  I try to install Microsoft streets & trips with GPS DVD positioner 2011 and it fails at the beginning of the installation.  My environment is a workbook of Elite HP 8560w running teacher of Win 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 Professional (8 GB memory, 500 GB disk space).

  I want to emphasize that I will not be plugging the GPS stick on a USB port until the installation process or the installed software requires it.  The installation begins with the display:

  "Microsoft streets & trips 2011 requires the installation of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable. To install the component now, click OK. If you want to stop the installation and exit the Setup program, click Cancel. »

  I clicked on OK to proceed with the installation. Another message was displayed:

  "Please wait while the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable is installed."

  After a fairly short period of time, a final message was posted:

  "One of the prerequisite components failed to install. The installation program will now exist. »

  I check that my list of installed programs in programs and features, and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 is already installed, listed as:

  Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x 64 Redistributable - Version 10.0.40219
  Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x 86 Redistributable - Version 10.0.40219

  I tried to start the installation several times but still, he fails and ends at the same point.

  I thank all participants for their contributions on my problem captioned.

  As I mentioned in one of my previous answers for myself, for me, this issue is now closed.  Microsoft support has accepted my MS Streets & Trips w / GPS for a full refund.  At least, support staff, that I spoke acknowledged that ST2011 was known to be incompatible with W7P SP1 and they offered a full refund.

  A number of responses I received offered possible solutions that I had tried and has said on this subject in previous updates (for example, to run the installation of the data .msi on the installation CD).  Then I still had possession of the ST2011 software, I don't was not informed of Microsoft resetting tool mentioned by Mike L. Robbins, so I can't say if that than me by my installation problems.  Be it, everything is sent to Microsoft.

  I can only hope that if Microsoft releases streets & trips 2012 which does not inherit problems, I lived.  In my view, this thread can be closed now.  Thanks to you all.

  Certainly continue to reply to this topic, if others could benefit from your proposed solutions to ST2011 installed.

  First, you must use the page to Toshiba display driver.

  You must use a field on the form as the one on the line items, NOT the line number that appears in the journal of the line item. If I understand correctly, the LineItemIdentifier can be any field on the form, even the short description. It is best if you know you will use web services to update the line items, you add a (potentially hidden) field to the form and fill that with unique values when positions are created. If you are working with existing elements of line, then you must choose a field that will be usually unique within a single record and hope, you don't have a lot of duplicates.

  Well in this case you may need to update the host manually (see for example http://communities.vmware.com/people/vmroyale/blog/2011/09/15/updating-esxi-5--single-use-esxcli-how-to) even with the need to manually update the host on which vCenter Server is running, I would always run as a virtual machine. There is usually not that many updates.

  I'm trying to update the location of my pictures.  I can change it under "Info" in the menu of the window (set the PIN on the map) and that works fine, but when I go to the Image menu and then click on setting Date and time, and then change the time zone on the coast is where I live in California where I took the photo, choose San Diego in the dropdown selection menu it It's default back to Los Angeles after that I click on Adjust.  How can I get the city to stay on my choice?

  Tthat selection has nothing to do with the location, it's for setting time tags on the photos, zon hour option moves both the appropriate amount.
