How can I speed up the downloads of windows seven?

How can I speed up the download time? According to the size-10 to 30 minutes to download a pdf file? Seems it should be much faster then 10-30 minutes

There is no way to speed up the downloads.  Download speeds are dependent on your ISP and the package that you have with them.  If you don't have a fast connection speed or fast package, you will get faster speeds of the upgrade of your Internet service provider Package.

    Hello

The page/site seems to load very well at the moment.

However if want to inspect what could slow down the loading of your page I recommend using 'firebug' and select the 'network' tab to follow every chronology file loading.  Then you can see which file takes more time to load to help make adjustments accordingly.

How can I turn off the CSS rule window?

Please don't say 'you should really learn how to use CSS '.  I create my own CSS for many years very well without the nuisance of a pop-up window.

Ah, I see - I don't think there is a way to stop this behavior when you are working in Design view in DW CS4. If you were still using CS3, you could deselect the "use CSS instead of HTML tags" in the General preferences category, but who went in CS4.

I tried to order a rental movie in ITunes. I don't see a hint showing that it is downloading. How can I tell?

What rent you on? On an iOS device, you should have a Downloads tab in the app Store in iTunes when items are downloaded, which will show you the progress; on iTunes from the computer when you download things, you will have an arrow at the top right of iTunes next to the search box, click on that to see your download progress

  • How can I return to the old preferences window? I don't like the new tab.

I used to be able to click: Firefox-> Preferences and get the window preferably. Firefox Preferences now opens as a tab. I don't know how or why it changed. But I don't like. How can I go back to the old way to open the preference window?

Hi, I'm not familiar with Mac, but I think it should work - it does in Windows: Type Subject: config in the address bar, press ENTER, accept the warning, scroll to browser.preferences.inContent and double-click on it to change the "value" from true to False, taking care to not to change what anyone else. You will then need to restart Firefox.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • How can I speed up the movement of the dashes (-)?

When you type in an application that requires a series of dashes, they move so slowly that I end up having to hit the key every time sometimes through the entire letter. My trackball moves the cursor perfectly fine, but when you use the keyboard layout, printing of dashes as a descendant lines are extremely slow. I can't find a way to set this speed as you can do with the cursor. Any help would be appreciated.

  • How can I change all the fonts in Windows system?

I read this article about how to change the fonts, but in the SYSTEM.ini and WIN.ini, there are no sections named "windows".  I guess I might have to make one, but then the article says also that the police must be a .fon font.  Is this some sort of font file?  I think that most of the fonts in my folder of fonts opentype, certainly not "fon."  OpenType can be converted into fon?  Or can I just use opentype, or whatever it is?  Also I don't really understand the 'present in the windows\system folder' thing, although I think it simply means that the font file should be there.  I've changed most of the fonts on the appearance tab, but that does not change everything, especially dialog boxes.

The System.ini file is used only for 16-bit applications, the file system.ini 'old' cards through the registry the following keys which are used for 16-bit applications:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WOW

    and

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\IniFileMapping

The %systemroot%\system.ini file is kept only for compatibility reasons, for the use of applications of by16 bits that can't read and write in the registry.  There is nothing to change for Windows XP system fonts.

  • How can I set all the new links window to open in tabs, but always get out YouTube videos?

I generally prefer the setting "open links that open in a new window in: new tab."

The only problem is that this causes the 'Pop Out' with the right function button in YouTube videos to also open the video in a tab instead of a window.

Does anyone know a way to get just the YouTube "pop out" work without changing my preferences each time?

I get a small new window pop it seems to match the resolution of the video.

Could check you some settings in Firefox about: config preferences editor?

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste link.open and make a pause so that the list is filtered

You can reset all parameters that are not defined by default (the default items should appear in bold). I think that the other is the criticism in this case.

    browser.link.open_newwindow

3 = divert new window into a new tab (by default) (checked *)

2 = allow the link to open a new window (uncontrolled *)

1 = new power window in the same tab

    * First checkbox in Options > Tabs (on Mac, Preferences > Tabs)

    browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction

0 = open_newwindow preferably in the spotlight for all new windows

2 = open_newwindow instead of honor for all new windows except windows with (default) features script

    1 = open_newwindow preference ignored (same effect as open_newwindow = 2).

    browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external

-1 = open_newwindow applies to external links (default)

3 = open external links in a new tab

2 = open external links in a new window

1 = open external links in the active tab

If you have Add-ons that alter the way tabs work in Firefox, they could be the substitution or modification of these parameters, so check those as well.

  • How can I quickly access the Cookie Exceptions window?

I have manually allow sites to store cookies on my computer, but to do that, I have to go to:

I found this chrome: / / link (chrome://browser/content/preferences/permissions.xul), but it does not work like the chrome: / / link to Cookies (chrome://browser/content/preferences/cookies.xul).

Is there an any shortcut to the Cookie Exceptions I can transform a bookmark or a simple add-on?

Firefox 6, released (August 16), will soon be the topic: the permissions page to manage all the field en permissions in the current tab.

Simpler is usually to click the button of the Site identity button and use more information > View Cookies or access the permissions tab.

Microsoft not never initiate calls to users. Unless you've placed a support call and expect a call back from the support agent, the call is not Microsoft. You can ignore it, or, if you choose, you can keep the crook on the line as long as possible to keep him from calling other gullible users. You might even be able to obtain information which would allow Microsoft to identify which plays this means round.

  • I use Windows XP Home Edition. It takes awhile to start when I turn on the computer. How can I speed up this process?

I use windows XP Home Edition. It takes awhile to start when I turn on the computer. How can I speed up this process?

    original title: slow start
    • Faster processor.
    • Fastest hard drive.
    • Faster or more RAM/memory.
    • Less things loading at startup.
    • Appropriate and the most recent hardware device drivers.

In XP, you can cleanup and optimize it in some way, by using the following tips:

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

Get and install the hardware device last drivers for your system hardware/system manufacturers support and/or download web site.

If you want, come back and let us know a bit more information on your system - particularly the brand / model of the system, you have - and maybe someone here can guide you to the place s x of law to this end.  This isn't 100% necessary - but I'd be willing to bet that you would gain some performance and features in making this part.

    Hi Cor - el
I found Opera. Opera browser does not compare to the greatness of firefox. Or help their support forums.

But Opera a button BACK on their download window.
The thing with the opera, is to open the download manager in a new window and make it look to Firefox Add-on like big DownloadManager Tweak.

Then, he looks the same, so that you know what you're doing
AND it has a download / RESUME button

    for info:

    > I tried Opera download on all those failed (try the rename delicate) Opera RESUMED in all cases test 9

    > and where I could not firefox to resume, not once in all the test cases 9.

so my conclusion is the workaround is not very good. And it had nothing to do with the server, I was downloaiding of (in test these 9 cases)

Perhaps in a future version:-firefox may also have the wonderful resume button and the Add on Download Manager TWEAK, may also have the CV download button.
