How can I move an e-mail in my Inbox in one of my folders on a Mac?

at the same time I could click on "move" and select the name of the folder, but this option does not appear.

This should be available:

  • Right click on the email in the list - not the record
  • Select "move to".
  • Select the folder and e-mail account

  • How can I move an e-mail message sent as an attachment in my Inbox?

I recently migrated from MS Outlook 2003 to Thunderbird 24.4.0 to my personal e-mail address because I cannot afford the latest MS Outlook and you'd really like version 2013 in any case. Before migration, any time someone sent me a personal email at work, I communicate in-house attachment and move this attachment in my inbox at home. In Thunderbird, I find that when I drag the attachment section of the attachment in the Inbox folder (the actual file in the navigation pane or the list of emails in the Inbox), I get the unavailable symbol (circle with slash through it). I guess this won't be something I can do in Thunderbird, but wanted to check here and see if anyone had other ways to get the same end result.

The reason why I did historically is to preserve the original email and have the email client show me to which he sent to me. Display of the transmitted message is fine, but if I want to search later, I have to look for an e-mail from shipment of myself instead of the original message that was sent to me.

Beyond to get people to use my home address (really not sure why/how they have my one job), anyone has any tips that might get there? For the record, I also tried to send the mail to my home address as if it were the original sender, but who do not fly to work due to the security configuration in Exchange Server.

Save the attachment and give him an extension eml so she has not one (messages attached to the messages of TB are named 'Attached Message'), then drag the eml file explore file where you saved it and drop it on a TB folder in the folders pane.

One thing you could do requires some manual work, but much less removal of dupes. For example, the Inbox. In the machine, you are going to scrap, create a new folder and move all messages in your Inbox to it. After you import on the other machine, you can drag the messages you need this folder in the Inbox, and then remove the user created the folder.

And then there are tools to remove the dupes. This one for example.

  • How can I move all the folders in Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail?

Bought a new computer with Windows Home, how can I move the folders of Outlook Express in Windows XP SP3 in Windows Live Mail? Thanks for your help.

Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For Messages:

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

Open the Contacts list in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

    For the account settings:

In OE: Tools | Accounts, select the account and export it to the desktop. This will be an .iaf file. Copy it to the new computer and WLMail desktop: tools | Accounts and import the settings from the location you saved the.

How can I move my Outlook contacts list to a list of contacts from Thunderbird?

Is it the client to Outlook, or outlook.come-mail, name of this year for what was formerly hotmail and live email?

If the first and it is on the same computer, Thunderbird should be able to import it.

Otherwise, import your address book from outlook to a CSV file and then import this file into Thunderbird.

It may be useful (if not also necessary!) to open the CSV file in your spreadsheet and cut on all spare columns - i.e. all virgins ones - before attempting to import in Thunderbird.

  • How can I move multiple messages from Inbox to a specific folder?

I left a lot of emails in my Inbox that must have been moved in specific folders. How can I move them in bulk in their specific folders other than moving each of them individually. I pointed out the messages involved in the search, and then click all. I then click on move to...
Nothing seems to happen... I don't know there is probably a step I'm missing here. What would it be?
A similar problem occurs when I want to do a mass removal of e-mails from a specific sender...

To select a large number of messages:

Select the first message. Hold down the "Shift" key, then select the last message. This "selects" all messages between the first and the last of them.

In case it is not obvious, it is not specific to Thunderbird.

  • How can I move all messages and folders in 'Local folder' in the folder of my main account? The local stuff is to import from Outlook

I imported my mail from Outlook, and they went into a local folders. I want that they in the main folder for the my account section. How can I move them there?
For the moment, I create each folder and then copy the contents of one folder to another - crazy, and I have dozens of files

    DOH!

After spending most of last night slowly moving the files from the Local level to the account that it's a little late for me to go back the other way, but what you suggested looks like it could work.
Still seems simpler to 'right click' a folder and "move it" and all subfolders to have it move properly as well. Of course your test produces a different result for me. I wasn't able to drag all the folders with the sub folders and the contents of these subfolders go with it, only the contents of the main folder is gone.
Still, as I said, I have now done most probably time call it a day on this topic and I hope that all similar problems see your answer above - cheers.
