I used the direct Selection tool to select all the boxes and then use the Middle bounding box handle to drag the boxes longer. When I do this the position of the box moves as well. If I type a number for the height of the boxes, it extends the type.

  OK, I see now, this is happening to me also. But on a much smaller scale, so did not notice. My Y was pt 178. After scale if has 179.247
