    OfficeJet 6700, Windows XP.

    When I scan something, the results are always sent to "My Documents" on my computer. I want to send them in the folder titled "My Scans". How do I do that?

    Can I appoint the scans before being sent? Currently they are automatically named Scan 0001 or 0002 and so on >

    Hello

    You can set a different prefix instead of Scan, then you must rename the files as well you can configure the software to display a record as dialogue during the scan job.

    To change the settings, open the HP software (start > all programs > HP > HP Officejet 6700 > click on your printer icon).

    Click on scan a Document or Photo.

    Select the shortcut to scan, generally, you use and click Advanced settings.

    The Destination tab.

    Select the folder target under the saving location.

    You can check the box next to the display dialog box save slot, then you will be provided with a file name option in the analysis.

  • How can I send faxes directly to the computer?

    I have an Officejet Pro 8500 a HP all-in-one.  My computer operating system is windows Vista home and the printer is connected wireless to my home network.  I want to know how to send a fax received from the printer directly to the computer without having to print on paper first.  Occasionally, my printer working ink or for any other reason, I'm not going to want to print a paper copy of a received fax.  I may still need to read the fax.  I wish I could print the faxes in my computer so I can read and print the latter if necessary. Thanks for the help. Jim

    Ah, I finally found!  It's an option under HP digital fax on the control panel of the product.  Thus, for some reason, the process with my printer was very complicated:

    1. I tried to configure digital facsimile from the control panel of the product.  He ordered me to use the software on the computer that comes with the printer; as well;

    2. I tried this software.  But the software I had installed my printer do not have an option for digital Fax, so;

    3. I went to the product HP digital fax option control panel that directed me to the built-in web server, therefore;

    4. I opened the built-in web server. But although this software has options for HP digital fax it doesn't have an option to stop printing paper, so;

    5. I had to go back to the product digital HP Fax option control panel and find the option to disable fax print it!

    Of course, at almost every step along the way that I should try to set up the printer, and then understand why it didn't work the way I wanted to and then go on the support forum, read page after page of messages, return to the printer, try various "solutions" online, then go back to forums, etc, etc. etc.  It seems that HP could do a much better job in the design of its product interface software so that customers did not have to spend as much time find answers to simple questions.

    Unlike Windows XP & Vista, Win7 does not have a default email Client. [What were thinking?]

    You will need to install a (e.g. MS Outlook;) Windows Live Mail; Thunderbird) , and then set it as a default for mail in CUSTOM (<>) article in Set Program Access and defaults of the computer , then restart your computer before any function send to or MailTo will become available.

    You will find support for Win7 e-mail Clients in this forum: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking?page=1&tab=all

    In these forums, you will find support for Windows Live Mail:

  • How can I send a group of addresses of recipients to someone else?

    I regularly send messages to groups of recipients (5 to 50 in size). Someone supports a part of my work; How can I send a group of addresses without having to type all of them again?
    I tried watching a group of addresses in "address", highlighting its content and by pressing Ctrl-C; but by pressing Ctrl-V in the body of an email to him does not.

    You can export books complete addresses or mailing lists.

    If these groups are already in you mailing lists the address book opens the address book and click on the folder in the list to highlight. Then go to Tools-Export.

    Then name the file, choose where to save it and decide what file format can use the new person.

    The LDIF format is best if they are a user of Thunderbird. Separated by commas works with most, and can be opened in Excel to view or change.

    And then send the file.

    Export your address book is a good way to save problems later.

  • My iPod classic is synced to my old pc windows how can I send it to my new apple mac - all my music on iPod is uploaded to this topic via ads and bought on iTunes?

    My iPod classic is currently synced on my old windows pc - how can I send it to my new Apple Mac without losing any of my music.  All my music is downloaded from the ads?

    If you still have your old PC in working condition, with its iTunes library intact, not to use your iPod to transfer the library to your new Mac.  You transfer your data from user (not just your iTunes data) directly from the old PC to the new Mac.

    There is an automated system called Migration Wizard, if your system meets the requirements.  Be sure to have a backup of the data.

    Migration of Windows v1.0.5.7 Assistant

    Alternatively, for the part of iTunes, this paper outlines how do it manually, using an external drive.

    Manage and backup your iTunes media library - Apple Support

    To summarize, the first step is to make sure that all your iTunes data is stored in the iTunes folder ("consolidate"), which is located in your folder music user account.  The second step is to copy this folder iTunes on an external drive, to create a backup.  The third step is to restore that backup the iTunes on your new Mac folder.  Launch iTunes to use data from the old PC iTunes; It looks like iTunes running on your old PC, complete with all the songs (and other types of media) and data, such as reading lists, notes, play count, etc.

    Your iPod continues to synchronize with it, because for the iPod, it's the same iTunes library (on another computer).  If you using your iPod as a data source, you add your old data to an iTunes library on Mac.  It is NOT complete.  The iPod sees it as a different iTunes library.  iPods are not designed to be your data from iTunes backup.

    However, IF the iPod is now the only place where your songs are stored (and you have no other backup), thanks for posting back.
