 7 PC?

Hello

I just recently brought an asus gaming pc,

and I have windows 7 installed. I have windows 8.1 on a different device I can get windows 8.1 on my other pc?

Original title: windows 7 to 8

First, you will need to purchase a new license for the new computer.

You can do it from the old computer by:

How to buy additional keys:

Press the Windows key + X

Click System

Click on see details in the Windows Activation

Click on the link: buy Windows to another computer

http://www.Windows.com/buy

Yes, you may be prompted to go through the installation routine with just the web installer of 5 MB, but you don't actually have to download, simply to purchase and the product key will be presented to you in the Upgrade Wizard (you also a copy is sent to your email address).

Once you have the product key, you can use the existing DVD if you had improved the other computer yourself to 8.1 Windows, otherwise, you will need to download the Windows 8.1 Upgrade Wizard:

I have a little experience with DISM but can't seem to get SP1 inserted into a NON - sp1 install.wim file.

I did a lot of research, and the greater part of the answer of all seems them to start with a disc of sp1.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jhein,

Rather than add the SP1 version for .wim files, you can get the latest ISO of Windows 7 SP1 from this link. Instructions for installing Windows 7 SP1 can be found here.

If you really want to change the install.wim from your original installation media, it would be better to post your query on support of Windows 7 IT Pro TechNet forums .

Windows 8 came pre-installed on a hp Tower pre-built, am now upgrading my computer (new Mobo, Cpu, Gpu, cases, etc.) and guard my drive hard, how can I keep windows? or I have to buy a new product key?

    Hello

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

The problem description, I understand that you want to upgrade the hardware and need to confirm how can you keep your operating system.

In this case, I want to tell you that you want to keep your drive hard if you do not have to reinstall the operating system and that you upgrade the motherboard too and in the OEM version product key is integrated motherboard, so in this case, you may need contact system manufacturing to re activate your product key.

    What is free today?
    You have two options:
1 / you can order the original restore on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx disc and have own Win7 preinstalled who also will be successfully activated. This option costs about 30 euros, but it is easier and better option for you.
2 / you can install the version of Win7 clean using the Microsoft installation disc. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities, you can download it from http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

I put t see other options.

How can I remove Windows 2000 Pro and let my only XP?

I was given a computer from a friend.  It had Windows 2000 Pro top.  I installed my copy of XP on the computer, but do not delete the 2000 Pro here at this time.  Now, I would remove the 2000 and have no idea how to do it.  I'm fairly intelligent, but am a computer redhead.  In other words, if we say how to do it, I can.  I just don't know how to do it without help.

If someone wouldn't mind helping me, I'd appreciate it.

2000 has been upgraded to xp or xp resides in a separate partition. If the

1 has taken place, open Add/Remove Programs, remove 2000, once in, open disk

Cleanup utility, look for more button options, search for remove all but the last restore, point

Run disk Cleanup, restarting the pc. If xp is on a separate partition, boot the pc with the xp installation

CD, press r for recovery to the menu console, select 1 for press C: entered password,.

type: DiskPart in DiskPart, delete the 2000 partition, create one, press the ESC key. Type: EXIT

Go back to xp, in run, type: diskmgmt.msc in msc, R.click on the new free space.

Select 'format' follow the wizard, use the default settings. Once her thru, L.click to this topic

go to the actions, all, select 'Activate' exit msc.

  • How can I reactivate Windows XP?

Got my PC from file system damaged, but now windows don't be loading not unless I have Windows XP automatic internett connecting to microsoft does nothing. How can I reactivate Windows XP Pro?

    Hello Raphael,.

Christmas sent me to see if I had something that might help :-)

My understanding of your situation, it's that your computer has a file system corrupted, if you used the manufacturer's recovery process to recover your computer if you "out-of-the-box".  I also noticed that you mentioned that recovery has given you the option has not your personal files in a place called "my old file Structures." Unfortunately, the recovery isn't going smoothly 100% and you encounter a problem of activation.

The best tour I have up my sleeve is trying to "rearm" Windows Product Activation XP, which if it works will provide you with a grace period of 30 days, during which you can try to recover and backup your files from the old file Structure My, their credit on another storage (like external HDD or flash drives). Once your data is safe, then you can try to get another and hope this goes more smoothly this time. If this is not the case, your next step would be to contact the manufacturer to acquire the system disks required to run CD/DVD recovery rather than the recovery partition on the hard drive of your computer.

If the computer can be started in a safe mode command prompt, run this option to rearm activation XP:

    Rundll32.exe syssetup, SetupOobeBnk

The command must be typed exacly as above with space, caps, and comma.  Restart, and if it works, you will be able to log in normal mode (as opposed to safe mode) and will be in the 30-day activation grace period.

Assuming that works, save your data, and then try the recovery again.  You will want to visit the support pages and community forum hosted by the manufacturer of your computer to search and see if the seeds of recovery are common for your make and model of computer - if yes, it is likely to be a fix for what you can implement.

If this does not work, then your next task is to use an operating system off-line such as BartPE, Ultimate Boot CD, Knoppix, etc., to save your data from the saved location.  Once the data is turned off the computer and the safe, you can use the manufacturer's recovery disks (or disc OEM/systembuilder Microsoft at the generic address) to make a good clean install of Windows.

    Good luck! :-)

Convert your. MOV files to the. WMV format
before the import into Movie Maker would be your
    best bet.

There are to many converters available on the net...
the following programs are some examples:

(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup260.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the last screen)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
Drag FFSetup260.exe out of the folder
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Is to reinstall windows and reformatting the same windows? How can I reformat windows? TQ.

There are essentially two different methods to "install Windows":

    1. a clean install (which is basically all wipes) imply the shape of the disk (or partition).

    2. a repair install (which is supposed to leave all your programs and data intact) does not imply the formatting.

I'm sorry, but you will need a Windows 9 x / ME drive to provide during the XP installation from the XP disc is a version upgrade. There is no way around that. See if you can find a friend with an older operating system disk (not a recovery disk) to support qualification. Otherwise, you would need to buy the full version (not upgrade) of XP to install on the computer. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • How can I reinstall windows after replacing the hard drive? Laptop did not come with a disc.

My internal hard drive went bad in my laptop, easy to replace and relatively inexpensive. However, the laptop came not with the windows disk. So, how can I reinstall windows once I replaced the hard drive?

Basically, you have two choices. You can communicate with the person who made the computer and see if they can provide either a set of Windows Vista restore disks (I would assume) or an installation for Windows Vista (probably OEM) DVD. If the second choice, determine if you will need to download device drivers or software packages from their web site. OR, you can purchase the operating system of your choice, retail. The wisdom is that, if this is your choice, you see if you will need the device drivers and get those of the web site of the manufacturer.

Once you have the disks, install in the usual way.

  • How can I reinstall windows 7that I deleted by mistake

How can I reinstall windows 7 I have somehow deleted by mistake

Method may vary according to the resources you have.

    1. For some, you press a certain key combination at an appropriate place in the boot process. The machine will use the files in a hidden partition on the hard drive to get us back to the State as delivered. Of couse, this deoes does not work if the machine has no such partition partition either because he has never done or has been deleted or damaged some time after the initial installation. Check the computer manufacturer web site or documents accompanying the machine to determine if this applies to your machine and, if so, the keys used.
    2. For others, locate you and use a disk or a set of disks that came with the computer. You will place the DVD in the boot from the DVD drive and follow the prompts on the screen to install the OS and, possibly, the applications and utilities provided by the manufacturer.
    3. For others still, find you the retail DVD and reinstall, as it has done before.
    4. And still others, you must use a value recovery disk you did once the computer has been configured with a program/utility provided by the manufacturer of the computer or you got to a 3rd party or one provided by Windows 7.
    5. And, in certain circumstances, depending on how the system has been removed, a recovery can be performed using a partition recovery utility is included in Acronis Disk Director (not free).

After that, you need to maybe reinstall applications and backups user files or install media or re-downloads/downloads.
