I contacted Erwin: South Africa: once and got the file number . I had to give him my email address and phone number. Helpful chap. It doesn't sort my problem on at the time no problem. However since I received phone calls from several people saying they call Windows. When I contacted my Internet provider that I called the number again and they assured me that Microsoft not phone people. So who is these people who keep calling me? How can I stop it? Telkom said it would not contribute to change my phone number.  I have installed Kaspersky but isn't sure if it's enough.  I had earlier this year also, and a virus still slipped through.

    Hi Annavan,

Microsoft or our partners make unsolicited phone calls (also known as the telephone canvassing) you charge for security patches or software. These calls will be made by a person with whom you can check that you are already a customer. Cybercriminals often use publicly available telephone directories so they might know your name and other personal information when they call you. They could even guess what operating system you are using. If you receive an unsolicited call from someone who claims to be from Technical Support Microsoft, hang up. We do not have such calls.

  • Windows 7. But the name of the account user each time before fully loading windows. How can I stop this and simply load in thank you Windows.

I have just upgraded to Windows 7. But whenever I turn on my computer, he wants to support me on my user account name before completely loading windows. How can I stop this and simply load in thank you Windows.

    Hi UKuser7,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forum.

Automatic logon is disabled in Windows 7 by default for security reasons. If it is enabled, anyone who can physically access the computer can also gain access to everything on the computer, including the networks that it is connected.

This setting is only recommended for cases where the computer is physically secure.

To set up Windows 7 to connect to the desktop automatically, follow the steps below.

    1) click Start , and then enter the following command in the start search box:

    Netplwiz

    2) press ENTER.

This opens the Advanced user accounts Control Panel window.

    (3) in the users tab, uncheck the box next to users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.

    4) click apply at the bottom of the user accounts window.

    (5) when the newspaper automatically on the dialog box appears, enter the user name for which you want to automatically connect to Windows 7. Then enter your password in the two areas where it is requested.

    6) click on the OK button.

    7) click OK in the window user accounts to complete the process.

Thereafter, your PC at startup, Windows 7 will be automatically connect.

Ticket back for your comments and concerns.

    Kind regards

  • When I open a link that opens a new Firefox window, it opens 2 tabs instead of one. How can I stop this?

When I open a link that opens a new Firefox window, it opens 2 tabs instead of one. A tab is the link that I opened and the second tab is just a generic Mozilla tab with links to 12 pages like Facebook, Youtube, etc. This tab opens on top too, so I always have to close to get what I'm looking for. How can I stop this from happening?

Hello. Thanks for all the posts on this topic. I have the same problem, as described by the op. But, while I use Avast, I have NOT the add-on from Astromenda which has been mentioned. However, I have the SB installed toolbar, and it has been recently updated, 29/12. I suspect that it is the culprit, if this problem is in fact not caused by an update of Firefox (my tiles have recently been reset on new tabs, and I suspect that Firefox for this problem).

I am ready to remove the toolbar from the SB, but prefer to keep it (Yes, I admit I'm stupid) If this annoying 'new window = 2 tabs with 'new tab' at the top' would just leave.

Apart from the removal of the toolbar SB... does anyone have suggestions? I don't see that all recently added add-ons/extensions that I don't recognize, apart from the update of the toolbar of SB.

Updated: 5 minutes after this announcement, I disabled the toolbar of SB and restarted Firefox. No change.

    Thank you for your support.

Thanks again for your response. I think I solved the problem. It seems I had inadvertently "pinned" manual. If I managed to find, and then click the option "detach", he was no longer listed.

  • How can I stop Firefox asking me over and over again (even on pages without Flash content) to install Flash? I don't want to not installed Flash and this stupid pop-up.

Then, even when I load Web sites (like those that we here at my work have created) with very simple HTML and absolutely nothing Flash related, I always get a pop-up asking me to install flash (pop down from the URL bar on the left.) How can I stop this without disable all updates of plug-in?

Also, why in the name of all that is good it wonder on Flash when I have no pages open with anything remotely Flash like on them?

Thanks to anyone who can answer.

my thought was that maybe an extension is inserting the flash code in each page visited...

  • When you open a Word document downloaded, hundreds of tabs begin opening in Firefox. How can I stop this happening?

I just installed Office 2007 on my computer and downloaded some documents on the internet. When I try to open Firefox becomes crazy and opens the tabs of the browser faster that I can close them, with no sign of stopping. How can I stop what is happening and have access to the downloads? Any help much appreciated!

OK, solved. It's not Firefox, it's Windows. Somehow, it had been changed to open Word documents as browsers. I had my suspicions that it wasn't Firefox as Word documents to open in form of tabs in the browser even if Firefox is not running. The only way to open a Word doc was if it was already on the hard drive.

For someone who has a similar problem, it's how to correct:

    Open my computer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    Click the File Types tab.
In the registered file types list, click the file that you are trying to open. In my case, it was the doc files. In the list this type of file has been shown by a Firefox icon, indicating that what was used to open the file.
Under the list of registered file types scroll details for each file type are displayed, with an option for "opens with:
Click Edit to the right of the present and choose the program to use in the future. Click OK and close the dialog box file types. This should solve the problem.

  • How can I stop mail constantly try to resend an email bounced?

A time back I sent an email to both addresses at a time.  Email went to a single address successfully but bounced on the other (with the message "failure MX Lookup;") try later).  Mail continues to try to return it to failed and I get emails bounce back.  How can I stop trying to send the email?  Enamel is in my "Sent" folder, so no use to delete from there - it just seems to be caught in a loop of cyberspace.  It's not ruining my life, just vaguely annoying.

The other problem is that the address has failed is a desk that I need to send things, so if anyone can tell me how to stop my e-mails get rejected from there, that would be great...

Is there a message still in your Outbox? Is there and it is this remove it from there.

Most likely mail "successfully" sent to your mail server and it's your e-mail server who tried several times to send it to the other people's e-mail server. In this case, the options are to delete your mail from Queue - Server users something normal cannot do, but the server administrator may be able to do for you.

Even if there is nothing that you can do yourself that a mail server will normally only try to send an email to a number of attempts or days and then stop. The number varies depending on the settings of the server.

There are a lot of possible reasons as to why it's a failure for a well known email address alleged. In this case based on the limited data available, it could be one of the following.

    • The recipient doesn't have to renew the domain name registration and so their field was suspended, so your server can not 'find '.
    • Someone accidentally messed up the DNS settings for the domain of recipients, not impossible but unlikely
    • Currently, their internet connection is defective and they run their own DNS server, so as a side effect of their DNS record has also become unavailable, it is for this kind of situation that your mail server is trying repeatedly for once in the hope that their link returns to the top
    • If you typed the wrong email address in case the domain name, then your server will not be able to find it because it is looking for the wrong name
    • They recently moved offices and/or Internet providers and meanwhile, their systems can be offline

In many cases they should bid a secondary MX record so that if their own mail server is temporarily unavailable mails sent at the entrance side and temporarily kept them until their mail server is back online then the secondary MX server will forward all the emails that have been temporarily held in them. Some people/companies do not reach the secondary MX records of installation.

In the menu bar, go to tools | Options, then select 'security' at the top of the Control Panel options. Uncheck the boxes in the "Passwords" section. Then click the "Saved passwords" button. Another Panel is displayed and you can use this Panel to remove passwords that has already saved the FF.

Then, I would say that you close and then reopen FF.

  • How can I stop auto refreshing a web page in XP immediately after its opening?

Under XP, once I have access to a new web page Firefox auto update this page once the page is ~ 80 - 90% open - how can I stop this refreshment?

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of your modules is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).
See the extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common troubleshooting Firefox problems and troubleshooting questions with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems

If this does not work in safe mode and then disable all your extensions and then try to find out who is causing by allowing both the problem reappears.
You can use 'Disable all add-ons' on the start safe mode window.
You will need to close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")
