If I had a dual core or even a quad core, what Firefox would be maxing out the CPU.

  This is a new feature in Firefox 43. To turn it off to do this:

  1. Go about: config in Firefox
  2. Click on the I'll be careful button
  3. Locate the Boolean browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete
