  • How can I remove the search address suggestions bars?

In my preferences when using the address bar, I've checked bookmarks. History and open the tab are disabled. When I use the address bar the first suggestion is the 'users can choose search suggestions' in Firefox version 43.0. How can I remove that altogether? For me personally, I liked it better in version 42.0 when it would not be the case. Now it feels very awkward that I don't have the same routine.

In the attached picture, I type in 'g' in the address bar, and the first suggestion is to visit gen.lib.rus.ec/
Before, it wasn't the case, I must type in 'g' and the first suggestion would be to google.

Is there something in the subject: config or options that will disable this?

    Thank you
    Good day

This is a new feature in Firefox 43. To turn it off to do this:

    1. Go about: config in Firefox
    2. Click on the I'll be careful button
    3. Locate the Boolean browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete
    4. Change the false value

Note: You may need to restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

  • How can I remove the search engine on my page in new tabs?

    Hello

a year or two ago I spent hours trying to find an answer to this question and I managed to do it, but unfortunately a few weeks back I had an unexpected data loss, and I'm unable to find a solution to my problem more.

By 'on my new tabs page search engine', I mean the dialog box with the choice search engine that did not exist in the previous version of FireFox. I want to not go. Not changed Yahoo, Bing or anything else - just.

If I remember, the solution was to go to about: config and change the settings for those who would make the thing not appear at all (rather that remove entirely), but if you know how to do so that he went not only visually, but also officially, I'm obviously very well with this solution too.

Hi, you are using an older version of Firefox, which can compromise your security. Update to 41.0.1, open the 3-bar menu > help (question mark below on the right) > on Firefox.

After that, here's some additional information for reference: you can change the number of tiles on the page new tab in zoom in or back (Ctrl and + key, or Ctrl and - key).

You can also keep the same zoom setting when a new tab is clicked: Type Subject: config in the address bar, press ENTER, accept the warning, scroll to browser.newtab.preload and double-click on it to change the 'value' of true to False.

It is also possible about: config to change the maximum number of tiles, scrolling to the browser.newtabpage.columns (or Rows), then right-click > modify to set a new number of 'value '. - Editor of Configuration of Firefox.

However, given that you want to remove the search box in the new page tab, I suggest you try the add-on New tab tools.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • How can I remove the search field in the new tab page?

I just started to use the new tab by default FF page and want to remove the search box just above the tiles.

Is it possible to do this without the help of CSS?

You can hide the search bar and margins at the top and bottom with the code in the userContent.css file to get more space for the tiles.

You can add code to the userContent.css file.

    @-moz-document url(about:newtab) {
     #newtab-margin-top,
     #newtab-margin-bottom,
     #newtab-search-container { display:none !important; }
    }

Customization files (Web sites) userContent.css and userChrome.css (user interface) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

    • Create the folder chrome (lowercase) in the .default < xxxxxxxx > profile folder if the folder does not exist
    • Use a text editor like Notepad to create a file userContent.css (new) in the folder chrome (file name is case sensitive)
    • Paste the code into the userContent.css file in the Editor window
    • Make sure that you select "All files" and not "text files" when you save the file via "save file as" in the text editor as userContent.css.
Otherwise, Windows can add a hidden .txt file extension and you end up with one does not not userContent.css.txt file
  • How can I get the search bar on the home page of Firefox to stop mirroring of what is in the search toolbar?

This seems to be something new, but I usually use the built in the toolbar to search at the top right of my Firefox window to search eBay and I usually go to the Firefox default Home/Start for searches on Google page. Now, it seems that whenever I try to search from the home/start page, I get the results of any search engine is specified in the top search bar. So if toolbar is set to 'eBay' and I search something on the homepage, only eBay results appear.
I don't want to do. I want that the Google search home page every time, no matter what is on my search toolbar. It's really annoying to have to go to the search bar engine resume Google and then my search. I often open new tabs quickly find something relevant to what I'm working on because it requires less effort to hit Ctrl + T to open a new tab that is already on the cover with my cursor in the search field, than using the toolbar where I have to take my hands on the keyboard to use the mouse. How can I fix it. This "improvement" sucks.

I forgot an obvious solution to this problem. I just changed my homepage of "www.google.com" rather than use the default Firefox homepage. In hindsight, it makes little sense to use the default Firefox homepage as an intermediary to Google anyway.

  • How can I remove the search function of Joobers of Firefox?

I would like to remove the search function of my 8.0.1 Mac Joobers version of Firefox. This feature appeared all recently. I tried to remove the Joobers cookies and restart Firefox. Any other ideas?

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

    • Open the topic: config page through the address bar and do a search for joobers via the filter at the top of the about: config page.
    • Reset all the joobers related prefs which appear "BOLD" (user set) via the context menu to their default values.

    Hello

    Please see:

    More generally:
Check your list of installation programs in Windows - Control Panel > programs and features. Generally the malware comes with other applications, if you sort by date and see several applications on the same day, it may be easier to find the suspicious applications in this way.

Use these free programs to search for malicious software, which works with your existing anti-virus software:

I tried to add the search engine different what you ask because I had to reset my computer to a restore point prior and found this add through your research tools page. now I want to remove it but I can't find it in programs and features.

It works when you choose Manage search... engines in the menu drop-down and click restore default values in the dialog box that opens?

If this does not work, a reinstall of firefox might also address the issue - just go to getfirefox.com, download the latest version of the browser and install it on top of your current installation.

  • How can I remove the search of Babylon and the toolbar

    Hello

I have restored a dell dimension 4700 with windows xp and its lost. I tried all the suggestions from the community. So I decided since I had yet
No sound after a mouse wireless installed (my mother's day gift) I ran the restore disc again. I improved that is version 8 and added Malawarebytes, AVG,
Search and destroy and plans to add avast and the babylon search tool bar and took over. I ran the scans and entered in the registry keys
typing REGEDIT open the CURRENT USER, COMPUTER KEY, or some THING TOTHAT EFFECT and found search for Babylon toolbar and click on delete.
I wrote all the right stuff I've done, but I left it at home. I've also kept all my responses from the community in my e-mail for future reference. The problem I have
It is now that is to say, continues to break up I get the error messages. This is wh y I do not have the avast. The spybot found the tool of Babylon and supposedly fixed it.
    Thanks for your suggestions

I am to my friends using his computer

CCleaner is a cleaning tool better than Windows disk cleanup (but windows Disk Cleanup is always good).

If you use CCleaner no need to use the XP disk cleanup.

But it's a good idea to defragment from time to time; say once a month if you are a moderate user

Files out of the place and Windows Defrag puts back them in their correct order.

Think of it as a workbook, where files get placed in the wrong folders and drawers (must find them and put them in the right place every now and again, so that you can quickly find the next time.)

The operating system and the information it contains in the same and the files get fragmented. The Defragmantation program gives the files fragmented in the right place.

Your computer is simply a replacement for the old style desk, typewriter and workbook, etc. in your office.

  • How can I remove the menu bar in Windows Explorer?

I have Windows 7 (x 64). In windows Explorer, the menu bar will not go if I press ALT. Also, I went into the menu "Organize" and went to "provision". Display of the menu bar has been disabled. I even checked "View" tab in the folder options and the display of the menu bar option is disabled here also. I tried to restart, but which did not help either. So, what should I do? The menu bar that bothers me a lot. So, ill reinstall windows if I can't find a way to remove it.

So I guess the menu bar also refused to go when you were in safe mode.  If so, it narrows at least it down to a Windows problem.  If the system is free of any software malicious then the fault lies with Windows being corrupt.

If SFC has reported no problems then only clean boot procedures could narrow things down to the component of Windows 7 that is the cause of the problem.

You may find that the boot is too tedious & skip to what is called an in Place Upgrade or repair installation using your installation DVD. It's better than a reinstall full as it leaves your applications & intact user files.

  • How can I remove the search engines grouped?

I can't delete or disable the search engines related to companies who commit serious violations of human rights through the menu settings of Firefox for Android. What are my other options? Firefox has become literally offensive. Alternatively, what are some free free browsers that do not force on me?

Sorry to read that you strongly against related companies with our search engine providers pre-established grouped. There is currently no way to disable each individually, but we are planning and explore for a future version. In the meantime, if you don't like the provider, do not search with it.
